What is PAS?
PAS(Placement Automation System) is a web-based software that will
automate the placement procedure for any college.

Current functioning of Placement Cell
• Placement cell in our college currently functions with the help of
Yahoo Group(tpobansalindore) and SMS channel (tposdkcb)
provided by SMSGupshup.
• Students receive notifications regarding TP cell information via
mails and SMS through these groups. TPO(Training and Placement
Officer) of our college sends these information to the students.
• Data regarding every student is maintained in Excel sheets and is
forwarded to companies during a campus drive.
• For every campus drive, students eligible are provided with Hall
Tickets from the college.
• Training is provided via written tests conducted in the college,
drawback of which, students don’t have practice of facing online
exams.

Proposed functioning with PAS
• All SMS and mail notification would be sent via PAS.
• Data of each student will be stored in PAS that will be verified by TP
cell.
• Student discussions will be covered by forums.
• Online exam preparation can be done with the help of mock tests
conducted with the help of PAS.
• Digital resource will provide study material to students company
wise.
• Criteria based searching will enable the TPO to easily find students
fulfilling the criteria to take part in campus drives.

Technologies that will be used
• For development of frontend, PHP and JSP will be used.
• Web server: Apache Http server & Apache Tomcat
• Designing of web-pages will be done with the help of HTML, CSS,
JavaScript.
• Database used: MySQL

Software's-
• XAMPP, a composition of MySQL, Apache, PHP. A single tool that
needs to be installed to run JSP’s and PHP’s.

Individual Student Profile

• Every student registered in PAS will have an individual profile that
will contain his entire information.
• A student will have rights to add , update as well as remove
information.
• Academics related data will be verified by TPO and will not be
editable once verified. After verification, only the TPO may change
the information if required.
• The profile will contain personal information, academics, interests,
achievements, projects undertaken, resume etc.

Criteria Based Search
• Eligibility criteria for campus drives change from company to
company. How many students are eligible for a drive can be easily
identified with the help of this feature.
• Searching of students on the basis of branch, 10th percentage, 12th
percentage, B.E aggregate, current or previous backlogs is
provided which is much flexible in comparison to applying
constraints on excel sheets.
• As the eligibility of students can be directly known, the need of
hall tickets is less felt.
• The web portal access can also be provided to companies for
referral of student data directly.

Company Profile
• Students taking part in a drive need to know about the company
before interviews. Hence, knowing the company profile is an
important aspect.
• PAS will provide company profiles of companies approaching for
placements.
• Students need not struggle searching for information on the net,
all necessary information will be made available at the portal itself.

Digital Resource
Digital resource will contain:
• Company-wise exam papers
• Study material
• Interview questions
• Tutorials
and other placement related information….

Online Exam
• Students may take online mock tests via PAS at any time.
• Online tests will be uploaded to PAS by the TP cell moderators.
• Aptitude as well as technical aspects will be covered.
• Pattern of tests will be based on company papers.

Resume Building Tools
• All student information is available
at the database.
• The data will be extracted from
database and placed to automate
resume building by taking specifics
from students and speeding up the
resume making process.
• Several formats will be provided
and student can use any of them to
generate his resume.

Forums
 Students as well as
TP cell moderators
can take part in
forums.

 Student problems
will be discussed in
forums.

Notice Board

 Digital notice board
will contain latest
information, news
from the TP cell.
 Moderators will have
rights to update
information.

SMS and Mail Notification
• SMS will be sent via an SMS domain specifically purchased for PAS.
• Mail from PAS will be sent to each registered user keeping them updated
all the time.

Report Generation
• Will include retrieving records on the basis of some similarity
• List of Placed students, Un-placed students, company-wise
placement records will be made available through this module.

Industrial Training Record Management
• Industrial training undertaken by final year students will also be
managed with the help of this software.
• All documentation regarding the training will be uploaded in soft
copies to the student profile.
• Application form of training will also be made available in the
portal, students will be able to fill in details directly to the portal.
