The People Model & Cloud Transformation
A successful cloud-transformation journey incorporates three pillars: people, process, and technology. Far too often, organizations focus on process improvements and technology implementation, but ignore the human aspect. Many leaders acknowledge that the first two are easy to modify, while influencing culture is more difficult. This session covers best-practice methods meant to empower customers to address this challenge. Learn about roles and responsibilities germane to the transition and post-cloud adoption phase. Assess your organization’s gaps among the requisite skills and competencies. Build effective training models. And shape an effective DevOps culture.

Let’s take a look at Microsoft’s overall vision for how we help customers unlock communications, teamwork and collaboration with their employees.
Throughout our days, we transition from individual work to group based work (potentially many times in one day) and in doing so, we find ourselves moving from space to space, from individual spaces to collaborative spaces. (talk through spaces and use personal examples to make it real)
Next we need to consider what devices people might be using and these vary depending on the spaces. People on the go will be using their mobile. Other office devices might be a PC, a PC with a peripheral, or an IP desk phone. In collaboration spaces, people will be using all-in-one devices like Surface Hub, other large screen interactive displays like Windows Collaboration Displays, or room systems like Microsoft Teams Rooms.
And while this transition from space-to-space/device-to-device, may seem complex, it is made seamless when you unify all devices on Microsoft Teams.
Most organizations have heard of the cloud, but not everyone is at the same stage on their cloud journey. This SlideShare overviews how to best leverage the cloud, the multitude of options and the typical stages of transition. Also outlined are the steps you can take to get where you want to go on your cloud journey faster and more efficiently.

Microsoft 365 Business Voice makes it easy for small and medium organizations to turn Microsoft Teams into a powerful and flexible telephone system. It's a replacement for traditional telephony providers and in-house phone systems that can be difficult and costly to manage. You can set up both toll and toll-free numbers, call menus to help callers get to the right department, audio conferencing so you can host meetings with anyone, and more. You can even give people their own phone numbers so they can get calls directly.
Business Voice does all of this by wrapping Microsoft 365 Phone System features into an easy-to-manage bundle. You don't need to worry about choosing the right plan or feature; they're all there and set up for you. Because Phone System is a part of Teams, you can turn any PC, Mac, or mobile device into a phone that can use your Business Voice phone number.
Document similarity with vector space modeldalal404
Vector space model represents documents and queries as vectors in a common vector space. Each dimension corresponds to a unique term, and the value in each dimension represents how important that term is to the document or query. Document similarity is calculated by taking the cosine of the angle between the document and query vectors, with a value closer to 1 indicating greater similarity. An example calculates tf-idf weights for terms in documents and a query, derives the document and query vectors, and determines that the second document has the highest similarity to the query based on a cosine similarity value of 0.8246.

Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

TrustArc Webinar - Your Guide for Smooth Cross-Border Data Transfers and Glob...TrustArc
Global data transfers can be tricky due to different regulations and individual protections in each country. Sharing data with vendors has become such a normal part of business operations that some may not even realize they’re conducting a cross-border data transfer!
The Global CBPR Forum launched the new Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules framework in May 2024 to ensure that privacy compliance and regulatory differences across participating jurisdictions do not block a business's ability to deliver its products and services worldwide.
To benefit consumers and businesses, Global CBPRs promote trust and accountability while moving toward a future where consumer privacy is honored and data can be transferred responsibly across borders.
This webinar will review:
- What is a data transfer and its related risks
- How to manage and mitigate your data transfer risks
- How do different data transfer mechanisms like the EU-US DPF and Global CBPR benefit your business globally
- Globally what are the cross-border data transfer regulations and guidelines
Getting the Most Out of ScyllaDB Monitoring: ShareChat's TipsScyllaDB
ScyllaDB monitoring provides a lot of useful information. But sometimes it’s not easy to find the root of the problem if something is wrong or even estimate the remaining capacity by the load on the cluster. This talk shares our team's practical tips on: 1) How to find the root of the problem by metrics if ScyllaDB is slow 2) How to interpret the load and plan capacity for the future 3) Compaction strategies and how to choose the right one 4) Important metrics which aren’t available in the default monitoring setup.
How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?
This talk will cover ScyllaDB Architecture from the cluster-level view and zoom in on data distribution and internal node architecture. In the process, we will learn the secret sauce used to get ScyllaDB's high availability and superior performance. We will also touch on the upcoming changes to ScyllaDB architecture, moving to strongly consistent metadata and tablets.
