PMI Thailand: DevOps / Roles of Project Manager (20-May-2020)Gonzague PATINIER
DevOps seems to be the latest ‘buzzword’ and trend in the IT industry. This is driven by business needs for ever-faster deployment of new functionality and frustrations with the time and effort it takes to get new systems into operations. It is no longer a question of ‘should we adopt DevOps’, but ‘when and how’?
DevOps represents a significant cultural and behavioral change and many organizations fail to address this in their adoption. Gartner defines DevOps as a change in IT culture, focusing on rapid IT service delivery through the adoption of agile, lean practices in the context of a system-oriented approach. These culture changes include organization changes, impacting structure, roles and responsibilities.
What and where is the role of the project manager in organizations that have transitioned towards adopting DevOPs? Join us and let’s discuss DevOps and answer your questions followed by an informative discussion.
By now, enterprises understand the value of Software as a Service (SaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), but there still is much confusion about Platform as a Service (PaaS). This confusion is one reason why enterprises have been slow to adopt PaaS. Why is there so much confusion? This presentation will help clear up the confusion of all the different types of PaaS offerings in the marketplace.

DevOps, Microservices and containers - a high level overviewBarton George
DevOps, microservices, and containers enable digital transformation by allowing organizations to develop software faster and deploy it more reliably. This is achieved through a DevOps methodology and culture that emphasizes automation, continuous integration and delivery, and monitoring. Microservices break applications into independently deployable components that can be developed and scaled independently. Containers package applications and dependencies to ensure consistency between development, testing, and production. Dell is adopting these approaches internally and offering related services and technologies like OpenShift to help customers with their digital transformations.

This document provides an overview of OpenStack Block Storage (Cinder) and how it addresses challenges of scaling virtual environments. It discusses how virtualization led to cloud computing with goals of abstraction, automation, and scale. OpenStack was created as open source software to build and manage clouds with common APIs. Cinder provides block storage volumes to OpenStack instances, managing creation and attachment. SolidFire's storage system offers comprehensive Cinder support with guaranteed performance, high availability, and scale for production use.
Cloud also presents us with capabilities to enable IT to break out of silos and deliver real results on customer and organizational needs. Value creation processes are dynamic, flexible and multi-dimensional to meet the changing needs of the customer and your organization. Dell believes that cloud can be a ‘change agent’, helping to overcome capacity limitations and drive value creation rather than just reactive servicing.
With OpenStack and OpenSource, customers can get further cost benefits by not having to pay exhorbitant license fees and also get locked into proprietary vendor stacks and API/s
Are you overwhelmed by storage capacity requirements? Are you wondering how web giants are able to store large amounts of data at a fraction of your storage costs?

Docker Desktop introduces template-based workflows to simplify containerization for more developers.
A well-architected cloud provides a stable IT environment that offers easy access to needed resources, usage-based expenses, extra capacity on demand, disaster recovery, and a secure environment, but a well-architected cloud does not magically build itself. It requires careful consideration of a multitude of factors, both technical and non-technical. There is no single architecture that is "right" for an OpenStack cloud deployment. OpenStack can be used for any number of different purposes, and each of them has its own particular requirements and architectural peculiarities. The use cases covered in this talk include:
• General purpose: A cloud built with common components that should address 80% of common use cases.
• Compute focused: A cloud designed to address compute intensive workloads such as high performance computing (HPC).
• Storage focused: A cloud focused on storage intensive workloads such as data
analytics with parallel file systems.
• Network focused: A cloud depending on high performance and reliable networking, such as a content delivery network (CDN).

This time, we're diving into the murky waters of the Fuxnet malware, a brainchild of the illustrious Blackjack hacking group.
Let's set the scene: Moscow, a city unsuspectingly going about its business, unaware that it's about to be the star of Blackjack's latest production. The method? Oh, nothing too fancy, just the classic "let's potentially disable sensor-gateways" move.
In a move of unparalleled transparency, Blackjack decides to broadcast their cyber conquests on ruexfil.com. Because nothing screams "covert operation" like a public display of your hacking prowess, complete with screenshots for the visually inclined.
Ah, but here's where the plot thickens: the initial claim of 2,659 sensor-gateways laid to waste? A slight exaggeration, it seems. The actual tally? A little over 500. It's akin to declaring world domination and then barely managing to annex your backyard.
For Blackjack, ever the dramatists, hint at a sequel, suggesting the JSON files were merely a teaser of the chaos yet to come. Because what's a cyberattack without a hint of sequel bait, teasing audiences with the promise of more digital destruction?
-------
This document presents a comprehensive analysis of the Fuxnet malware, attributed to the Blackjack hacking group, which has reportedly targeted infrastructure. The analysis delves into various aspects of the malware, including its technical specifications, impact on systems, defense mechanisms, propagation methods, targets, and the motivations behind its deployment. By examining these facets, the document aims to provide a detailed overview of Fuxnet's capabilities and its implications for cybersecurity.
The document offers a qualitative summary of the Fuxnet malware, based on the information publicly shared by the attackers and analyzed by cybersecurity experts. This analysis is invaluable for security professionals, IT specialists, and stakeholders in various industries, as it not only sheds light on the technical intricacies of a sophisticated cyber threat but also emphasizes the importance of robust cybersecurity measures in safeguarding critical infrastructure against emerging threats. Through this detailed examination, the document contributes to the broader understanding of cyber warfare tactics and enhances the preparedness of organizations to defend against similar attacks in the future.

Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.
