This document provides instructions and materials for a literature class lesson on the book A Long Walk to Water. It includes directions to take out homework, re-read chapters 14-15 and take notes, define vocabulary words using context clues, compare the accounts of two characters, discuss challenges to survival, and annotate an article on civil war in Sudan. Students are asked to add to a chart comparing the challenges faced by characters and given an exit ticket to identify challenges mentioned in both the article and book using a three-part answer format. Homework includes re-reading additional chapters and adding to notes.
