1) Research involves systematically collecting and analyzing information to increase knowledge. It starts with an idea or question and involves gathering and organizing data to find answers. 2) There are two main types of research: qualitative research which uses questions to gather hypothetical information, and quantitative research which uses mathematical analysis like statistics. 3) Documentation is the systematic recording and organized arrangement of collected and summarized information. It aims to provide details about a topic through various forms of media like text, drawings, photos, and video.

Research consists of: •Asking a question that nobody has asked before. •Doing the necessary work to find the answer; and •Communicating the knowledge you have acquired to a larger audience. Research comprises of creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge Research is a systematic enquiry that investigates hypotheses, suggests new interpretations of data or texts, and poses new questions for future research to explore.
Collecting Data
There are several forms of research: scientific, humanities, artistic, economic, social, business, marketing, practitioner research, life, technological ,etc. There are 2 types of Researches- Qualitative and Quantitative Research Qualitative Research – • This type of Research is Hypothetical. • Generally it can be carried out by answering Questions like What? Where? Why? When? How? • It is also based on the facts by a similar research.
Quantitative Research – • This type of Research is mathematically oriented by creating charts, statistics, percentages and theories. RESEARCH IDEA QUESTION RESEARCH METHOD DATA Information has to be collected (Organized & summarized) Starts with a Idea Formulate a Question to be studied
WHAT IS DOCUMENTATION???
WHAT IS A DOCUMENT? A “document” is a collection of data, regardless of the medium on which it is recorded, that generally has permanence and can be read by humans or machines. Documents include both paper and electronic documents. A document is an amount of information on one or more related topics prepared for a specific purpose and presented as a unit. A document may be used in a printed form, online form or a combination of the two. Examples of documents include: manuals, reports, proposals, letters, faxes and emails.
Systematic Recording of the Data and Organized Arrangement of the summarized Information is DOCUMENTATION. Process of Documentation: the process of providing details or information about something Documentation should aim to collect/create Information in the form of – • Drawings • Sketches • Photographs • Audio • Video • Graphic and • Text documentation in a variety of contexts.
WHAT IS ANALYSIS???
Analysis of data is a process of inspecting, cleaning, transforming, and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision-making.

  • 2. Research is learning new things…. finding new things….. Advancing your Knowledge…. Researchalways starts with an Idea Research is Collecting Data or Collecting Information.
  • 3. Research consists of: •Asking a question that nobody has asked before. •Doing the necessary work to find the answer; and •Communicating the knowledge you have acquired to a larger audience. Research comprises of creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge Research is a systematic enquiry that investigates hypotheses, suggests new interpretations of data or texts, and poses new questions for future research to explore.

There are several forms of research: scientific, humanities, artistic, economic, social, business, marketing, practitioner research, life, technological ,etc. There are 2 types of Researches- Qualitative and Quantitative Research Qualitative Research – • This type of Research is Hypothetical. • Generally it can be carried out by answering Questions like What? Where? Why? When? How? • It is also based on the facts by a similar research.
  • 6. Quantitative Research – • This type of Research is mathematically oriented by creating charts, statistics, percentages and theories. RESEARCH IDEA QUESTION RESEARCH METHOD DATA Information has to be collected (Organized & summarized) Starts with a Idea Formulate a Question to be studied
  • 8. WHAT IS A DOCUMENT? A “document” is a collection of data, regardless of the medium on which it is recorded, that generally has permanence and can be read by humans or machines. Documents include both paper and electronic documents. A document is an amount of information on one or more related topics prepared for a specific purpose and presented as a unit. A document may be used in a printed form, online form or a combination of the two. Examples of documents include: manuals, reports, proposals, letters, faxes and emails.
  • 9. Systematic Recording of the Data and Organized Arrangement of the summarized Information is DOCUMENTATION. Process of Documentation: the process of providing details or information about something Documentation should aim to collect/create Information in the form of – • Drawings • Sketches • Photographs • Audio • Video • Graphic and • Text documentation in a variety of contexts.

  • 12. Analysis of data is a process of inspecting, cleaning, transforming, and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision-making.
