1. Statement of Work
a.) The Purpose Statement:
The purpose of this Project is to design and fabricate a water heating system, Aqua or
Water lens utilizing Sun as renewable energy source. Design would be made as simple as
possible, portable with no complexities involved and conveniently useable even by a non-
technical person.
b.) The Scope Statement:
The scope of this project is to develop a heat generating system that can generate high
temperature with minimum amount of costing. This Solar water heating system will be designed
from commonly available cheap materials (wood, plastic sheet, etc.) and fabricated in such a way
so as to give maximum efficiency.
c.) The Project Deliverables:
The successful completion of this project will be able to deliver a Water Lens that would
generate a temperature of 700
C within 20 minutes of time. It will be a portable device that can be
used conveniently used in remote areas.
d.) The Goals and Objectives:
This project is aimed to produce a cost-effective and efficient heat generating system that
can be used for purification of water. As most of the Bacteria and pathogens die at 500
C so it
would be useful in backward areas where there is lack of adequate supply of clean water.
e.) The Cost and Schedule Estimates:
Cost Estimates for this project are as follow:

SUBJECT: To write a reflective memo of the Project Statement of Work (SoW).
DATE: 13-April-2018
By writing the Project Statement of Work, I was able to look deep into the nature of a
Project and covered many different factors that can either make the project successful or lead to
the failure of a Project. Anyone writing the Statement of Work can easily determine the
feasibility of the project.
Without wasting much time, this document (SoW) can tell us whether the Project is
within the Defined Scope and will be able to provide Required Deliverables or not. Everything
being well pre-planned in Statement of Work makes the Project Actions easy to be followed
with Minimum Risk.
One of the most useful learning outcome of this Project was the use of Precedence
Networking Diagram. The use of these networking diagrams makes it easy to recognize what
needs to be done first in order to allow the smooth execution of all the Project activities.
The important aspect of this project was the Practical use of Gantt Chart. The use of this
Graphical Scheduling Technique solved most the difficulties in executing project tasks within
their required time-frame.
This Project was quite helpful in developing my Project Management and Formal
Document Writing Skills. This project gave me a thorough understanding of handling
different situations like “What to Do” and “When to Do” when working as Team.
