SimCLIM is a flexible climate modeling system that runs on a personal computer. It can be used to perturb climate data, examine current and future climate variability and impacts, create climate change scenarios, and conduct sensitivity analyses. Some advantages include its capacity for quick climate data perturbation and spatial/temporal analyses, ability to easily add user data, and support for multi-scale and interdisciplinary analyses. It also integrates well with GIS platforms and comes pre-loaded with US climate time series data. A client review found SimCLIM to be the only PC-based product with its functionality, easy to use, and providing seamless integration of tasks in climate impact projects.
