Progressive politicians believe in fairness, that the people in a state should not suffer as minorities but rather enjoy economic and decent lives. This life is achieved through fairness at sharing education and a lively participation to the life of the public, hence there should be no special attention to the wealthy or the connected members of the society. Progressive leaders aim to utilize government infrastructure and funds for the betterment of the people whereby set rules are ensured followed. Conservative leaders are the kind of leaders that believe in having their traditions and political institutions upheld and preserved.
The difference between the two classes of politicians sets them aside as elite leaders. This is because they believe in institutions and as leaders; politics is associated to the people. Conservatism is like a political belief which shows concern to the traditional set ups or more precisely the institutions set up by the peoples discretion. This means that all the foundations of the society will be with held and protected but the conservatives who believe that they are given the mandate by the people to protect what has been built by the society since time immemorial.
My County of origin is Malheur County. It is a county that evolved in the 19th century and has been on a progressive streak ever since its inception. It has the friendliest people who are outgoing and ready to help. The people in the County believe in communism and with that, they are conservative as stipulated to political affiliations. Malheur County covers a large area and is good for sporting events due to its even landscape. I believe the county is more conservative in a political perspective because of its small population and the economic activities of the people.
The people in the County tend to hold onto their old traditions. Due to the landscape of the land, Malheur County has viable hunting grounds, it can be a good hunting site and it is being used for that purpose to today. I believe the state is conservative because of the low population of the people. The population is low because there are many old people, the presence of old people in a place signifies the absence of other younger vibrant members of the society and therefore the old people tend to cling onto the old ways and hence upholding their traditions.
The area also has people that are independent. This means they work hard for their living, the people in Malheur County are farmers and they tend to their farms to produce both food and cash crops which they sell to other surrounding states. Since the area is not made up of many young people. There are no competent formal employment firms that may help in the buildup of the County. It is believed that the old people have their way of holding onto the past or.

I currently live in Liberty County Georgia in a small town called Allenhurst. Allenhurst is one of the small townships of the county. The largest town is Hinesville which is the location of the Army Base Fort Stewart. Liberty County is categorized as lower middle class, less educated and primarily composed of children and teenagers, college aged residents and young professionals (Liberty County High, n.d.). In the county there are approximately 62,500 people with approximately 23,000 households or families according to the 2015 Census. Of those 23,000 families almost 4000 are living in poverty (Quick Facts Liberty, 2015). A large percentage of the people are military or somehow affiliated so they are not grounded in the area. The reason why I provided the previous facts is because I believe that this is the reason why the citizens in and around this area are not very involved in the local government. In the town that I live in and the next smaller town Walthourville. The town Walthourville is named after the family that originally settled the area and that family still has a lot of control over the area. Another prominent name in the community is the last name Bacon. A host of the members of the population are from this family as well. Most of the political figures are friends and associates of the descendants of the Walthour and Bacon family.
People in this area do not turn out to vote as they should and it is mostly because they feel that their votes do not count or they are uninformed or uninterested. It is sad to say but this is what is happening throughout the nation. People overall think that their vote does not matter and are very uniformed on what is going on. I do not think that this is satisfactory especially considering all of the issues that occur in the area. The area is mostly lower income and Army people who are not very involved in politics. These people are affected the most by political decisions but they are the least concerned.
I always advocate that at the local level is where the most change happens and where it affects the day to day lives of citizens and that is where they should be the most involved. The local politicians are the most affluent and can basically buy their positions so they do not get must push back from people in the community. I for one like to be involved in what is going on in the area that I live in and try to know what is going on. Even I have a hard time finding out what is going on because things are not advertised and information is not readily available to the public. Everyone does not have the internet in order to go to the count and state sites to get election information and there is not much info in the local papers until the day of or after elections. I think that information needs to be posted in the local businesses and public areas where most of the people have visibility. This might improv.

Our group has proposed a new nation called the State of Malacca located in Malaysia. The nation is self-sustainable with diverse natural resources including timber, ores, aquatic creatures, and agriculture. The economy centers around a trading hub that collects resources from different regions. The nation practices democracy with representatives elected from different ethnic groups to ensure equality. Citizens work together across regions to utilize resources and celebrate cultural traditions, reflecting the cooperative identity of the group.

Many Democrats compared Trump to a "fascist," and Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez famously compared child detention facilities to "concentration camps." (Republicans claimed this was an unfair comparison and disrespectful to the real victims of the Holocaust.) American opinion has indeed shaped politic consequences, political interests, and policymaking. Even with little or no interest in policymaking and politics, the assumption of democracy gives the citizens the power to freely air out their issues and give their opinion in matters of political concern. Taking the war in Iraq, it posed a significant economic and political imbalance. However, support from the politicians was negligible. And because a majority of the Americans opposed the war in Iran, they voted for a Democratic congressional candidate. Their opinion played a great deal in making concrete policies in response to the war in Iraq.
Public opinion is a reflection of the citizens’ view on how the government responds to national politics. Political actions are driven by the citizen’s opinion (Erikson, & Tedin, 2015). It sheds light on the outcomes of specific policies and helps the political candidates identify the characters demanded of them by the citizens. Political scholars argued that the perception of old public opinions was changed because of ambiguity and inaccuracy (Dür, 2019). Modern theories came to identify public opinion as either latent or a broad expression. Latent opinions are formed on the spot, while broad expressions are opinions that had earlier been formed and remained stable (Cantril, 2015).
When convincing policymakers, it proves difficult, interest groups may indirectly influence public opinion. They can achieve this through the media, holding rallies, or handing out leaflets to the public (Dür, 2019). Because the citizens have little or no information on policymaking, they can easily be swayed by interest groups. Interest groups can, therefore, successfully source their support from public opinion or not.
Public opinion remains relevant in American politics. Journalists, politicians, and political scientists should focus on getting the public’s opinion on state affairs. In as much as views might differ or change, establishing a common ground will help in policymaking (Dür, 2019). For the war in Iraq, the Democratic gained power over the senate and House. This was greatly influenced by the failure of public support that shifted the pro-Democratic in 2006 and the 2008 elections. Because opinions are not fixed, establishing a connection between public views and political outcomes might be impossible.

This is literally activism through social media and, despite such a negative label, researchers are finding that this actually works! Activism through the medium of social media is having a significant impact. This is just ONE example of many of not only a "mass behavior" but can also fit into all 4 categories of social movements. Decolonizing Universal Design for LearningFrederic Fovet
UDL has gained in popularity over the last decade both in the K-12 and the post-secondary sectors. The usefulness of UDL to create inclusive learning experiences for the full array of diverse learners has been well documented in the literature, and there is now increasing scholarship examining the process of integrating UDL strategically across organisations. One concern, however, remains under-reported and under-researched. Much of the scholarship on UDL ironically remains while and Eurocentric. Even if UDL, as a discourse, considers the decolonization of the curriculum, it is abundantly clear that the research and advocacy related to UDL originates almost exclusively from the Global North and from a Euro-Caucasian authorship. It is argued that it is high time for the way UDL has been monopolized by Global North scholars and practitioners to be challenged. Voices discussing and framing UDL, from the Global South and Indigenous communities, must be amplified and showcased in order to rectify this glaring imbalance and contradiction.
This session represents an opportunity for the author to reflect on a volume he has just finished editing entitled Decolonizing UDL and to highlight and share insights into the key innovations, promising practices, and calls for change, originating from the Global South and Indigenous Communities, that have woven the canvas of this book. The session seeks to create a space for critical dialogue, for the challenging of existing power dynamics within the UDL scholarship, and for the emergence of transformative voices from underrepresented communities. Progressive politicians believe in fairness, that the people in a
state should not suffer as minorities but rather enjoy economic
and decent lives. This life is achieved through fairness at
sharing education and a lively participation to the life of the
public, hence there should be no special attention to the wealthy
or the connected members of the society. Progressive leaders
aim to utilize government infrastructure and funds for the
betterment of the people whereby set rules are ensured
followed. Conservative leaders are the kind of leaders that
believe in having their traditions and political institutions
upheld and preserved.
The difference between the two classes of politicians sets them
aside as elite leaders. This is because they believe in
institutions and as leaders; politics is associated to the people.
Conservatism is like a political belief which shows concern to
the traditional set ups or more precisely the institutions set up
by the peoples discretion. This means that all the foundations of
the society will be with held and protected but the conservatives
who believe that they are given the mandate by the people to
2. protect what has been built by the society since time
immemorial.
My County of origin is Malheur County. It is a county that
evolved in the 19th century and has been on a progressive streak
ever since its inception. It has the friendliest people who are
outgoing and ready to help. The people in the County believe in
communism and with that, they are conservative as stipulated to
political affiliations. Malheur County covers a large area and is
good for sporting events due to its even landscape. I believe the
county is more conservative in a political perspective because
of its small population and the economic activities of the
people.
The people in the County tend to hold onto their old traditions.
Due to the landscape of the land, Malheur County has viable
hunting grounds, it can be a good hunting site and it is being
used for that purpose to today. I believe the state is
conservative because of the low population of the people. The
population is low because there are many old people, the
presence of old people in a place signifies the absence of other
younger vibrant members of the society and therefore the old
people tend to cling onto the old ways and hence upholding
their traditions.
The area also has people that are independent. This means they
work hard for their living, the people in Malheur County are
farmers and they tend to their farms to produce both food and
cash crops which they sell to other surrounding states. Since the
area is not made up of many young people. There are no
competent formal employment firms that may help in the
buildup of the County. It is believed that the old people have
their way of holding onto the past or what is familiar to them,
therefore they cannot accept any new thing that may come up
and when it comes to politics, they revere the progressive
minds.
The hypothesis used above is somehow true and partly wrong.
The aspects considered include the population distribution, the
geographical location urban to local, though on estimating the
3. population, it cannot be said that the population is low,
economic activity and even their mode of governing. According
to the census taken in 2013, Malheur has a population of 31,
440 people. It is a large number of people and it cannot be said
that they are old. Old people need other people to take care of
them and therefore it is considered that there is even
distribution of people in their different ages and not specifically
the old people.
The area is 9,926 sq. mi. which cannot be deduced to be a small
area. Due to the expansive nature of the area, there is a
possibility of more economic activities being undertaken in
Malheur County. It can be an indicator that Malheur County
people don’t necessarily depend on government institutions to
get a means of livelihood. They are not depended on formal
employment, the vastness of the area also shows that people are
evenly distributed and therefore the capability of knowing each
other is minimal. Therefore a communal lifestyle cannot be
enhanced, instead people live on their own hence they have
progressive minds.
Malheur County is not an urban populated area. This is evident
because of the economic activities of the people. The activities
include Livestock rearing, food recreation and processing and
agriculture. These activities are undertaken to promote the
peoples’ and the County’s economy. In so doing the people
become independent, hence work hard in order to maintain and
even improve the status quo. The practice of farming which is
on a large scale subsistent shows that the community still leans
on its old ways.
There is a problem with hunger in Malheur County. Since the
community cannot reach out to help its self, there has been a
series of food aid directed to help the community. There is an
emergency food box distribution in the area. It has been
reported that there is an 11 percent increase in the supply of the
emergency food box in south east Oregon county area since
2004 (Oregonfoodbank.org). It is an indication that there is
continued increase on the dependency on emergency food
4. supply. What is the problem with the farming systems in South
Oregon?
Malheur County leadership is dominated by republicans. Among
the County officials, there are commissioners (Oregon Secretary
of State). It means that the County has many republican
supporters, who consider it their right to ensure that the
traditions of Malheur County are kept safely. The traditions
include the way of life and the partisan way of electing leaders.
No matter how brilliant ideas a new leader has, it is hard to
secure a vote in the south east County. The people are
comfortable with their old ways of life.
In conclusion my hypothesis about the political culture of
Malheur County was partly correct. The people in Malheur
County are conservatives, meaning they are not willing to
abandon the cultures they have in order to embrace new changes
in the economy. This has led them to remain in the local towns
as well as their rural areas where they undertake agricultural
activities. The people in Malheur County do not live in
communal arrangements, therefore they cannot affect the
decisions and thinking of their fellow citizens as the
republicans’ are bound to do. The people have shown an
indication of not voting for any other person rather than the
republican candidate who received massive support from them.
It seems no one cares these days about work and living to the
dream. When asked what they do in the office, a commissioner
dismisses the question that office is more important than the
work. The leaders closely elaborate that having the office in
place makes it easier for the institution to work rather than
having an individual to work. It means a leader should be there,
but the institution the leader prescribes over is the one with the
mandate to work.
