Thesis Statement
Good ethical conduct is essential in success of an organization; however, everyone does not have the same values.
· Explain what strategies you used to formulate a viable argument.
I used a strategy that would create an argument that make sense, and that link in a logical and practical way, I am using the logos strategy which is the logical appeal, strategic use of logic, claims, and evidence to persuade an audience of a certain point. That way my argument will have strong, clear claims, warrants that are valid, and clear explanations for claims, and strong evidence.
· Explain how you plan to support your thesis statement with compelling arguments and counterarguments
I plan to support my thesis with compelling arguments and counter arguments by looking for opposing viewpoints and finding evidence to contradict them. I am going to address any prejudice or fallacies that I may come upon. I am going to find the strongest possible proof to support my claims. I will also make sure I take detailed notes while gathering information for my research and make sure the information is current.

Ethics in business begin as far back as Plato and Aristotle. Responsibilities at work, which include adherence to duty, self-control and transparency against those who want to bribe or make secret deals are good ethics and values. For many people, religion provides the basis of an ethical code. “Thou shalt not steal” obviously this also applies in the workplace.

Research Plan
As part of your Research Plan, you must draft a research question for your research paper. A research question, which is more specific and focused than a general topic, is the question that you will answer in your paper. For example, if your general area of interest is Social Security, a potential research question might ask, “How might low-income families save more money under a reformed Social Security plan that includes personal retirement accounts?”
As you develop a research question, keep in mind that you will research sources with both supporting and differing viewpoints. Do not select a narrow or one-sided issue that will limit your research; instead, develop a research question that lends itself to further exploration and debate.
What is your topic or area of interest?
Ethics is my topic of interest because people tend to ignore ethics in most of the areas that surround their lives. A person tends to ask what ethics mean and what the purpose in our lives does it play. By definition, ethics are the moral principles that governs a person’s behavior or principles (Moore E, 1995).
In what ways is this topic appropriate for a persuasive essay?
In one way or another, ethics is an appropriate topic to talk about and discuss the positive and negative part. Recently, it has brought very many arguments and different views of different people (William K, 1973).
What is your research question?
My research question is, should ethical values be really followed or not?
How is your research question significant or relevant to the wider community?
In my opinion, ethical values should be followed by most people in the society. It also helps people to stay together in work, public places and interacting in different manners. In the wider community, ethics helps in establishing the hierarchy in working posts, trusting people with each other’s research work and also it builds a basic foundation of friendships and living together. Also in the wider community, it helps in economic growth in a society and the country at large (Benn Piers, 1998).
What background information provides the preliminary grounds for your research?
Background information was used to find out how ethics changed from the origin to the present. From the 16th century to the present, ethics has undergone a steady but gradual change in terms of living and way of living. The constant change has laid a very good foundation in setting a background information for researching about ethics.
What are some expert or authoritative sources of information for your topic?
Books and articles such as (Benn Piers, 1998) and (Moore E, 1995).
What types of materials do you expect to review for your research paper?
I plan to use articles, books, and magazines. Any credible resources that will support my research.
What procedures will you follow to conduct your research?
I will use Appendix C the sta.

For your final paper you will write a research paper on Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart. Your
argument will be part of a feminist, psychoanalytic, or postcolonial critical discussion of the text.
You are required to use six secondary sources, four of which are on the novel itself.
The basic process involved in writing a research paper in literature is no different than other kinds
of research papers. Begin with an area of interest, ask questions sparked by that interest, and
formulate a working hypothesis as a response to one or more of those questions.
TOPIC & THESIS
The better you know the text, the easier it will be to find a topic. I highly advise rereading the text
and writing down ideas as you read. Pay attention to recurring themes; ask questions that prompt
and guide further inquiry. To begin your inquiry, use the questions in our critical theory text. One or
more of those questions might lead you to a specific hypothesis of your own, or you might find that
the text allows for an entirely different psychoanalytic or postcolonial reading.
When you have a hypothesis (one that you’ll refine into a strong thesis), start gathering sources.
Begin with searches specific to your topic, and broaden them until you have a sufficient number of
secondary sources to review.
The goal of the research is, first, for you to see how your hypothesis fits into the critical discussion
of your topic. You’ll find that much has been said about the topic, in which case you will need to ask
yourself how you can add to the discussion. You might agree with critics, but come to your
conclusion through different analyses, or you might disagree and make that disagreement your
thesis. It’s also possible that there is very little (or no) critical discussion of your specific topic. In
that case, you are exploring new territory and offering new ways of understanding the text.
The second goal of the research is for you to introduce the critical discussion as context for your
now refined thesis and to continue that discussion throughout your essay, quoting and paraphrasing
criticism wherever it relates to your main ideas.
SOURCES
Primary sources are the literary works themselves, such as Achebe’s Things Fall Apart. Secondary sources
are works that analyze and interpret primary sources or provide relevant information. For this paper,
you are required to use six secondary sources. Four of your sources must discuss the novel itself.
Your other sources might be used for relevant contextual information, relevant concepts, etc. All of
your sources must be scholarly (scholarly books or scholarly articles).
As a student, you have access to a variety of databases through the library website. Use these
databases to search for scholarly articles.
Scholarly articles are written by scholars and experts in a particu.

This document provides guidance on conceptual and theoretical frameworks, literature reviews, hypotheses, and definitions of terms for research. It discusses that frameworks provide perspectives and models used by researchers to organize their work. Theoretical frameworks apply theories to explain phenomena, while conceptual frameworks graphically present concepts and relationships. Literature reviews help establish connections to prior work, theories, and accuracy of research questions. Hypotheses tentatively explain variable relationships and must be testable. Definitions of terms clarify meanings within a study. Organization and criteria are outlined for effective literature reviews.

This document provides an overview of critical thinking, critical reading, and critical writing. It begins by defining critical thinking as clear, rational thinking that involves identifying assumptions, making inferences from evidence, and evaluating arguments. It then discusses aspects of critical reading like identifying arguments, evaluating evidence, and considering alternative viewpoints. The document provides a checklist for critical reading. It also contrasts descriptive and critical writing, noting that critical writing evaluates, argues using evidence, and justifies positions, while descriptive writing mainly reports on content. Examples are given throughout to illustrate key concepts and skills for critical analysis.
This document discusses the review of literature for research. It defines a literature review as exploring previous work on a topic to avoid duplication and provide context. The purposes of a review include avoiding replication, defining problems, justifying credibility, and suggesting further research. It also discusses how to search literature databases, evaluate sources, take notes, organize references, and prepare bibliographies. The key steps outlined are analyzing problems, searching databases, selecting search terms, conducting searches, analyzing sources, and writing the review.

Quantitative Designs
Provide a brief introduction to your paper here. The title serves as your introductory heading no need for a heading titled “Introduction.”
Two Designs
Select two peer reviewed journal articles that utilized different types of quantitative research designs. Briefly describe each of the designs that you selected. Remember to focus on how the research was done not what was studied. Always provide credit for your sources.
Sampling
Include the types of sampling used in each study to conduct the chosen research methods. Sampling is “how” the researchers recruited participants. What type of sampling method was used? Where and how did the recruitment occur? Who needed to give permission?
Comparison of Designs
Similarities and Differences
Explain two similarities and two differences between the designs you selected. Described the similarities and then discuss the differences.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Describe at least one strength and one limitation of each design. Clearly identify which design has what strength or weakness. Support your points.
Comparison Insights
Describe an insight or conclusion you can draw from the comparison. For example, how might you use the designs? What populations, interventions, or research problems might be better suited for one or the other design?
Ethical, Legal and Socio-Cultural Considerations
Explain any ethical, legal, and socio-cultural considerations that may be relevant for the designs you selected. Remember this section is ethical, legal, and sociocultural so you need to discuss all three. In addition, you need to support your points with scholarly support, such as the ethical code, laws, etc.
Conclusion
Your conclusion section should recap the major points you have made in your work. However, perhaps more importantly, you should interpret what you have written and what the bigger picture is. Remember your paper should be 2 - 3 pages not counting your title page and reference page. Please do not exceed three pages of content.
Save your Application as a ".doc" or ".rtf" file with the filename APP4+your first initial+last name. For example, Sally Ride’s assignment filename would be "APP4SRide". Use the "Submit an Assignment" link, choose the Week 4: Application basket, and then add your Application as an attachment.
References
Always include references. Be sure every reference is in APA format with a hanging indent. Also, every citation should have a reference and vice versa. Use the APA manual, the Citation Guide or some source to verify your format. APA is very specific about punctuation and how elements of the reference are presented.

a paper and sometimes done as a mini-
assignment, perhaps setting the frame
for a broader paper, exposing students
to the breadth of information available
on a topic area, or demonstrating skills
in critical thinking and writing ability.
However, there are some
general guidelines to follow
when writing a literature re-
view. This article will briefly
outline key points for you to
keep in mind when writing
literature reviews for social
work.
Getting Ready
To begin with, you
will need to ascertain the
purpose of the literature
review. At the very least, be
aware of the purpose, scope,
and length of the literature review, as
well as the writing requirements. This
requires clarifying the purpose (Is it to
simply overview a broad or specific area of
inquiry, or is it expected to be comprehensive
or systematic?), scope (How much informa-
tion is needed—three scholarly sources? Five
or 10 sources? Are there any limits to the
inquiry? Perhaps a focus on distinct ethnici-
ties or time periods?), and length (Is the
final review expected to yield one page or
10 pages of review?). You should also be
familiar with required writing styles, such
as American Psychological Association
(APA), and other expectations, such as
double spacing, font size, and so forth.
Once purpose, scope, length, and writing
expectations are ascertained, you can
embark on conducting your search for
literature.
The Search
Searching for literature is quite easy
these days. Today, much information
is available electronically, and you can
obtain literature just about anytime and
anywhere. To begin the search, take ad-
vantage of library resources available to
you through your college or university.
Libraries often offer group or personal-
ized training in accessing information,
and librarians are often available to help
on specific topic assignments, as well. If
you are a student, you will be exposed
to search engines and databases such as
Social Work Abstracts and procedures for
accessing or requesting books, journal
articles, and reports that relate to your
topic.
Although information is also widely
available through the World Wide Web,
not every site offers credible informa-
tion. You can learn from your library
about criteria to evaluate the legitimacy
of information. One increasingly popular
source of information is Google Scholar
(www.googlescholar.com). This site has ac-
cess to professional journal lis.
This illustrated lesson provides students with many illustrations, hyperlinked articles, and essential questions that they can use to create their own PowerPoint project about longevity and healthy living.

Finding Sources of EvidenceAn important step in the EBP process .docxRAJU852744
Finding Sources of Evidence
An important step in the EBP process is reviewing the current body of literature to better understand the subject or topic in which you are interested. By conducting a review of the literature, you are building foundational knowledge about the topic; later, you can use this background to build new insights. Developing a strong grasp of a topic can only be garnered by taking the time to thoroughly search for relevant information and resources.
For this Discussion, you will practice searching the literature to find evidence on a specific topic.
To prepare:
Choose a simple search term(s) relating to a topic of your PICOT question.
Review the information on the evidence hierarchy discussed in Chapter 2 of the course text, in the article, “Facilitating Access to Pre-Processed Research Evidence in Public Health,” and in the multimedia presentation “Hierarchy of Evidence Pyramid,” found in this week’s Learning Resources.
Review the information on the Walden Library’s website, “Levels of evidence.” Take a few minutes to explore the different types of databases available for each level of evidence and focus on the meaning of filtered and non-filtered resources.
Conduct a literature search in the Walden Library on your selected topic using the databases that you reviewed. Use at least one database for each of the three levels of filtered information and at least one unfiltered database. Record the number of hits that you find at each level of the hierarchy of evidence.
Select one article from the results at each level of the hierarchy. Compare the articles based on the quality and depth of information. What would be the value of each resource if you were determining an evidence-based practice?
Post a summary of your search. Describe what topic you selected, the search term(s) that you used, and the number of results found at each level of the hierarchy. Compare the types of information found in the articles from different levels and the value of the information from each level. Highlight a useful tip that you could share with your colleagues about conducting an effective literature search.
Read a selection of your colleagues’ responses.
Respond to at least two of your colleagues on two different days using one or more of the following approaches:
Share an insight from having read your colleagues’ postings, synthesizing the information to provide new perspectives.
Validate an idea with your own experience and additional sources.
Make a suggestion based on additional evidence drawn from readings, or after synthesizing multiple postings.

Explore the Issue Papers
You will choose a topic from the Complete Marriage and Family Home Reference Guide to study more closely. In 4–6 pages, you will compare current knowledge with facts from research and then examine the chosen topic from both a psychological and a theological perspective.
1. Briefly provide your initial thoughts on the topic. This section will not require source material. The purpose is simply for you to identify what you know about this topic. You may discuss facts, a biblical perspective, the moral dilemma involved in the topic, or just your thoughts around the topic. This section must be 1 page.
2. Look at the research that has been done on the topic. This section must be well-organized with headings and subheadings and must include at least 4 empirical sources. This section must be 2–3 pages. You may consider, but are not confined to, the following prompts and questions:
· Check some of what you know against what research has to say. How could this topic affect a marriage or family?
· What are benefits and consequences of approaching this topic and working through it within the affected family unit?
3. Compare the psychological and theological perspectives of the topic. The point here is to compare what the research says about the topic to what the Bible says about the topic. Not all of the topics from "The Quick-Reference Guide to Marriage and Family Counseling" are directly mentioned in the Bible. However, you may use biblical principles and discuss similarities and discrepancies found between these 2 perspectives. This section must be 1–2 pages.
4. The conclusion of this paper must include a good summary of the information provided in the preceding 3 sections. You must also provide an idea for future study of the topic. What further information could be provided in relation to this topic? For example, what are some variables that play a part of depression in marriage? Is depression within marriage easier to work through if the depression is a result of a mood disorder or of circumstances outside of the marriage?
5. Correct current APA formatting must be implemented throughout this paper, including avoiding first person and using properly formatted citations and headings. A title page and references page must be included; however, an abstract will NOT be necessary for this assignment. Assignment instructions and the grading rubric must be carefully reviewed to ensure that all assignment criteria are met.

In an environment of compliancy laws, regulations, and standards, information technology (IT) departments in organizations must develop comprehensive organizational policies to support compliance. One specific area in which they must develop policies is the governance of fiduciary responsibility. Scenario: As changes occur in compliancy laws, regulations, and standards regularly, IT management of YieldMore has decided to evaluate the governance of fiduciary responsibility within the organization as it pertains to the IT department. Your team has been assigned the task of evaluating how the governance of fiduciary responsibility affects the organization’s risk. Tasks: You are asked to identify the relationship between fiduciary responsibility and organizational risk, and present this information to the IT management of YieldMore.
1. Identify key stakeholders, their roles and responsibilities, and the impact of fiduciary responsibility on each.
2. Determine the relationships among these stakeholders, the relationship between fiduciary responsibility, and organizational risk for each.
3. Distinguish the identified relationships as they relate to strategic, operational, and compliancy goals for the organization.
4. Develop an appropriate plan to govern fiduciary responsibility for the organization.
5. Prepare a report of your findings for IT management to review.

In American politics, people often compare their enemies to Hitler o.docxcharisellington63520
In American politics, people often compare their enemies to Hitler or to the Nazis. Many Democrats compared Trump to a "fascist," and Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez famously compared child detention facilities to "concentration camps." (Republicans claimed this was an unfair comparison and disrespectful to the real victims of the Holocaust.) On the other hand, Republicans often claim that their Democratic enemies are like Hitler, and often whine that "the Left" is persecuting them similar to how the Nazis persecuted the Jews ("cancel culture" is like the Holocaust, wearing a mask is like wearing a yellow star, etc.). Obviously these are exaggerated, bad comparisons, and are more about scoring political points than teaching history accurately.
But is it
always
wrong and disrespectful to draw comparisons or lessons from the Holocaust? Isn't it possible--while being respectful and acknowledging all the differences that make the Holocaust uniquely horrible--to try to draw lessons from it and prevent anything like it in the future? What comparisons or lessons for the present, if any, can we learn from the Holocaust?
Using specific evidence/examples/comparisons from the primary source you analyzed, please make a specific argument about a lesson or comparison
you might draw from the Holocaust. I'm not interested in your general/vague opinions about politics or Holocaust comparisons. I want you to carefully and respectfully (not politically) draw a lesson from something you learned in your document/film.

American opinion has indeed shaped politic consequences, political interests, and policymaking. Even with little or no interest in policymaking and politics, the assumption of democracy gives the citizens the power to freely air out their issues and give their opinion in matters of political concern. Taking the war in Iraq, it posed a significant economic and political imbalance. However, support from the politicians was negligible. And because a majority of the Americans opposed the war in Iran, they voted for a Democratic congressional candidate. Their opinion played a great deal in making concrete policies in response to the war in Iraq.
Public opinion is a reflection of the citizens’ view on how the government responds to national politics. Political actions are driven by the citizen’s opinion (Erikson, & Tedin, 2015). It sheds light on the outcomes of specific policies and helps the political candidates identify the characters demanded of them by the citizens. Political scholars argued that the perception of old public opinions was changed because of ambiguity and inaccuracy (Dür, 2019). Modern theories came to identify public opinion as either latent or a broad expression. Latent opinions are formed on the spot, while broad expressions are opinions that had earlier been formed and remained stable (Cantril, 2015).
When convincing policymakers, it proves difficult, interest groups may indirectly influence public opinion. They can achieve this through the media, holding rallies, or handing out leaflets to the public (Dür, 2019). Because the citizens have little or no information on policymaking, they can easily be swayed by interest groups. Interest groups can, therefore, successfully source their support from public opinion or not.
Public opinion remains relevant in American politics. Journalists, politicians, and political scientists should focus on getting the public’s opinion on state affairs. In as much as views might differ or change, establishing a common ground will help in policymaking (Dür, 2019). For the war in Iraq, the Democratic gained power over the senate and House. This was greatly influenced by the failure of public support that shifted the pro-Democratic in 2006 and the 2008 elections. Because opinions are not fixed, establishing a connection between public views and political outcomes might be impossible.

for this week.
Scenario:
In addition to your role on the Child Study Team, you are also a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MDT). This team is preparing to meet because while the Tier Two Interventions have been helpful, Manuel is still struggling with his reading fluency and his writing, and is continuing to fall further behind. The MDT has received the signed and dated formal permission for referral from Manuel's parents and the school psychologist has conducted an academic achievement evaluation as described in your text. One of your roles as the special education inclusion teacher in your school is to translate the results of all the assessments in a way that is understandable to parents, the child, and to the regular education teacher. Another aspect of your role is to write the Initial Referral to the MDT such as the one described on p. 112 of the text. Finally, in your role as the special education inclusion teacher you are tasked with reviewing the results of all the assessments in order to to help the Manuel, his parents and his other teachers to understand the various strategies that are recommended based on his assessment outcomes.
You have reviewed the RTI data collected to date, including the informal observations of Mr, Franklin and Manuel's other teachers and samples of his classroom work, and have compared those data to
Part I of the Comprehensive Report
prepared by the school psychologist. That report is located in the Instructor Guidance for this week. The data paint a compelling and congruent picture of Manuel's current academic functioning. You are now ready to write an Initial Referral for Manuel so that his eligibility for special education services can be determined.
Initial Post:
Review the
Initial Referral to the Multi-Disciplinary Team form
on p. 112 and 113 of your text. Compare the information needed for that form with the
Child Study Team Referral Form
that you filled out last week for Manuel. Explain the different functions of the two documents and state how they are alike and how they are different. Then, explain how you plan to share the data on the Initial Referral to the Multi-Disciplinary Team form in a way that Manuel, his parents, and Mr. Franklin can understand. Be sure to include an explanation for why you are the one sharing this information with them. Include pertinent professional or personal real world examples to illustrate your points.

Is Antonio really more important to Bassanio than Portia? Explain why or why not. What do these lines tell us about the value of male friendship vs. marriage in this play? Would Portia be justified in rejecting Bassanio, since later in this scene he gives away the ring she gave him which he swore never to give up? 1 The New Social Worker Spring 007
Considerations in Writing a Literature Review
by Kathy Black, Ph.D.
Literature reviews are ubiquitous in
academic journals, scholarly reports, and
social work education. Students taking
social work courses throughout the cur-
riculum, including Human Behavior and
the Social Environment, Practice, Policy,
and Research classes, are frequently
asked to write literature reviews for a
variety of reasons. Literature reviews are
often done within the context of writing
a paper and sometimes done as a mini-
assignment, perhaps setting the frame
for a broader paper, exposing students
to the breadth of information available
on a topic area, or demonstrating skills
in critical thinking and writing ability.
However, there are some
general guidelines to follow
when writing a literature re-
view. This article will briefly
outline key points for you to
keep in mind when writing
literature reviews for social
work.
Getting Ready
To begin with, you
will need to ascertain the
purpose of the literature
review. At the very least, be
aware of the purpose, scope,
and length of the literature review, as
well as the writing requirements. This
requires clarifying the purpose (Is it to
simply overview a broad or specific area of
inquiry, or is it expected to be comprehensive
or systematic?), scope (How much informa-
tion is needed—three scholarly sources? Five
or 10 sources? Are there any limits to the
inquiry? Perhaps a focus on distinct ethnici-
ties or time periods?), and length (Is the
final review expected to yield one page or
10 pages of review?). You should also be
familiar with required writing styles, such
as American Psychological Association
(APA), and other expectations, such as
double spacing, font size, and so forth.
Once purpose, scope, length, and writing
expectations are ascertained, you can
embark on conducting your search for
literature.
The Search
Searching for literature is quite easy
these days. Today, much information
is available electronically, and you can
obtain literature just about anytime and
anywhere. To begin the search, take ad-
vantage of library resources available to
you through your college or university.
Libraries often offer group or personal-
ized training in accessing information,
and librarians are often available to help
on specific topic assignments, as well. If
you are a student, you will be exposed
to search engines and databases such as
Social Work Abstracts and procedures for
accessing or requesting books, journal
articles, and reports that relate to your
topic.
Although information is also widely
available through the World Wide Web,
not every site offers credible informa-
tion. You can learn from your library
about criteria to evaluate the legitimacy
of information. One increasingly popular
source of information is Google Scholar
(www.googlescholar.com). This site has ac-
cess to professional journal lis.

In addition to reading the Announcements, prepare for this d.docxcharisellington63520
In addition to reading the
Announcements
, prepare for this discussion by reading the
Required Resources
, the
Week Four Instructor Guidance
, and the scenario provided below. In particular, you should review the
Initial Referral to the Multidisciplinary Team form
found on p. 112-113 of your text, the
Child Study Team Referral Form
from week three, and
Part I
of the
Comprehensive Report
found in the
Instructor Guidance
for this week.

In Act 4 during the trial scene, Bassanio says the following lines:
“Antonio, I am married to a wife
Which [who] is as dear to me as life itself;
But life itself, my wife, and all the world
Are not with me esteemed above your life.
I would lose all, ay sacrifice them all
Here to this devil [Shylock] to deliver [save] you.”
And Portia, who hears these lines (though Bassanio doesn’t know it), says,
“Your wife would give you little thanks for that
If she were [near]by to hear you make the offer.”
(Act 4, scene 1, 281-288
Is Antonio really more important to Bassanio than Portia? Explain why or why not. What do these lines tell us about the value of male friendship vs. marriage in this play? Would Portia be justified in rejecting Bassanio, since later in this scene he gives away the ring she gave him which he swore never to give up? (see Act 3, scene 2, lines 167-185) Your response should be about 200-250 words and should include specific references to lines in the play.

This is literally activism through social media and, despite such a negative label, researchers are finding that this actually works! Activism through the medium of social media is having a significant impact. This is just ONE example of many of not only a "mass behavior" but can also fit into all 4 categories of social movements. The individuals involved in this mass behavior/social behavior could easily be examined within the lens of the "contagion theory" as well as the "emergent-norm theory."

Decolonizing Universal Design for LearningFrederic Fovet
UDL has gained in popularity over the last decade both in the K-12 and the post-secondary sectors. The usefulness of UDL to create inclusive learning experiences for the full array of diverse learners has been well documented in the literature, and there is now increasing scholarship examining the process of integrating UDL strategically across organisations. One concern, however, remains under-reported and under-researched. Much of the scholarship on UDL ironically remains while and Eurocentric. Even if UDL, as a discourse, considers the decolonization of the curriculum, it is abundantly clear that the research and advocacy related to UDL originates almost exclusively from the Global North and from a Euro-Caucasian authorship. It is argued that it is high time for the way UDL has been monopolized by Global North scholars and practitioners to be challenged. Voices discussing and framing UDL, from the Global South and Indigenous communities, must be amplified and showcased in order to rectify this glaring imbalance and contradiction.
This session represents an opportunity for the author to reflect on a volume he has just finished editing entitled Decolonizing UDL and to highlight and share insights into the key innovations, promising practices, and calls for change, originating from the Global South and Indigenous Communities, that have woven the canvas of this book. The session seeks to create a space for critical dialogue, for the challenging of existing power dynamics within the UDL scholarship, and for the emergence of transformative voices from underrepresented communities. The workshop will use the UDL principles scrupulously to engage participants in diverse ways (challenging single story approaches to the narrative that surrounds UDL implementation) , as well as offer multiple means of action and expression for them to gain ownership over the key themes and concerns of the session (by encouraging a broad range of interventions, contributions, and stances).

Thesis Statement
Good ethical conduct is essential in success of an organization;
however, everyone does not have the same values.
· Explain what strategies you used to formulate a viable
2. argument.
I used a strategy that would create an argument that make sense,
and that link in a logical and practical way, I am using the logos
strategy which is the logical appeal, strategic use of logic,
claims, and evidence to persuade an audience of a certain point.
That way my argument will have strong, clear claims, warrants
that are valid, and clear explanations for claims, and strong
evidence.
· Explain how you plan to support your thesis statement with
compelling arguments and counterarguments
I plan to support my thesis with compelling arguments and
counter arguments by looking for opposing viewpoints and
finding evidence to contradict them. I am going to address any
prejudice or fallacies that I may come upon. I am going to find
the strongest possible proof to support my claims. I will also
make sure I take detailed notes while gathering information for
my research and make sure the information is current.

5. Ethics in business begin as far back as Plato and Aristotle.
Responsibilities at work, which include adherence to duty, self-
control and transparency against those who want to bribe or
make secret deals are good ethics and values. For many people,
religion provides the basis of an ethical code. “Thou shalt not

Answer the following questions in 150 to 200 words:
How do you determine which information is noteworthy?
Noteworthy means interesting, significant and important, so to
make sure that the information I use for my research paper is
noteworthy, I should research the author, and find information
on his qualification, and expertise, choose articles, and books
that are published by reputable publishers. I should also avoid
bias information, and check the publication dates of the
information. I need to make sure my information from my
sources are interesting, significant, and important.
· How do you determine whether to summarize, paraphrase, or
quote a source?
7. Quoting is the exact wording of the source material you use,
paraphrase is a detailed rephrased in your own words that
should mean the same thing, and a summary is a compacted
version of a passage it presents only the most important or
significant ideas of the passage.
You should quote when you feel that the author has said
something that is outstanding are something you feel that would
be memorable to your audience. However, you should not have
a paper full of quotes because that just tells what the author said
and nothing you have said even though it is an easy way to
include your source material you should use quotes sparingly.
You should paraphrase or summarize, when the wording of the
source is not as important or significant as the meaning of the
source.

Strategies for Gathering Information
12. Fill in the following information for each of your sources:
· List the APA reference citation for the source.
· Determine the credibility of the source. Consider the
following criteria:
· What is the purpose and affiliation of the organization or
author related to the article?
· What are the author’s credentials?
· Is the information current? When the information was last
updated?
· Does the information cross-reference with other sources?
· Does the source contain bias without evidence to support the
claim?
· Explain in at least two to four sentences what information you
can gather from this source.

Address the following in 150 to 200 words:
· What strategies did you use to gather reliable information for
your research paper?
I used my university library mostly because I needed to make
sure that my sources are reliable, and I know if I used sources
out of there they will be peer reviewed. When I gather sources
from the internet I used reliable sources such as .edu. and .gov
because I was told they were credible sources.
· What other strategies might you use? Provide a rationale for
your choices.
Before I start to evaluate and gather information for my topic, I
had to think about what I wanted to focus on in my paper and
the topics that I wanted to talk about, so that gave me an idea of
15. what information i needed the articles, magazines, and books to
provide for me so that is how I made my choice of what sources
to use.

Part 2: Sources for Your Research Paper
· Select two sources from your annotated bibliography that you
did not use for the Week Three assignment.
· Summarize and paraphrase the contents of the two sources,
with the intention of using them in your rough draft. Include at
least one direct quotation from each source, and include in-text
citations for all sources to avoid potential plagiarism.
· Identify how you plant to integrate these sources into your
rough draft.

Organizing Your Research Paper
Once you have researched sources and taken notes, you must
complete the following steps in the research process:
1. Ensure your research is complete.
2. Refine your thesis statement.
3. Organize your research effectively.
4. Strategize to create a compelling way to draw readers into
your argument.
5. Write a rough draft.
6. Utilize feedback to revise your paper.
This stage of the research process may prove to be both
frustrating and exciting as you begin to construct your paper.
Ensuring Your Research Is Complete
19. At this point, you must decide whether you have enough
research and whether your research is complete. To make this
decision, ask yourself the following questions:
· Do I have the required number and types of sources listed in
the assignment?
· Have I met the word-count requirement for my paper?
· Do I have adequate support to defend each of my main points
and to support my thesis?
· Have I used logical reasoning and other persuasive tactics
such as statistics and examples?
· Do I have sources that explain opposing viewpoints? Have I
effectively countered these viewpoints?
· Are at least 80% of the notes I have taken written in my own
words? (No more than 20% of your paper should consist of
direct quotations.)
Even if you answer yes to all of these questions, you may still
find yourself with gaps in your paper. If so, you should complete
more research.
Refining Your Thesis Statement
After all the research is gathered, you may find your position on
the topic has changed. You could change your mind and argue
the other side of your topic, or perhaps you want to maintain the
same point of view but alter the direction of your paper
somewhat. At this time, you need to revisit your thesis
statement and revise it according to your paper’s new direction.
Reread your thesis statement. Your thesis statement needs to be
a claim (your position) about the paper’s topic and include the
20. answer to the questions how or why. Every idea in your paper
should prove or support your thesis. If this is not the case, you
must revise your thesis. Consider the following thesis
statements in their initial forms and in their final forms:
Initial. Outsourcing American jobs to foreign countries is not
helping the American economy.
Final. Outsourcing American jobs to foreign countries has a
negative effect on America because it removes jobs, money, and
resources from the economy.
Initial. More needs to be done about child abuse.
Final. The government should mandate longer prison terms for
abusers to better protect children.
Although the final thesis statements are more challenging than
the original ones, the revised theses might also be refined after
additional research.
Organizing Information Effectively
An outline provides general descriptions of the information that
will appear in your paper. The outline serves the following
purposes:
· It is organized logically to convey the strongest possible
argument.
· It provides a visual picture of the structure of your paper.
· It helps show relationships between and among ideas.
21. In order to create an outline, gather your prewriting as well as
all the information you want to include in the paper. Normally,
you outline only the body paragraphs for your essay. Include
your thesis statement at the top of the outline to ensure you
include only the support that defends or proves your thesis.
You can organize your supporting evidence in different ways,
including the following:
· Logical. This method is the most common way to organize a
research paper. The information in your paper should be
organized in a way that seems understandable to your readers,
with examples and support to validate each point. You might
discuss the history of an issue, for example, followed by a
discussion of current problems and a proposed solution.
· Chronological. If your paper follows a series of steps (1, 2, 3),
then your paper should be organized chronologically. If your
paper argues that more people should consider adoption, for
example, you may want to organize the paper according to the
steps one takes in order to complete an adoption.
· Order of importance. If you want your audience to read your
most compelling evidence first, place it near the front; on the
other hand, if you want your reader to remember your most
compelling evidence, place it near the end. This order places
information in your paper in an order that seems most
compelling to your argument.
No matter which order you choose, you must include examples
and support for each argument. If you make a claim or
statement, you must defend it.
22. Creating a Sentence Outline
For this course, you must create a full-sentence outline. A
sentence outline is an outline in which every point in the outline
is a complete and grammatically correct sentence rather than a
phrase or simple topic.
Depending on the length and detail of your paper, your outline
may include many more points and subpoints (also referred to as
headings and subheadings) than the following example shows.
You must include all your source examples as well as your
arguments and counterarguments. Your sentence outline may
appear similar to the following:
I.
Main point 1 in a complete sentence.
A. Subpoint 1 in a complete sentence.
1. Supporting example 1 in a complete sentence.
2. Supporting example 2 in a complete sentence.
B. Subpoint 2 in a complete sentence.
1. Supporting example 1 in a complete sentence.
2. Supporting example 2 in a complete sentence.
II.
Main point 2 in a complete sentence.
A. Subpoint 1 in a complete sentence.
1. Supporting example 1 in a complete sentence.
23. 2. Supporting example 2 in a complete sentence.
B. Subpoint 2 in a complete sentence.
1. Supporting example 1 in a complete sentence.
2. Supporting example 2 in a complete sentence.
III.
Main point 3 in a complete sentence.
Keep in mind the following when creating an outline:
· Main headings are designated by Roman numerals (I, II, and
so on) followed by periods. Subheadings are indicated by
uppercase letters (A, B, and so on) followed by periods. Support
for subheadings is designated by Arabic numerals (1, 2, and so
on) followed by periods.
· One point can never stand alone: If you have an A, you must
have a B; if you have a 1, you must have a 2; and so forth.
24. · Your outline must be complete and detailed. Remember, you
are writing in complete sentences, and the more information you
include, the easier it will be for you to transfer the information
into paragraph form for your rough draft.
· After you have drafted an outline, revise the arrangement a
little by rearranging the order of topics and subtopics. Place
ideas in the most logical order, so items make sense and
transitions will be easy to add.
For an example of a sentence outline, click the following link

example also illustrates how a section of the sentence outline
might be turned into a paragraph for the rough draft. You will
learn more about drafting your paper later in this course.
Wrap-Up
Although this part of the research process might seem time
consuming and tiresome, it is also a time to be proud to see the
results of your hard work. Using the tips above and taking your
time can help you produce a more effective final paper.
