A Review on Student Result Management SystemIRJET Journal
The document discusses the development of a web-based student result management system. It provides context on the current manual process used at the Catholic University of Mozambique to manage student results. The goal of the new system is to save time, effort and money while improving security. The system was developed using technologies like PHP, MySQL database, Apache Tomcat server, and the MVC architecture pattern. It allows students to check their results and faculty to view pass/fail rates. The document also reviews related literature on existing student information and result management systems and their features.
The study is an online, computer aided tool that was designed primarily for the conduct of online examination. The system
was created using PHP, a web based scripting language, and MySQ
L as the database software. The system focuses on
the automation of students' examinations; preparation, scheduling, checking and grading. A database is provided for the
storage of exam questions, answers to questions and students' records. The system allo
ws instructors to create an exam
by entering questions with its corresponding answers into the database. Instructors are provided with three options on the
type of exam; these include, True or False, Multiple Choice and Fill in the Blanks.
There are three
account types based on the intended users. One is the Administrator Account; this can be used to create
instructor accounts. It can also be used to delete or suspend other accounts based on activity status. The Instructor
Account allows teachers to create
student accounts and enroll the same. This account can be used also to create,
activate, edit, delete exams and monitor students' performances. The Student Account is for the officially enrolled students
where they can take exams and view scores even from
previous examinations.
This software allows instructors to keep track of students' performances from all exams since the results will be stored in a
database linked to an online system. While taking the online exam, students can choose the number of exa
m questions
that will be displayed on the screen at a given time.
A student can take the exam only on the specified date and time set by the instructor. Ideally, a particular exam should be
taken only once. In cases of retakes due to valid reasons and spe
cial exam considerations, the instructor is given the
option to administer the previously activated exam, edit or create a new set of questions.
One limitation though, this online system is not to be used to compute for the class performance for the final
grade since
this requires other components such as seat works, graded recitations, laboratory activities, etc. This only computes and
shows the scores from previous exams and the average.

8. PROBLEM DEFINITION
Many educational institutions face the challenge of efficiently tracking
and evaluating students' academic performance. The existing methods often
involve manual data entry and analysis, leading to inaccuracies and time-
consuming processes. There is a need for a robust and automated system that
can provide a comprehensive indicator of students' academic performance. This
system should address the following key issues Such as:
1.Data Accuracy
2.Student Engagement
3.Security and Privacy
4.Data Availability

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT
10. To make Available required data of student on single click.
To Provide Automated system which deal with academic Learning
assessments of students.
To Provide feedback to students on their strengths and weaknesses.
To make Existing System more time efficient.
Objectives :-
11. METHODOLOGY
The proposed system is based on online webapplication which
include systems in order to monitor the performance of a student in
SND COE & RC, YEOLA. The development of proposed system to
available data at one click as per requirement and need of user. This
system is also to make it easier for users of the system to be able to
view the performance of students.
The System is also be used for the different kind of the
activities used in the educational field with robust and accurately with
less amount of time
12. Traditional method for Student performance indicator system
involves manual on the paper sheet by professors and teachers.
Existing system Based Only on the Grades of the Student only and
does not include other skills and activities.
The Available system have different sources and data at different
location.
It is a very time-consuming process and chances of proxy are also
an issue that arises in such type of result analysis.
Existing System
13. Existing Academic systems are manual.
The data are not available on time at one place.
More manpower is required.
Calculations related to attendance are done manually which is prone to
error or proxy.
It is difficult to maintain a database or register in manual systems.
Disadvantage of Existing System
14. The proposed system is based on online web-application which include
systems in order to monitor the performance of a student in SND COE &
RC,YEOLA.
The development of proposed system to available data at one click as per
requirement and need of user.
This system is also to make it easier for users of the system to be able to
view the performance of students in accordance with the data that is needed
in the process of monitoring.
With the help of indicators ,user or management will be easily understand
by the graphical representation.
This system will allow the students to add new skill and certifications on
their profile.
Proposed System
17. The Proposed System will be automated which requires less Time.
All the Data of Students required for monitoring student performance will
be available at Single Click by using student ID.
This System will provide the Transparency to everyone including students,
Teacher and Management.
Proposed system will use Data Driven Decision Making which helps to
make correct decisions.
Also, this System will provide Accountability for student like Learning,
Research and Certification.
Advantages of Proposed System
18. The result of a Student Performance Indicator system typically
include a variety of a data and insights of related to a students academic
progress and performance. These results can be used by achievements
and identify areas that may required improvement. The system that can
track and display a students grades in Various subjects and Courses.
The system is also supposed to make the resume according to
the students profile and according to the skillset that student has
developed in the Academic.
RESULTS
27. Since there is no such system available in present, our system will
be beneficial for lots of students. Presently our system will be exclusive
to only for Engineering students but in the future, more higher education
students will be able to take advantage of our system and will be able to use
it since we will be adding support for more streams in future updates.
Also our System can be modified/changed to evaluate the
performance of the Faculty also in various manners on depending their
academic teaching performance, papers published, certifications done and
many other parameters.
FUTURE SCOPE
35. The Proposed System will be automated which requires less Time.
All the Data of Students required for monitoring student performance will
be available at Single Click by using student ID.
This System will provide the Transparency to everyone including students,
Teacher and Management.
Proposed system will use Data Driven Decision Making which helps to

Also, this System will provide Accountability for student like Learning,
Research and Certification.
Advantages of Proposed System
36. We are designing Student Performance Indicator Systems to support a success
of study by analysing, designing and implementing Education Systems for improving
Education processes.
This system is expected to help the process of monitoring more effectively
without need to wait for data prepared by the others and it also to decrease low student
performance due to have the number of attendance which exceeds the maximum
specified, grade point average (GPA) which is at the minimum, and it can ensure that
students can be scheduled for thesis examination on time with the number of points.
In addition, there are many features in it that are designed based on the analysis of
the needs of the Management, staff, HOD,Principal which includes create Student List,
Grade Check, Attendance Check, certification, and Generate Reports,Generate
Resume, available on the profile of students.
