Finite element analysis and experimental investigationsiaemedu
The document discusses finite element analysis and experimental testing conducted on small wind turbine blades with different profiles and materials. Finite element analysis was performed on blades constructed of glass fiber reinforced with polyester resin, glass fiber with polyester resin and foam core, and glass fiber with epoxy resin and foam core. Modal analysis determined natural frequencies for the first five vibration modes. Harmonic analysis subjected the blades to wind loads to calculate displacement and stress. Experimental load deflection testing applied cyclic loads at the blade root, mid-section, and tip to measure deflection. Testing showed degradation of material properties over cycles. Analysis and testing identified a blade made from glass fiber, epoxy resin, and foam core as the best performing design.

Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.
ScyllaDB is making a major architecture shift. We’re moving from vNode replication to tablets – fragments of tables that are distributed independently, enabling dynamic data distribution and extreme elasticity. In this keynote, ScyllaDB co-founder and CTO Avi Kivity explains the reason for this shift, provides a look at the implementation and roadmap, and shares how this shift benefits ScyllaDB users.

1. NUCLEAR POWER CORPORATION OF INDIA LTD.
DESIGN OF BI-AXIAL ISOLATED RCC FOOTING (IS 456, 2000)
Building Name
Footing Number:
Node number
COLUMN/PEDESTAL
Length (l, dim. || Z axis ) = 700 mm
Breadth (b, dim. || X axis) = 600 mm
Height of pedestal = 1 m Breadth 6.5 m
Weight of pedestal/column = 10.50 KN
FOOTING
Foot length (L, dim. || Z axis) = 6.75 m
Foot Breadth (B, dim. || X axis) = 6.5 m
Thickness of footing (t) = 750 mm
Clear cover to Reinforcement = 75 mm
Main bar dia of footing = 16 mm
Effective depth of footing = 667 mm Length 6.75 m
Selfweight of the footing = 822.66 KN
Area of Footing(A) = 43.88 m2
Sect mod of foot about Z axis (Zz) = 47.53 m3
Sec mod of foot about X axis (Zx) = 49.36 m3
MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION
Grade of concrete fck = 20 N/mm2
Grade of steel fy = 415 N/mm2
CHECK FOR GROSS BEARING PRESSURE
Safe NET bearing pressure = 1650 KN/m2
Safe gross bearing pr. = 1702.25 KN/m2
(net pr. + depth of foot * soil unit wt)
Unfactored load case number = 215
Axial load from output (P1) = 721.07 KN
Moment about Z axis (Mz) = 200 KN-m
Moment about X axis (Mx) = 2000 KN-m
Depth of top of foot. from ground = 2 m
Unit wt of soil = 19 KN/m3
Weight of soil retained above foot = 1651.29 KN
P = (P1+soil+pedestal+foot selfwt) = 3205.52 KN
Maximum bearing pressure = 117.79 KN/m2
Minimum bearing pressure = 28.33 KN/m2
Hence footing is safe against max gross bearing pr.
DESIGN FORCES
Factored load comb. no. 18
Axial load:(Pu) = 100 KN
Moment about Z axis (Muz) = 100 KN-m
Moment about X axis (Mux) = 5 KN-m
Maximum effective soil pressure pe max
( Pu/Area+ Muz/Zz + Mux/Zx) = 4.48 KN/m2
Minimum effective soil pressure pe min
( Pu/Area - Muz/Zz - Mux/Zx) = 0.07 KN/m2
Design of footing is done using above maximum effective soil pressure

CALCULATION FOR BOTTOM STEEL
Mu about X1 X1 = ( pe max x length2
/2)= 20.52 KN-m per meter
Mulimit = 1228.80 KN-m per meter
The section is singly reinforced
Hence, Ast = 85.468 mm2
Min Ast = 800.400 mm2
(0.12 % for slab, cl 26.5.2.1)
Spacing = 251.20 mm (considering max of above two calculated values of Ast)
pt provided = 0.12 %
Hence provide 16 mm dia bar @ 251 mm c/c parellel to length of footing ( || to Z)
Mu about N1 N1 = ( pe max x length2
/2)= 19.51 KN-m per meter
Calc. Ast = 81.272 mm2
The section is singly reinforced
Min Ast = 800.4 mm2
(0.12 % for slab, cl 26.5.2.1)
Spacing = 251.20 mm (considering max of above two calculated values of Ast)
pt provided = 0.12 %
Hence provide 16 mm dia bar @ 251 mm c/c parellel to breadth of footing ( || to X)
Arrangement of bottom reinforcement as per above design is shown below
