1. We all will live longer
The world should reach 8.5 billion people by 2030. The fastest growing demographic
will be the elderly, with the population of people over 65 years old at 1 billion by 2030.
Most of those new billion will be in the middle class.
2. Two-thirds of us will live in cities.
The urbanization of populations will increase, creating more megacities as well as
small- and medium-size metropolises.
3. The world will become even more open — and less private.
The trend to track everything resulting in a radically more open world. The amount of
information collected on every person, product, and organization will grow
exponentially. Tools used to analyze information will increase and will impact privacy. .

4. The world will be prone to extreme climate changes
The climate will continue to change quickly and feature regular, extreme weather
everywhere. Many highly populated coastal areas will be in consistent trouble, as sea
levels rise.
5. The world will be faced with increasing resource constraints.
Water will be a stressed resource, and it seems likely that many cities will be in a state of
water shortage. The world will rethink usage of materials and will shift to use recycled
content and remanufactured products.
6. Increase use of Clean Tech
The continuing decrease in the cost of clean technologies, will result in shifting to power
sourcing to renewable energy and less on fossil fuels . Electric vehicles will be large part
of transportation driven by dramatic reductions in the cost of batteries and strict
legislation banning fossil-fuel engines.

7. Shift in use of Technology
It is likely every new device will be connected. AI and machine learning will plan
much of our lives and make us more efficient. AI will create new kinds of jobs and
will also eliminate many segments of work.
8. The Global Policies and Organizations
How will global governments and institutions work in sync to aggressively address
health issues, fight climate change, resource pressures, tackle inequality and
poverty.
9. The rise of nationalism and regionalism
The elected government across the world are looking inwards , at their own region
first.

moral responsibility to reduce the damage as much as possible. Engage employees ,
consumers and customers about climate issues through your products ,
communication.

Business leaders should think through how the big shifts impact the people, value
chains, and communities.
• Embrace transparency.
The new generation of employees , customers expect more openness from the
companies they work for and buy from .

The Future
Predicting the future means projecting forward from what’s
already happening.
Our choices matter a great deal, as individuals and through our
organizations and institutions.
Business will play a large role in where the world goes.
Employees, customers, and even investors increasingly demand
that the role of business be a positive one.
