System Development Life Cycle
Student Course Registration Systems Development Life Cycle using Waterfall Model In this project, the requirements are clear and can be planned and documented well before the development starts. Hence, waterfall model is best suited. The waterfall model is a linear sequential flow in which progress is seen as flowing steadily downwards (like a waterfall) through the phases of software implementation. This means that any phase in the development process begins only if the previous phase is complete. The waterfall approach does not define the process to go back to the previous phase to handle changes in requirements. The waterfall approach is the earliest approach and most widely known that was used for software development. Projects which not focus on changing the needed requirements. For example, projects initiated from request for proposals , the customer has a very clear documented requirements . Online participation framework is a web application which runs flawlessly on work area and versatile PCs. It gives a powerful manners by which instructors will have participation records of understudies on their telephones and PCs. Pragmatic sign had outlined the significant relationship identifying with scholarly capacity and understudies' participation. It is reported that students whose attendance records are always low generally have reduced information retention instructed during the lecture.portrayed that understudies' participation records of a course of study can show the understudies' dispositions towards that course, and this could be misused to decide their capacity and devotion to that course. The two manual methods for gauging participation are getting out the names of understudies and the understudies composing their names on the paper themselves utilizing papers and pen .The participation paper is typically flowed round for the understudies in the classes for enrollment. This activity is time squandering and unpleasant. The paper approach for denoting understudies' participation and records are handled and rationed physically by the instructors to perceive the understudies that are either missing or present in a specific class.about developing a new information system for tracking student course registrations. The system is also contain information about students, faculty, and courses. Students would be able to use the system to browse their course’s descriptions and the schedule of classes for each semester, add classes to their schedule, and drop classes from their schedule. The principle issue was that most understudies abet their companions in marking the participation in intermediary. Record of the participation utilizing paper is ineffective, as it includes important documenting framework by the institutional administrat ...

2. INTRODUCTION TO FLOWCHARTING
A flowchart is a graphical representation of an
algorithm.
Flow charting is the first step we take in
understanding a process.
Organized combination of shapes, lines, and text.
Flow charts provide a visual illustration, a picture
of the steps the process undergoes to complete
it's assigned task.
3. BASIC FLOW CHART SYMBOLS
Flowcharts are usually drawn using some standard symbols:-
Start or end of the program
processing function of a program
Input or output operation
Decision making and branching
Connector/ joining of two parts of program.
Donates operation/activity flow.
4. BENEFITS OF FLOWCHART
Promote understanding of a process by
explaining the steps pictorially. People may have
differing ideas about how a process works. A
Flowchart can help you gain agreement about the
sequence of steps. Flowcharts promote understanding
in a way that written procedures cannot do. One good
Flowchart can replace pages of words.
Provide a tool for training employees. Because of
the way they visually lay out the sequence of process
steps, Flowcharts can be very helpful in training
employees to perform the process according to
standardized procedures.
5. Identify problem areas and opportunities for
process improvement. Once you break down the process
steps and diagram them, problem areas become more
visible. It is easy to spot opportunities for simplifying
and refining your process by analyzing decision points,
redundant steps, and rework loops.
Customer-service provider relationships, helping
the process workers to understand who their customers
are, and how they may sometimes act as service
providers and sometimes as customers in relation to
other people.
6. LEVELS OF FLOWCHART
Macro level. The top leadership may not need the
amount of detail required by the workers in a process. A
"big picture," or macro-level, view of the process may be
enough for their purposes.
Micro level. People trying to improve the way a job
is done need a detailed depiction of process steps.
The micro-level, or ground-level, view provides a very
detailed picture of a specific portion of the process
by documenting every action and decision. It is
commonly used to chart how a particular task is
performed
7. MACRO FLOWCHART FOR BANASTHALI
UNIVERSITY ADMISSION PROCESS
Banasthali adopted two mediums for the admission process
which are:-
1. online application
2. offline application
1. Online application :- The potential students are going
through the process of online admission where they
have to register themselves on the official website of
Banasthali University and require to submit all key
details and documents in order to get online
registration no. respectively. Then after, the data is
stored of a registered person by the respective
department for the further procedure of admission.
8. 2. Offline application :- It is the application in
which the admission department of Banasthali sell
their admission form i.e prospectus either through
bookstores or by their respective department .They
specifies the condition(The one who has been taken
the form is require to submit the form before the last
date and the document must be authenticated and
completed) which must be fulfilled in order to get
registration no. according to the student applied for
a course. Then the department scan the OMR sheet
of each student to get their information stored for
the further procedure .

14. Disadvantages Of Using flowcharts
Complex logic: - Sometimes, the program logic is
quite complicated. In that case, flowchart becomes
complex and clumsy
Alterations and Modifications: - If alterations are
required the flowchart may require re-drawing
completely.
Reproduction: - As the flowchart symbols cannot be
typed, reproduction of flowchart becomes a problem.
15. Trouble spots in macro and micro
flowchart
1. Scanning of OMR sheet-
Many OMR sheets do not detect properly, because of
improper filling of its circle. So problems arises in
identifying candidate name, date of birth, passing
year etc. so we need to cross check it and reject those
forms. This creates boredom and duplicity of work
16. 2. Merit generate-
The criteria set by the department for merit (say
70%) creates problem in admission process as, the
candidates (less than 70%) who applied for the
college were not eligible and so it is required to
generate the 2nd list to fill the remaining seats.
Hence, it is consumptive of time and energy.
3. Marks Verification-
Marks mentioned by the candidate in an
admission form should match the marks given in
mark sheet. Moreover, the marks of a mark sheet
should be verified from an authorised
board/university.
17. Lesson learned
Team work and mutual participation by each member of team.
How to convert processed data into information efficiently and
effectively.
Effective decision making by taking mutual interest into concern.
Learned practical application of flow chart and whole admission
process.
We able to understand the types of flowchart and the admission
criteria of our university through graphical representation.
Furthermore, flowchart gives an eye-catching view of the whole
process.
It gives proper understanding and develops creativity and skills
among team members.
