It also addresses frequently asked questions about how EdifyOnline screens candidates, monitors performance, and helps facilitators familiarize themselves with course content.
The document discusses strategies for improving student success in online programs through effective faculty members. It outlines four key strategies: 1) Educating and certifying faculty in online teaching methods; 2) Providing students with support materials to set them up for success; 3) Leveraging assessments to evaluate student and faculty performance; 4) Conducting periodic evaluations of faculty to provide feedback and opportunities for improvement. Implementing these strategies can help ensure faculty members are effective in promoting student success in online learning environments.
A lack of access to educational resources is a challenge for many students. A proposed solution is to develop an open educational resources (OER) platform that provides free, high-quality learning materials for all subjects and grade levels. The platform would utilize advanced technologies like virtual and augmented reality to bring subjects to life. Educators and subject matter experts from around the world would contribute materials. The goal would be to make a comprehensive catalog of educational resources available to any student with an internet connection.
The document outlines the key elements of a successful online faculty development program based on the State University of New York Learning Network's (SLN) experience. The Development and Usability Evaluation of a Standards-Based Grading Tool fo...Alaa Sadik
The document summarizes a study that developed and evaluated a standards-based grading tool called RealGrade for faculty at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman. The tool aimed to streamline grading practices and facilitate standards-based assessment. Researchers conducted interviews and focus groups to determine faculty needs, then developed RealGrade to automate grading, enable qualitative assessment, and generate reports. 116 faculty tested the tool and completed a questionnaire finding RealGrade effective, efficient, and satisfactory overall, with more computer-experienced and less experienced instructors viewing it most positively. Interviews provided additional insights. Researchers concluded RealGrade supports standards-based assessment but report cards need improvement and more research is needed to address instructor differences.

- Several universities piloted the approach, finding students engaged more with feedback and tutors had more information on student performance. However, training and support were needed for full implementation.
The document outlines 10 things that could be improved about Minnesota Online, such as establishing common course evaluations, tuition rates, and accessibility training for faculty. It also suggests providing more flexible scheduling and degree options for students, as well as better information sharing between participating institutions to make Minnesota Online function more like a coordinated system through increased cooperation and resource sharing. The key debate is whether institutions should opt into Minnesota Online and follow common guidelines to receive benefits or remain independent in their online efforts.
This is Part 2 of the workshop pair
In these unprecedented times, the face of higher education is rapidly changing, and our learning centers must adapt to find ways to help our students (the privileged and underprivileged) engage effectively with technology. The realities of how we support students and the services we offer them must adapt to the current shifts to online learning in their content courses. We must expand upon existing online services and/or develop new ones. We must also support/train our staff members to manage the new ways in which our learning centers must operate.
Learning centers professionals are going to have to think of ways to deliver services 100% online. We need to think about our staff (students and professionals) and how we train them as well as the ways in which we engage our students who might be struggling with the demands of shifting to new modes of learning.
Part 1 - Identifying Immediate Needs
How we can triage and respond in real time to a rapidly evolving change to our operations?
Part 2 - Planning for the Long-term
How do we reflect, assess, resource for sustainability, and plan for future change?
This document discusses eLearning and its implementation in organizations. It provides an overview of eLearning, noting that it enhances organizational learning but is not a substitute for classroom training. It then lists some benefits of eLearning such as reducing costs and increasing access and flexibility. The document discusses factors to consider in implementation like leadership support and user preparedness. Abstract
This project, which aims to develop a professional portfolio for teacher educators and student teachers, is in its budding stage. The focus is to develop a Learning Management System with many of the social networking features.Student teachers can upload products including My Teaching Philosophy, Reflective Journal, Lesson Plans, Teaching Video and Photos in addition to detailed personal and academic profiles,.Every product is uploaded with a reflective note and there is a provision for comments and feedback. A major feature is to make performance assessment strategies as an integral part of the portfolio system. The self, peer, and mentor assessmentsare carried out using rubrics. Login to the system is also allowed for educational institutions, employers and guests and the public. It is expected that the system works as an effective tool for engaging student teachers and teacher educators to create and share a pool of pedagogical knowledge.

Frequently Asked Questions FAQ
Will I get to vet my edify person? How does Edify screen
candidates?
Edify candidate is required to complete a profile consisting of their education and experience. This includes diplomas, courses taken, resum
fications and experiences in education research or teaching before they can apply for any position. Edify uses a three gate check system for
uating, validating and approving candidates. Once a candidate applies for an opportunity, his/her application makes its way into a pre-screen
or its initial review by Edify staff. The gate system works, as below:
ATE 1: Edify conducts EEP (education/experience/performance) check on candidate before proposing the candidate to institution’s faculty/
dministrator. This eliminates non-qualified individuals from the pool. Once approved the application qualifies to pass through GATE 1 to GAT
ATE 2: Edify uses a pre-qual process to get an approval from institution’s admin and/or faculty. Qualification requirements can be
USTOMIZED for each individual course or held standard across the institution. Institutions review candidates in Gate 2 with an option to reje
r accept. Institutions may choose to interview applicants at this time If an applicant is accepted, an automatic approval process creates an
cceptance certificate for a specific course. The acceptance certificate remains attached to specific courses for later reference. Accepted
pplicants passes through GATE 2 to GATE 3.*
ATE 3: Edify conducts the final check on degrees and background information. The qualified candidate passes through GATE 3 to a pool of
ccepted Candidates. At this stage, a candidate is available to be selected by the institution for a facilitation engagement.
otes:
*Acceptance of a candidate in GATE 2 is not a guarantee of a facilitation opportunity.
Rejected or unmatched candidates are stored in a pool of unmatched candidates for reference.
The complete process is customizable per each institutions requirements.
