This document discusses the design of a sewage treatment plant for the town of Ulavapadu, India to address the problems of increasing pollution and diseases due to rising population. The author analyzes the current sewage parameters and designs the treatment plant with primary, secondary and tertiary units including screens, grit chambers, sedimentation tanks, aeration tanks and sludge digestion. The plant is designed to treat the sewage of the projected future population of 26,710 people over the next 40 years.
