With so many health problems prevalent in today's world, maintaining personal health should be of great importance. While the number of patients is large, the number of doctors is relatively small. As a result, diagnosis is delayed and some patients are neglected. This increases the patient's confidence in the doctor for regular checkups. With all these issues in mind, healthcare systems are starting to connect to the IoT to maintain a digital identity for each patient. Many health problems are undiagnosed in the healthcare sector due to a shortage of doctors/caregivers and lack of access to healthcare. On the other hand, these IoT-based medical systems allow patients and doctors to continuously monitor and easily analyze patient data. This article provides an overview of the role of the Internet of Things in healthcare related to pandemic disease COVID-19.

Efficient machine learning classifier to detect and monitor COVID-19 cases b...IJECEIAES
In this research work, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been considered to help mankind survive the present-day pandemic. This research is helpful to monitor the patients newly infected by the virus, and patients who have already recovered from the disease, and also to study the flow of virus from similar health issues. In this paper, an internet of things (IoT) framework has been developed for the early detection of suspected cases. This framework is used for collecting and uploading symptoms (data) through sensor devices to the physician, data analytics center, cloud, and isolation/health centers. The symptoms of the first wave, second wave, and omicron are used to identify the suspects. Five machine learning algorithms which are considered to be the best in the existing literature have been used to find the best machine learning classifier in this research work. The proposed framework is used for the rapid detection of COVID-19 cases from real-world COVID-19 symptoms to mitigate the spread in society. This model also monitors the affected patient who has undergone treatment and recovered. It also collects data for analysis to perform further improvements in algorithms based on daily updated information from patients to provide better solutions to mankind.

Framework for propagating stress control message using heartbeat based iot re...IJECEIAES
Abnormal level of stress is the root indicator factor to have significant impact over the health of heart and there is a close relationship between the stress levels with heart rate. Review of the existing literature showcase that there has been various work that has been carried out towards investigation of considering heart rate with an internet-of-things (IoT) system. Apart from this, existing system doesnt offer any instantaneous solution where certain intimation is offered in real-time to the user with wearables as a solution to control the stress condition. Therefore, the current paper introduces a novel framework where the sampled heart rates of the patients are captured by IoT deivices. The aggregated data are further forwarded to the cloud analytic system that uses correlation to extract the appropriate message. The system after being applied with teh machine learning approach could further extract the elite outcome followed by forwarding the contextual data to teh user. Using an analytical modelliig, the proposed system shows that it offers better accuracy and reduced processing time when compared with other machine learning approach and thereby it proves to be cost effective solution in IoT system over medical case study.

The proposed protocol establishes a secure key between IoT devices in a smart healthcare facility for COVID-19 patients. It uses a lightweight authentication and key agreement protocol using physically unclonable functions (PUFs) and cryptographic primitives. The protocol has three phases: user registration, device registration, and mutual authentication and key establishment. It aims to securely authenticate doctors/users and sensor devices, prevent attacks like man-in-the-middle and replay attacks, and establish a secret session key. The protocol analysis shows it provides security properties like authentication, confidentiality, integrity and anonymity with low computation and communication overhead suitable for IoT medical applications.

Internet of things in public healthcare organizations: the mediating role of ...IAESIJAI
Internet of things (IoT) is a promising technology to face the challenges of COVID19 and enhance the capacities of public hospitals. However, few of the literature examined the behavioural intention (BI) of patients to use the IoT wearable health device (IoTWHD). This paper aims to examine the factor that affect the BI toward using the IoTWHD. The study proposes that variables of Technology acceptance model (TAM3) along with unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) can explain the BI. The population is the patients of public hospitals. Convivence sampling was deployed to collect the data using a questionnaire. 161 respondents participated in this study. The finding of Smart Partial Least Square showed that subjective norms (SN) affected the perceived usefulness (PU). Perceived enjoyment (PE) affected the perceived ease of use (PEOU). Further, PU, PEOU and perceived security (PS) affected the BI to use IoTWHD. Attitude mediated the effect of PU and PEOU on BI. More positive word of mouth are needed to enhance the perception of patients about BI to use IoTWHD in public health organizations.

Early coronavirus disease detection using internet of things smart systemIJECEIAES
The internet of things (IoT) is quickly evolving, allowing for the connecting of a wide range of smart devices in a variety of applications including industry, military, education, and health. Coronavirus has recently expanded fast across the world, and there are no particular therapies available at this moment. As a result, it is critical to avoid infection and watch signs like fever and shortness of breath. This research work proposes a smart and robust system that assists patients with influenza symptoms in determining whether or not they are infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). In addition to the diagnostic capabilities of the system, the system aids these patients in obtaining medical care quickly by informing medical authorities via Blynk IoT. Moreover, the global positioning system (GPS) module is used to track patient mobility in order to locate contaminated regions and analyze suspected patient behaviors. Finally, this idea might be useful in medical institutions, quarantine units, airports, and other relevant fields.

#StopBigTechGoverningBigTech: More than 170 Civil Society Groups Worldwide Oppose Plans for a
Big Tech Dominated Body for Global Digital Governance.
Not only in developing countries but also in the US and EU, calls for stronger regulation of Big Tech
are rising. At the precise point when we should be shaping global norms to regulate Big Tech, plans
have emerged for an ‘empowered’ global digital governance body that will evidently be dominated
by Big Tech. Adding vastly to its already overweening power, this new Body would help Big Tech
resist effective regulation, globally and at national levels. Indeed, we face the unbelievable prospect
of ‘a Big Tech led body for Global Governance of Big Tech’.

Future Teacher Training of Several Universities with MOOCs as OER
Abstract
To train future Austrian teachers in using digital media, a novel didactic design was
implemented at several universities in Austria in summer semester 2019: The course includes
the participation in a MOOC (massive open online course) on the topic, an accompanying
group work at the universities and multiple-choice tests conducted at the universities. In the
summer semester of 2020, due to the COVID-19 crisis, the group work and exams had to be
switched to virtual space as well. Because the course materials are available under an open
license, i.e. as open educational resources, further use is possible and offered.

In response to the urgency and scale required to effectively address climate change, open source solutions offer significant potential for driving innovation and progress. Currently, there is a growing demand for standardization and interoperability in energy data and modeling. Open source standards and specifications within the energy sector can also alleviate challenges associated with data fragmentation, transparency, and accessibility. At the same time, it is crucial to consider privacy and security concerns throughout the development of open source platforms.
This webinar will delve into the motivations behind establishing LF Energy’s Carbon Data Specification Consortium. It will provide an overview of the draft specifications and the ongoing progress made by the respective working groups.
Three primary specifications will be discussed:
-Discovery and client registration, emphasizing transparent processes and secure and private access
-Customer data, centering around customer tariffs, bills, energy usage, and full consumption disclosure
-Power systems data, focusing on grid data, inclusive of transmission and distribution networks, generation, intergrid power flows, and market settlement data
Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.
