This document summarizes a student project to assess damage to 3 bridges in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal and recommend retrofitting strategies. The project involves reviewing literature on bridge damage assessment, conducting field investigations to gather bridge condition data using visual inspections and non-destructive testing, analyzing the data using structural engineering principles, and formulating retrofitting strategies for each bridge based on the damage assessments. The expected outcomes are to identify any structural issues, perform load and risk analyses, recommend maintenance or repairs, and assess remaining service life.
