On June 17th, we will be able to see the premiere of the second season of The House of the Dragon on Max, the flagship series that followed Game of Thrones and generates as much interest as George RR Martin’s original fiction. And, despite having some controversies regarding its alleged low budget this past season, it seems that the story continues to move forward, full steam ahead.

As announced by Max, The House of the Dragon will have a third season. They have already given the green light to start working on it, and it is expected that this time we will have to wait a little less to see it, compared to the time that has passed between season 1 and 2.

House Targaryen goes to war

“We couldn’t be more excited to continue the story of House Targaryen and see how this team rises again with strength in the third season“, explained the Head of Dramatic Series and Movies at HBO, regarding the renewal of the third season.

It should be noted that The House of the Dragon is not the only project from the Game of Thrones universe that will soon arrive on the Max streaming platform. There is another series on the way, The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is currently in full production. And it’s not the only one: they are developing several other series set in Westeros that are expected to receive the green light to proceed at some point.

It is clear that Max does not want to throw away all the success he had with Game of Thrones, despite its controversial ending that we hope the next books by Martin, if they ever come out, will fix. However, all these comings and goings in this universe have their own timing, so for now we will have to continue enjoying La Casa del Dragón to the fullest.
