Max is a streaming service from WarnerMedia Entertainment. It offers an outstanding mix of premium HBO series, new originals, a catalog of famous and classic movies from AT&T-owned brands, cartoon, and anime shows. Offline downloads, parental controls, and multiple user profiles are among the other top video streaming features included in HBO Max. However, it currently lacks 4K content and doesn't provide audio descriptions.

What is Max?

Max is the latest subscription service to bear the HBO moniker, but you may be unsure how they vary. HBO announced that it would no longer support HBO Go and that all HBO Go viewers would be migrated to Max. HBO Now has been dubbed HBO. If you just want HBO's original material, HBO is the service to get. Max covers all HBO shows, as well as a wealth of other WarnerMedia material. 

The on-demand streaming service has an extensive content catalog, including the latest and classic HBO series, Max Originals, and select shows and movies from WarnerMedia brands such as Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, DC, CNN, etc. To navigate, head to the Home, Search, and Profile tabs at the bottom of your screen. The Profile section contains the app's Settings tab. You can monitor your account and billing information, set streaming, update preferences, opt-out of updates, and manage all devices you use to access the app.

On the Home page, you'll find featured shows and movies, as well as content suggestions. You can download 30 episodes or movies at a time. After you started replay, you have 30 days to start viewing an episode or video and 48 hours to finish watching it. You will only get 5 copies of the same show or movie on all of your devices (mobile and web app).

A major rebrand

Following the goal to provide a better depth and breadth of content, HBO is set to replace its streaming platform giant HBO Max with Max—an enhanced version of its predecessor. It will basically capture the essence of HBO Max, such as favorite series like Game of Thrones, Succession, and more, but offer additional shows across various genres and even premieres.

Fret not if you’re an existing HBO Max subscriber, though, as you’ll only need to update your app or download the new one to continue watching your favorite shows. There’s no need to purchase another subscription all over again.

Viewing platform for HBO fans 

Max provides a diverse content collection, including classic HBO series, famous movies, and anime — thanks to HBO's penetration into AT&T's massive network of entertainment brands. Max is remarkable from a technological perspective, too, thanks to the well-designed application, the lack of advertising, offline downloads, and numerous viewing profiles. However, it lacks audio descriptions and doesn't have a lot of 4K content.
