Heavy rock music videos typically feature dark clothing, makeup on both men and women, dark lighting, instruments like guitars and drums, and sometimes depictions of vandalism. These conventions help define the genre. R&B music videos commonly show women in minimal clothing and men in low-rise jeans and tops, with dancing or intimate interactions between men and women. They are usually set in locations like beaches, clubs, or houses. Both genres rely heavily on close-ups, revealing shots, and effects to engage audiences and convey the mood of the song through visuals as well as music.

6. Since the song is divided into 3
main verses, our lyric video will
be divided into 3 scenarios:
6
7. The video starts with a
picture of a city fading in
(night), when the first verse
starts playing, clips of
people walking, billboards,
stoplights, cars driving, and
the smoke present in the
urban environment are
shown. The clips will
probably be in slow motion.
A man is seen wandering the
streets. No visual
characteristic will set him
apart from the setting,
giving the impression to the
viewers that there is nothing
special about him.
7
8. At the beginning of the second
verse, we then cut to an empty
bedroom. It cuts back to the man,
but it looks like he’s heading
somewhere. He gets into the room
on the phrase “I’m somewhere
between faking it and making it”.
He appears in the room writing on
pieces of paper and crumpling
them. He’s all alone in that room
with one light on which is
illuminating the dark environment.
He glances at the ceiling, physically
demonstrating exhaustion, lack of
faith and decision-making.
8
9. The song’s final reflection
piece evokes a sense of hope
and a new beginning, so the
last verse will be
accompanied by the sunrise
in the city. The color switches
from dark navy blue to
lighter tones of gray.
A boat will appear sailing
around the city’s harbor as
the song is finishing, giving a
message of navigating to a
new destiny. We see the city
one last time before it fades
out.
9
10. What sets our treatment
apart is that the art style
that will be used in the video
will change as the song
progresses. The colors,
images, and videos will all
change depending on the
themes talked about in the
verses, making the listener
engaged throughout the
entire video.

12. KEVIN AGUIRRE
Kevin is a self-taught songwriter and
rapper. Writing his first lyrics when he
was 13, Kevin is inspired by the works
of other artists such as Mac Miller and
J. Cole, studying their talent and
creating his unique rap style from his
life experiences.

suffers from delirium”
20. - The Video Creating/Editing activity will take the longest
because we will have to communicate all our ideas to our
editors so they can build a cohesive and artistic lyric video
using only pictures, videos, and their editing skills.
- The most expensive activity is gathering archival footage
as we'll have to purchase the rights and licenses of pictures
and videos online to use in our video.
