1. The financial results for the quarter and year ended 31st March 2024 were approved by the Board in its
meeting held on 24th May 2024. The total income for the fourth quarter of FY 2023-24 decreased by
5.64% and stood at Rs 616.71 crores as compared to the same period last year. While the Profit Before
Tax (PBT) for the quarter ended 31st March 2024 was Rs 78.20 crores, the net profit (PAT) for the
quarter was Rs 51.36 crores. The net income of the Company for the year is Rs 2404.17 crores
registering a growth of 0.88% on the levels achieved in 2022-23. The PBT for the year ended 31st
March 2024 increased by 31.87% to Rs 278.65 crores, the PAT increased by 32.25% and stood at Rs
203.47 crores. The Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of 85% for the FY 2023-24 as
against 75% dividend paid for the FY 2022-23.
In the month of June 2024, World Environment Day and the 10th edition of the International Day of
Yoga (IDY) was observed across units and establishments of the Company pan India. We will bring you
glimpses in the July 2024 issue of BLOOM.
Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led the
International Yoga Day celebrations from Srinagar on
21st June 2024. The theme this year was ‘Yoga for
Self and Society’. He urged people to make Yoga a
part their daily routine. Addressing a gathering,
Hon'ble PM said that the world sees yoga as a
powerful agent for global good as it helps people live
in the present without carrying the baggage of the
past. “When we are at peace within, we can also
make a positive impact on the world. Yoga is making
new ways of positive change in the society,” he
added. We are all aware of the immense health
benefits of yoga. So, adopt yoga in your daily routine

3. Mr. Abhijit Ghosh, Director [HR & CA] and Mr. A K Gupta, Head [RHR – NR] and COO [Travel] visited the
Industrial Packaging (IP) plant at Asaoti on 28th May 2024. During the visit, they interacted with the IP-
Asaoti Team and went around the plant. They also inaugurated an RO Water Filter / Cooler Machine
donated by the Company, as part of its CSR initiatives, to a State Govt. School at Dhouj, Faridabad on
the same day.
4. With the aim of fostering a positive environment for working parents at Balmer Lawrie, The Corporate
HR Department in collaboration with Mentoria, has been organising a series of informative and
engaging Counsellor-led Parenting workshops to address critical parenting challenges. After a
successful launch of the initiative in September 2023, four insightful parental workshops were
conducted till date, which equipped working parents at Balmer Lawrie with the information they needed
to build happier and healthier families. The workshops have covered a diverse range of topics relevant
to working parents from all backgrounds. The first session, in September 2023, tackled the growing
concern of technology addiction among children, teenagers and adolescents. In November 2023, the
second workshop focussed on fostering strong family bonds through ‘Connective Communication’. The
third session in January 2024 delved into the world of emotions, equipping parents with strategies to
help their children manage emotions like stress, depression, and anxiety through the power of empathy
and listening. The workshop in March 2024 focused on the right way to discipline children. The topic,
‘Critical Thinking Skills for the 21st Century’, for the latest workshop in May 2024 was selected based on
the feedback received from parents. The Parenting workshop series has been a resounding success,
receiving positive feedback from our employees who are parents.
As part of various initiatives promoting Hindi as Official Language in the organisation, a Hindi Library in
the Admin Building at Manali Complex, Chennai was inaugurated by Mr. Jayanta Chaudhuri, Head
[Chemicals] on 30th May 2024.

Gaurav Seal has total work experience of 3 years. After completing his PGDM, he
started his career in the ed-tech sector with BYJU’S. He was with the organisation for
8 months and in this short span of time, he learnt about perseverance and grit. This
was his introduction to the world of sales, post which he joined Dalmia Cement, where
most of his career has revolved around till now. In Dalmia, he learnt about teamwork,
persistence, determination, honesty and willpower. He would like to describe himself
as simple and hardworking and he inculcated these attributes from his idol, Lionel
Messi. Football is a sport which he admires a lot and for him, Messi is the greatest of
all time because of his tenacity and humbleness. Books have also been an integral
part, since childhood, especially the Bengali ones written by Satyajit Ray, the legend
of cinema, books and music. Music helps him to blow off some steam, be it the
Bengali charmers Anupam Roy or the Hindi melodies of Kishore Kumar or the

Ashwini Sukhadeo Lokhande is from Maharashtra with a strong academic and practical

Dusi Prudhvi Raj graduated from NIT Calicut with a BTech degree. Professionally,
he accumulated experience at Shiva Herbals, a herbal pharmaceutical company,
where he managed State and Central Government approvals and tenders,
marketing and finance across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Prior to this, he
contributed to two startups in the health and education sectors. His interests are
diverse; he thrives on learning and exploring new things, traveling, studying stock
market trends, and experimenting with different diet plans. Singing brings him joy
and creativity. As a certified stock investor and trader by the National Stock
Exchange Academy, he actively engages in financial markets. Photography is a
