• Used Ignition reportwriter to develop tonnage reportthat gathers data from press PLCs . This report is auto
generated and gets emailed to all top level executives of the company.
• Developed three dashboards using Delphi XE5 that report on both the production and financial state of the
company. This required analysis ofOEE calculations and data gathering from four differentdatabases.
• Set up the Ignition gateway backup to allow for recovery of Ignition developmentenvironmentin case of server
crash.
2. • Assisted in coding ofprograms with Ignition software from Inductive Automation. This required some scripting in
Python. This is a SCADA software package used for a manufacturing environmentthatuses tags to gather
information from PLCs.
• Assisted in Citrix server upgrade and responsible for addition ofall programs to Citrix server farm.
• Managed the upgrade of all custom programs to Oracle 10. This required analysis ofapproximately180 custom
programs and anycode changes required for upgrade. This included managing a contractprogrammer and
costs associated with his contract.
• Negotiated maintenance agreements for copiers, qualitydata analysis software and time clock hardware
resulting in costsavings.
• Managed the maintenance ofall copiers at two plantsites. This included reporting copycounts, managing
maintenance schedules when copiers wentdown and ultimatelythe purchase ofnew copiers at the end of the
contract. I planned the scheduling oftraining as well and negotiated the new contract.
• Project lead for managing and converting access databases to SQL server 2008 databases. This included
installing the server at the Virginia plantand modifying the access database code and tables. This projectwas
key to plant operations as the databases held data for all the production forging presses which run 24/7.
• Assisted payroll administrator in creating new Cognos Business Intelligence Reports. This saved the company
time and money by automating the gathering ofdata used in Excel spreadsheets.
• SharePointAdministrator which includes adding new sites/portals,managing the securityfor all employees and
creating libraries and folders. Ialso train employees on how to add, edit and delete documents.
• Responsible for maintaining over 80 custom programs as well as third party software.
• I created a projecttracking application using VB.net. This application tracks projects byallowing the user to
enter pertinentinformation aboutany given projecton a screen I designed. The information is written to a SQL
database and then is displayed on a data grid based upon the users selection criteria.
• Formatted new computers for new and existing employees. This included everything from installing the
operating system to adding the computer to the network through active directory.
• Project manager for installation ofnew time clock system for three plants. This included negotiating the price of
the software and hardware and determining how manylicenses were needed. I was responsible for installing the
SQL server database, creating and loading the database with employee information and performing all DBA
tasks, such as database back up scheduling. After installing the software,Ischeduled training classes and
provided training and supportto the managementteam.I also setall the parameters up for the hand scanners
which are being used to clock employees in. This replaces three differentin house custom time clock
applications and will standardize how time entry functions are done.
• I was tasked with determining whatlevel of Visual studio to purchase. This software would be used, going
forward, for any custom program development. Analysis was required to differentiate between the features of
each level. While taking into account what features were needed and the cost of each level, I determined Visual
Studio Professional was bestsuited for our organization.
• Project manager for move to hosted (cloud) Ultipro application. This projectinvolved moving all of our payroll
data off site to a hosted database. Iwas responsible for getting all of the data to the hosted database and
ensuring employees had the proper access to both Ultipro and the Business Intelligence reporting applications. I
also resolved any technical issues thatarose.
• Implemented over 300 employee logins and securityacross 3 sites to allow access ofpaycheck information.
This projectallows employees to view their paycheck information online from the Ultipro hosted website. This
will save the payroll administrator time and the companymoneyby eliminating the printing ofpaychecks for
salaried employees.
• I was puton a steering committee to ensure the successful implementation ofour new Datamyte quality
assurance application. This required the installation ofSQL Server 2008 and the creation of 4 databases
including production, training, testand securitydatabases. This application will standardize how quality
assurance is performed across all four of our plantsites.

• Upgraded the CommSys Application to run on a single server instead ofusing sixservers. This involved
modifying code, and creating and changing SQL tables to allow the application to process multiple databases. I
also assisted in the database design for this project. This project saved UPMC thousands ofdollars in server
costs and maintenance.
• Responsible for completing a projectto upgrade all CommSys servers to use Outlook 2007 and run under
Windows 2003.
• Developed a VB6 application thatenables the business units to reprintletters used for correspondence to
thousands ofUPMC’s members. This application allows the users to printone letter at a time or print a group of
letters meeting criteria specified bythe user. This application also enables the user to export this data to Excel
for reporting purposes.
• Developed a VB6 application thatautomated a manual process and transferred the responsibilityof this process
to the user group. The application uses a SQL stored procedure to update multiple databases. This resulted in
a time and money savings for both the user group and the EDI team. I received a “Super Star” award for this
project.
• Responsible for maintenance, developmentand installation ofthe UPMC CommSys Application. Additional
responsibilities included creation and maintenance oftables in the CommSys SQL database, installation ofthe
CommSys Application on multiple servers as well as analysis and trouble shooting ofdata in DB2 tables on the
MC400 Mainframe.
• As part of the EDI team I am responsible for maintaining and enhancing the McNet Batch Monitors. This
involved modifying existing code to enhance batch file monitors which process Enrollmentand CHIP (Children’s
Health Insurance Program) files.
• Modified EDI maps which are used to process both flat files and X12 files. This projectinvolved determining
what maps needed changed and how to code the map to read a SQL database instead ofan internal SQL table.
This eliminated the need to change the map and saves the EDI team programming and testing time by only
changing the database instead ofthe code.
• Developed a new screen for the DocViewer module. This module is partofthe CommSys application and
enables the users to choose the environmentin which to view member letters. This was especiallyhelpful for
users doing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) because the UAT environmentwas notaccessible while using the
DocViewer Interface.
• Developed an application which the business analysts use to re-postclaims in the McNet application. This
application enabled partial claim batches to be re-posted withoutmanuallydeleting all the claims thathad
already posted. This saved UPMC time and money by reducing the number ofresources used to perform a
manual process.
• Developed a letter template turnover application which allows a member letter template to be added or updated
using an interface instead of executing SQL statements manually. This projectautomated a tedious manual
process and saves both users and business analysts time byallowing them to click on a button to turn letter
templates over.

Division
• Develop Visual Basic programs, which create data extract files for Federated’s clients. The applications read
data from a SQL Server database using ADO, store data in an ADO record set, manipulate the data and finally
creates a data file that is then transmitted to the appropriate client.
• I was selected to be part of a team responsible for upgrading one ofFederated’s order entry systems. The
system is responsible for providing trade entry and reconciliation services, which are vital to the company. This
software upgrade was complicated and required modification ofboth Visual Basic components,as well as
Tandem mainframe programs. The upgrade was further complicated bythe need to change record layouts which
required a lot of additional coordination and testing. In addition to my coding efforts in both development
environments Iwas also responsible for testing the upgrade, and building and installing the production release.
The projectwas a success.
4. • Performance tuned a portion of Federated’s TrustConnectreports. I also upgraded the reports to contain a
corporate logo. The reports were written in Crystal Reports 8.5 and required the use of Microsoft’s Visual
Interdev software.
• I was selected to mentor a team member in the use of Crystal Reports 8.5, as well as how to move VB
components into the production environmentthatwas designed around MicrosoftTransaction Server
(MTS/COM+).
• I was selected to mentor a team member in the use of the Sys Admiral Tidal Scheduler. I was able to explain in
detail how the scheduler worked as well as how to properlyuse it.
• I was responsible for working very closelywith various business areas to bring new clients onto one of
Federated’s trade entry systems. This required numerous technical conference calls with clients and their
technical teams to determine their requirements. We designed and implemented an efficientautomated solution
that enabled the clients to communicate with Federated via FTP over the Internet. One of my primary
responsibilities was to gather and provide Federated’s communications teams with the necessaryfirewall
addresses and encryption keys necessaryto allow clients to send and receive their files.
• Wrote and maintained various sophisticated reportprograms thatwere part of a multi-tier,Internet application.
This involved writing/modifying ASP programs which call VB COM+ objects, which interactwith SQL Server
2000,to retrieve data. The data is then formatted and presented as a Crystal Report.
• As project manager ofa software upgrade projectI defined requirements, ensured deadlines were met,
scheduled and facilitated status meetings and kepttrack of all developmentphases ofthe project.
• I was selected to work on a high priority projectthat involved testing various software applications to ensure that
they properly enforced mutual fund trading cutoff times and complied with SEC regulations.
• Responsible for maintenance and developmenton manyof Federated’s time critical trade entry systems. This
included being on call for any and all nightly batch processes and solving both external and internal client
problems.
• Developed ASP applications for the Internet using HTML and VB scripts. The applications allow clients to view
their reports through a web site. I also developed a procedure for my team to follow which took them through the
steps necessaryto change and implementthe ASP programs in the Edgenetapplication.
• Developed a Visual Basic front-end application to replace a Tandem requestor program. The application is used
for cross-referencing fund cusip numbers.
• Responsible for support, developmentand maintenance ofa large number of Tandem mainframe programs.
