This document summarizes a presentation given by Nilrajsinh Vasandia on introduction to NC, CNC, and DNC machine tools. The presentation included definitions and components of NC, CNC, and DNC systems. It discussed the differences between NC, CNC, and DNC, covering topics like part program input/storage, program modification, the inclusion of feedback systems, and ability to import CAD files. Motion control systems and programming methods for NC and CNC machines were also outlined.
The document discusses various topics related to manufacturing processes including conventional and non-conventional machining processes, CNC machining, cutting speeds, feeds, tool offsets, programming codes and functions. It provides information on different machine tools, machining centers, transducers and controllers used in manufacturing. Cutting speed and feed rate tables are included for a variety of materials.
Unconventional machining processes remove material from a workpiece using energy-based techniques rather than direct contact cutting tools. They are used for hard and brittle materials that are difficult to machine with conventional tools. Unconventional processes are classified based on the type of energy used, such as mechanical, electrical, electrochemical, chemical, or thermo-electrical. Examples include electrical discharge machining, which uses electric sparks, and abrasive jet machining, which uses a high-velocity abrasive stream. These processes allow harder materials to be machined with higher accuracy and surface finish compared to conventional techniques.
This document discusses different types of hydraulic pressure control valves. It describes pressure relief valves, pilot operated relief valves, sequence control valves, and other types. Pressure relief valves limit pressure by diverting fluid to the reservoir when pressure reaches a set point. Pilot operated relief valves use a piston or spool controlled by a pilot valve. Sequence valves provide flow to a second actuator after the first reaches a threshold pressure. The document also provides examples of applications for different valve types.

This document discusses adaptive control systems for machining. It defines adaptive control as a feedback system that automatically adjusts machining variables like cutting speed and feed rate based on actual process conditions. The three main functions of adaptive control are identification, decision, and modification. Adaptive control systems are classified as adaptive control with optimization, which uses a performance index, or adaptive control with constraints, which maximizes variables within set limits. Benefits include increased production and tool life, while limitations include lack of reliable tool sensors and standardized interfaces with CNC units.
The document discusses different types of end effectors used in robotics, specifically focusing on grippers. It describes two main types of end effectors - grippers and tools. Grippers are used for holding parts and objects, and come in several varieties, including mechanical grippers, hooks/scoops, magnetic grippers, vacuum grippers, expandable bladder grippers, and adhesive grippers. Each type is suited to different applications and has unique advantages and limitations. The document provides details on the design and use of each gripper type.
The document presents information on a bootstrap air cooling system suitable for aircraft. It consists of two heat exchangers, a secondary compressor driven by a turbine, and uses ram air and compression to cool and circulate air. Ambient air is compressed by the main aircraft compressor then cooled in an air cooler before further compression and cooling. It is then expanded through a turbine to provide cooled air to the aircraft cabin. Advantages are that air is readily available, non-toxic, and pressures are low. A limitation is that it requires aircraft flight for ram air cooling and is not suitable for ground use without an additional fan.

Capstan and turret lathes are production lathes used to manufacture large quantities of identical parts quickly. Unlike engine lathes, they do not have tail stocks and can hold multiple tools that operate simultaneously. Capstan lathes have hexagonal turrets mounted on slides that move longitudinally, while turret lathes have stationary hexagonal turrets mounted directly on the saddle. Both types of lathes are suited for machining bars and irregular workpieces, with turret lathes able to accommodate heavier work. Common tooling includes box, flanged, and slide tool holders that mount to the turrets.

This document discusses the constructional features of CNC machines. It classifies CNC systems according to the type of machine into point-to-point, straight-cut, and continuous path systems. It also categorizes them based on programming method as absolute or incremental, and by control system type as open-loop or closed-loop. Point-to-point systems move in straight lines for operations like drilling. Continuous path systems enable contouring for milling complex profiles. Programming specifies tool movements, and feedback loops help verify final positions match programs. Common machine elements include motors, ball screws, and feedback devices.
The document discusses static and dynamic balancing of rotating masses. Static balancing ensures the center of gravity remains stationary during rotation by balancing out centrifugal forces in any radial direction. Dynamic balancing prevents vibration during rotation by statically balancing and also balancing out moments and couples involved in accelerating moving parts. The types of balancing are defined as static, where forces due to gravity are balanced, and dynamic, where inertia forces are balanced in addition to static balance. Benefits include reduced vibration, noise, stresses, and increased quality, bearing life, and efficiency. Balancing is necessary to prevent problems from vibration like noise, abrasion, and shortened machine life.
1) Chip formation involves the shear deformation of work material to form a chip as new material is exposed during cutting.
2) There are four basic types of chips in machining: continuous, discontinuous, serrated, and those with built-up edge (BUE).
3) The type of chip formed depends on factors like the work material, tool geometry, cutting speeds and feeds, and machining environment. Understanding chip formation helps optimize the machining process.
The document discusses CNC machining centers. It defines a CNC machine center as an advanced manufacturing machine tool that can perform various machining operations with accuracy and quality. CNC machine centers allow operations like drilling, milling, and lathing to be done on a single machine. They are used to manufacture parts that require multiple operations, reducing production time compared to separate machines. CNC machine centers can be horizontal, vertical, or universal depending on the configuration, and include mechanisms like automatic tool changers to further reduce production time.
WHEN DOES PRECISION ENGINEERING STARTS?
Precision engineering was first published in January 1979; since 1986 it has also been known to many of its readers as the Journal of the American Society of Precision Engineering. Now with effect from 2000, it assumes a new look, proudly proclaiming itself the Journal of the International Societies of Precision Engineering and nanotechnology.
The document discusses various interpolation methods used in CNC machining, including linear, circular, and parametric interpolation. It notes that while linear interpolation is simple, it results in faceted tool paths and reduced accuracy. Circular interpolation allows curved tool paths but is limited to 2 axes. Parametric interpolation, including NURBS, generates points directly on the desired curve, avoiding segmentation issues and allowing higher speeds and accuracy. NURBS interpolation in particular allows more efficient representation of complex geometries.

Paper Title
Particle Swarm Optimization–Long Short-Term Memory based Channel Estimation with Hybrid Beam Forming Power Transfer in WSN-IoT Applications
Authors
Reginald Jude Sixtus J and Tamilarasi Muthu, Puducherry Technological University, India
Abstract
Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) helps to overcome various difficulties in future technology wireless communications. NOMA, when utilized with millimeter wave multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, channel estimation becomes extremely difficult. For reaping the benefits of the NOMA and mm-Wave combination, effective channel estimation is required. In this paper, we propose an enhanced particle swarm optimization based long short-term memory estimator network (PSOLSTMEstNet), which is a neural network model that can be employed to forecast the bandwidth required in the mm-Wave MIMO network. The prime advantage of the LSTM is that it has the capability of dynamically adapting to the functioning pattern of fluctuating channel state. The LSTM stage with adaptive coding and modulation enhances the BER.PSO algorithm is employed to optimize input weights of LSTM network. The modified algorithm splits the power by channel condition of every single user. Participants will be first sorted into distinct groups depending upon respective channel conditions, using a hybrid beamforming approach. The network characteristics are fine-estimated using PSO-LSTMEstNet after a rough approximation of channels parameters derived from the received data.
