Interviews follow certain conventions including close-up or medium close-up shots of the interviewee to see facial expressions, positioning the interviewee off to one side of the screen following the rule of thirds, and having the interviewee look at the interviewer rather than directly at the camera. Relevant items may be included in the background visuals. Graphics are sometimes included with the interviewee's name and relevance. The camera remains static and at eye level to focus on the interviewee's words, and cutaways to related footage are sometimes included between responses.
