Microservice With Spring Boot and Spring CloudEberhard Wolff
Spring Boot and Spring Cloud are an ideal foundation for creating Microservices based on Java. This presentation explains basic concepts of these libraries.
Angular is an open-source front-end web development platform for building dynamic single-page applications. It was developed and is maintained by Google. Traditional web applications run from the server, requiring the client to request pages from the server on each user interaction. Single-page applications handle requests and rendering on the client-side using JavaScript, only requiring the server when data needs processing or business logic execution. Angular has evolved through several versions since its initial release in 2010. It is now a TypeScript-based framework that supports progressive web apps and mobile development. Major companies like Google, PayPal, and Microsoft use Angular for its component-based architecture, cross-platform capabilities, and productivity benefits.
NPM is a package manager for the JavaScript programming language. It is the default package manager for the JavaScript runtime environment Node.js. It consists of a command line client, also called npm, and an online database of public and paid-for private packages, called the npm registry.

This document provides an introduction and overview of Node.js and MongoDB. It discusses that Node.js is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine that uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model. It can be used for real-time applications and is well-suited for I/O-intensive applications. MongoDB is also introduced as a popular JSON-based NoSQL database that can be easily used with Node.js applications. Examples are given for connecting to MongoDB from Node.js code.
Dataweave is a language used to transform data between different formats like JSON, XML, Java objects, and more. The document demonstrates transforming JSON data to XML using Dataweave by writing a Dataweave script to map JSON fields to XML elements and attributes. It shows sample JSON input, the Dataweave code, and the XML output generated by the transformation.
The document discusses web application development and provides an overview of key concepts including:
- Client-side engineering focuses on browsers and front-end development while server-side engineering deals with backend servers.
- Web application architecture typically involves a client-server model with layers for the presentation, application processing, and data management tiers.
- Common web technologies discussed include PHP, frameworks like Zend and CakePHP, and caching with Zend_Cache to improve performance.
1. Docker allows creating lightweight virtual environments called containers that package code and dependencies together. Containers are more portable than virtual machines.
2. Docker uses images to build containers. Images are immutable templates and containers are instances of images that can be run. The Dockerfile defines how to build images.
3. Common Docker commands include docker pull to download images, docker run to create and start containers, docker exec to run commands in running containers, and docker commit to save container changes as new images.
If you’re working with just a few containers, managing them isn't too complicated. But what if you have hundreds or thousands? Think about having to handle multiple upgrades for each container, keeping track of container and node state, available resources, and more. That’s where Kubernetes comes in. Kubernetes is an open source container management platform that helps you run containers at scale. This talk will cover Kubernetes components and show how to run applications on it.
This document discusses the basics of CI/CD and the different pieces involved in a CI/CD setup such as wiring projects with build servers, setting up pipelines, and pipeline as code. It explains connecting the dots between a developer's machine, repository, CI server, end users, and connecting these pieces together in the final CI/CD pipeline picture.

Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.
