Network-on-Chip (NoC) is a packet switched onchip
communication network designed using a layered
methodology i.e. “routes packets, not wires”. It is an efficient
on chip communication architecture for System on Chip (SoC)
architectures. NoCs solved the disadvantages of SoCs and are
scalable. Each route in NoC includes some routers and it takes
a few clock periods by passing a router.
When the network is in congestion, the package transmission
will produce much more time delay. So adopting an appropriate
routing algorithm to get the balance between the time delay
and throughput rate becomes the key problem. In this paper
we tried to solve that problem using torus topology with our
modified XY routing algorithm.
We used NIRGAM simulator for analysis of latency and
throughput of modified XY routing algorithm for 2D torus
topology. 3x3 network size used for analyze the performance.
We consider all tiles as source, all tiles as destination and
vary the packet size & traffic used is Constant Bit Rate (CBR)
random traffic. It is found that packet size increases then
latency/packet increases and throughput (in Gbps) also
increases but latency/flit decreases.

INVESTIGATING MULTILAYER OMEGA-TYPE NETWORKS OPERATING WITH THE CUT-THROUGH T...IJCNCJournal
The continuous increase in the complexity of data networks has motivated the development of more effective Multistage Interconnection Networks (MINs) as important factors in providing higher data transfer rates in various switching divisions. In this paper, semi-layer omega-class networks operating with a cut-through forwarding technique are chosen as test-bed subjects for detailed evaluation, and this network architecture is modelled, inspected, and simulated. The results are examined for relevant singlelayer omega networks operating with cut-through or ‘store and forward’ forwarding techniques. Two series of experiments are carried out: one concerns the case of uniform traffic, while the other is related to hotspot traffic. The results quantify the way in which this network outperforms the corresponding singlelayer network architectures for the same network size and buffer size. Furthermore, the effects of the dimensions of the switch elements and their corresponding reliability on the overall interconnection system are investigated, and the complexity and the relevant cost are examined. The data yielded by this investigation can be valuable to MIN engineers and can allow them to achieve more productive networks with lower overall implementation costs.
Dynamic K-Means Algorithm for Optimized Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks IJCSES Journal
The document proposes a dynamic K-means clustering algorithm to improve routing in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). It aims to address limitations of the basic K-means algorithm like fixed cluster heads and members. The dynamic algorithm elects cluster heads periodically based on distance to cluster center and node energy. It allows any node to serve as cluster head for a time slot to address head mobility. Experimental results show the dynamic approach enhances MANET routing performance metrics like route discovery time, delay, and packet delivery rate compared to basic K-means routing.

Enhancenig OLSR routing protocol using K-means clustering in MANETs IJECEIAES
The design of robust routing protocol schemes for MANETs is quite complex, due to the characteristics and structural constraints of this network. A numerous variety of protocol schemes have been proposed in literature. Most of them are based on traditional method of routing, which doesn’t guarantee basic levels of Qos, when the network becomes larger, denser and dynamic. To solve this problem we use one of the most popular methods named clustering. In this work we try to improve the Qos in MANETs. We propose an algorithm of clustering based in the new mobility metric and K-Means method to distribute the nodes into several clusters; it is implemented to standard OLSR protocol giving birth a new protocol named OLSR Kmeans-SDE. The simulations showed that the results obtained by OLSR Kmeans-SDE exceed those obtained by standard OLSR Kmeans and OLSR Kmed+ in terms of, traffic Control, delay and packet delivery ratio.
Performance Analysis of Minimum Hop Source Routing Algorithm for Two Dimensio...IOSR Journals
Abstract: Network on Chip has emerged as new paradigm for the system designers to design an on chip interconnection network. However, NOC presents a large amount of array of design parameters and decision that are sometimes difficult to tackle. Apart from these issues NOC presents a framework of communication for complex SOC and has been widely accepted by the industries and academia’s. Today all the complex VLSI circuitry which requires an on chip communication between them are the part of NOC. The mature concepts of communication network such as routing algorithm, switching technique, flow and congestion control etc in the NOC are the important features on which the performance of NOC depends. This paper introduces the efficient source routing algorithm which generates the minimum hop from source to destination. Performance of NOC network in terms of latency and throughput for minimum hop source routing algorithm is also evaluated. Keywords: Network on chip, routing algorithm, topology, traffic.
PERFORMANCE COMPARISION OF DSDV, AODV AND DSRFOR MOBILE AD HOC NETWORK BY VAR...Saurabh Mishra
This document compares the performance of three routing protocols - DSDV, AODV, and DSR - for mobile ad hoc networks by simulating networks of varying sizes using the Qualnet simulator. The main findings are that AODV performed most efficiently for network sizes of 30, 40, and 50 nodes, and that performance decreased for all three protocols as the number of nodes increased. For a network of 50 nodes, the three protocols exhibited different performance levels at different node counts.
AN EFFECTIVE CONTROL OF HELLO PROCESS FOR ROUTING PROTOCOL IN MANETSIJCNCJournal
In the mobile ad hoc network (MANET) update of link connectivity is necessary to refresh the neighbor tables in data transfer. A existing hello process periodically exchanges the link connectivity information, which is not adequate for dynamic topology. Here, slow update of neighbour table entries causes link failures which affect performance parameter as packet drop, maximum delay, energy consumption, and reduced throughput. In the dynamic hello technique, new neighbour nodes and lost neighbour nodes are used to compute link change rate (LCR) and hello-interval/refresh rate (r). Exchange of link connectivity information at a fast rate consumes unnecessary bandwidth and energy. In MANET resource wastage can be controlled by avoiding the re-route discovery, frequent error notification, and local repair in the entire network. We are enhancing the existing hello process, which shows significant improvement in performance.
Performance improvement of vehicular delay tolerant networks using public tra...ijmnct
In some networks, communications are sometimes interrupted and packet sending encounters many delays
due to lack of permanent connection between the nodes. Inter-vehicular and inter-satellite networks, which
are the so-called delay-tolerant networks, are an example to this type. This paper proposed a new routing
algorithm, which could increase efficiency of this kind of networks using predictability feature of bus
movement in a vehicular network. In this paper, bus routes were considered the backbone for vehicular
network and, knowing route of bus and destination of packets, the proposed algorithm, which was able to
use this information, was introduced. In addition, the proposed algorithm was simulated to prove its
efficiency and then it was compared with other algorithms in different conditions. The obtained results
indicated acceptable efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
EFFECTS OF MAC PARAMETERS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF IEEE 802.11 DCF IN NS-3ijwmn
This paper presents the design procedure of the NS-3 script for WLAN that is organized according to the hierarchical manner of TCP/IP model. We configure all layers by using NS-3 model objects and set and modify the values used by objects to investigate the effects of MAC parameters (access mechanism, CWmin, CWmax and retry limit) on the performance metrics viz. packet delivery ratio, packet lost ratio, aggregated throughput, and average delay. The simulation results show that RTS/CTS access mechanism outperforms basic access mechanism in saturated state, whereas the MAC parameters have no significant impact on network performance in non-saturated state. A higher value of CWmin improves the aggregated throughput in expense of average delay. The tradeoff relationships among the performance metrics are also observed in results for the optimal values of MAC parameters. Our design procedure represents a good guideline for new NS-3 users to design and modify script and results greatly benefit the network design and management.
A New Efficient Cache Replacement Strategy for Named Data NetworkingIJCNCJournal
The Information-Centric Network (ICN) is a future internet architecture with efficient content retrieval and distribution. Named Data Networking (NDN) is one of the proposed architectures for ICN. NDN’s innetwork caching improves data availability, reduce retrieval delays, network load, alleviate producer load, and limit data traffic. Despite the existence of several caching decision algorithms, the fetching and distribution of contents with minimum resource utilization remains a great challenge. In this paper, we introduce a new cache replacement strategy called Enhanced Time and Frequency Cache Replacement strategy (ETFCR) where both cache hit frequency and cache retrieval time are used to select evicted data chunks. ETFCR adds time cycles between the last two requests to adjust data chunk’s popularity and cache hits. We conducted extensive simulations using the ccnSim simulator to evaluate the performance of ETFCR and compare it to that of some well-known cache replacement strategies. Simulations results show that ETFCR outperforms the other cache replacement strategies in terms of cache hit ratio, and lower content retrieval delay.
ADAPTIVE AODV ROUTING PROTOCOL FOR MOBILE ADHOC NETWORKSijasuc
This document proposes techniques to improve the efficiency of route request flooding in mobile ad hoc networks. It presents two new enhancements to the Ad-hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol: EAODV1, which selects neighboring nodes to forward route requests based on mobility and recent usage for moderate node speeds; and EAODV2, which alternates between flooding and selection based on mobility and usage for high speeds. It also introduces Adaptive AODV (AAODV), which automatically switches between EAODV1 and EAODV2 based on measured node mobility. Simulation results show these methods reduce overhead, improve packet delivery ratio, and reduce end-to-end delay compared to standard AODV

This document provides a summary and comparison of various routing protocols for vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). It discusses topology-based protocols like CGSR and DSDV, reactive protocols like DSR, and position-based protocols like GSR, A-STAR, GPCR, VADD, CAR, DIR, and B-MFR. The position-based protocols are considered the best for handling issues in VANETs like packet delay, traffic congestion, and throughput. The paper analyzes the characteristics and behaviors of different VANET routing protocols and concludes that position-based protocols are most suitable for the dynamic environment of vehicular networks.
Solving QoS multicast routing problem using ACO algorithmAbdullaziz Tagawy
The document discusses using an ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm to solve the quality of service (QoS) constrained multicast routing problem. The ACO algorithm is inspired by how real ants find the shortest path to food sources. In the algorithm, artificial ants probabilistically construct multicast trees and update pheromone values on the paths/edges to gradually converge on high quality solutions. The document provides details of the ACO algorithm and gives an example of applying it to find the shortest path between a source and destination node to demonstrate how it works.
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF OLSR PROTOCOL IN MANET CONSIDERING DIFFERENT MOBILITY...ijwmn
A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is created when an independent mobile node network is connected
dynamically via wireless links. MANET is a self-organizing network that does not rely on pre-existing
infrastructure such as wired or wireless network routers. Mobile nodes in this network move randomly,
thus, the topology is always changing. Routing protocols in MANET are critical in ensuring dependable
and consistent connectivity between the mobile nodes. They conclude logically based on the interaction
between mobile nodes in MANET routing and encourage them to choose the optimum path between source
and destination. Routing protocols are classified as proactive, reactive, or hybrid. The focus of this project
will be on Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol, a proactive routing technique. OLSR is known as
the optimized variant of link state routing in which packets are sent throughout the network using the
multipoint relay (MPR) mechanism. This article evaluates the performance of the OLSR routing protocol
under condition of changing mobility speed and network density. The study's performance indicators are
average packet throughput, packet delivery ratio (PDR), and average packet latency. Network Simulator 2
(NS-2) and an external patch UM-OLSR are used to simulate and evaluate the performance of such
protocol. As a result of research, the approach of implementing the MPR mechanism are able to minimise
redundant data transmission during the normal message broadcast. The MPRs enhance the link state
protocols’ traditional diffusion mechanism by selecting the right MPRs. Hence, the number of undesired
broadcasts can be reduced and limited. Further research will focus on different scenario and environment
using different mobility model

An Improved LEACH-C Algorithm for Energy Efficiency in WSN Routingijsrd.com
this paper considered a multi-objective LEACH-C algorithm in the selection of Cluster Head (CH) in such a way so that its energy is used uniformly with load balancing among clusters for delayed disintegration of network. LEACH-C algorithm based single objective clustering approach has been replaced by multi-objective clustering approach where we not only considered the residual energy of nodes but the size of cluster in creating a cluster structure. The improved LEACH-C protocol has been compared with random LEACH and Max Energy LEACH or existing LEACH-C algorithm for energy equi-distribution and load balancing among clusters. Wireless sensor network (WSN) is simulated using a MATLAB programming and power consumption algorithms take into consideration all aspects of power consumption in the operation of the node. The modified LEACH-C routing protocol shows improvements in lifetime as well as in network disintegration criterion
An Enhanced DSR Protocol for Improving QoS in MANETKhushbooGupta145
Ad hoc network is a network without centralized administration in which different users can communicate and exchange information. In such a structure, all the nodes participate in order to achieve the network and ensure the travel of the information. Hence, multihopping techniques are used to achieve this task. The communication reliability within an ad hoc network and how the different nodes act are managed by routing protocols. Nowadays, different types of protocols exist. Nevertheless, the source routing ones, based on information known at the source of the communication, seem to attract more studies. Source routing protocols had shown interesting results in realistic scenarios in areas such as military battlefields or airport stations.
This Paper deals with DSR Protocol and is focused on the multipath aspect of this routing protocol. Since, it is necessary to understand that multipath techniques enhance reliability and can ensure security. We have simulated a new multipath algorithm. The solution had been evaluated with the network Simulator 2. Since we want to know how our protocol reacts in different mobility cases, the random waypoint model which allows us to present relevant results, due to the fact this situation is taken into account.
Simulation results show that the multipath protocol behaves better than DSR, the main actual reactive protocol. The Proposed protocol MSR performs well in high mobility by using much less overhead than DSR. Additionally, it is interesting to see that DSR without any modifications manage poorly in high mobility situation.
The document proposes an enhanced version of the Destination Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV) routing protocol called Multicost Parameter Based DSDV (MPB-DSDV) that incorporates additional cost parameters like interference, residual energy, and transmission power to improve energy efficiency and network performance for wireless ad hoc networks. The MPB-DSDV protocol is simulated and evaluated based on performance metrics like end-to-end delay, packet delivery ratio, routing overhead, and throughput, and shown to outperform the standard DSDV protocol by taking energy constraints into consideration for path selection.

Analysis of data transmission in wireless lan for 802.11 e2 eteSAT Journals
Abstract The aim of this paper is to investigate the transmission of data between client and server through different IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN multi- HOP network. To improve this issue, the transmission opportunity (TXOP) mechanism is defined in the IEEE 802.11e standard, with which a wireless node can transmit multiple frames consecutively for a maximum channel occupancy time, called TXOP limit. This paper considers the performance of the TXOP mechanism for multi-hop wireless networks. Focusing on a three-node chain topology, we model it as a tandem queuing network with two nodes. The E2ET is derived and the analysis is validated by simulation. Numerical results show that the TXOP mechanism works well for multi-hop wireless networks. It is also shown that adjusting TXOP limit is significantly important in order to increase the overall throughput. In terms of multi-hop wireless networks, there is little analytical work with regard to the E2ET performance. One of the rationales for the analytical difficulty for multi-hop wireless networks is that IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol is too complex to model the behavior of multi-hop frame transmissions. GRAPH THEORETIC ROUTING ALGORITHM (GTRA) FOR MOBILE AD-HOC NETWORKS (MANET)graphhoc
Battlefield theater applications require supporting large number of nodes. It can facilitate many multi-hop
paths between each source and destination pairs. For scalability, it is critical that for supporting network
centric applications with large set of nodes require hierarchical approach to designing networks. In this
research we consider using Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) with multiple clusters. Each cluster
supports a few nodes with a cluster head. The intra-cluster connectivity amongst the nodes within the
cluster is supported by multi-hop connectivity to ensure handling mobility in such a way that no service
disruption can occur. The inter-cluster connectivity is also achieved by multi-hop connectivity. However,
for inter-cluster communications, only cluster heads are connected. The selection of intra-cluster
communications and inter-cluster communications allow scalability of the network to support multiservices
applications end-to-end with a desired Quality of Service (QoS). This paper proposes graph
theoretic approach to establish efficient connection between a source and a destination within each cluster
in intra-cluster network and between clusters in inter-cluster network. Graph theoretic approach
traditionally was applied networks where nodes are static or fixed. In this paper, we have applied the
graph theoretic routing to MANET where nodes are mobile. One of the important challenges in MANET is
to support an efficient routing algorithm for multi-hop communications across many nodes which are
dynamic in nature. However, dynamic behavior of the nodes requires greater understanding of the node
degree and mobility at each instance of time in order to maintain end-to-end QoS for multi-service
provisioning. This paper demonstrates graph theoretic approach produces an optimum multi-hop
connectivity path based on cumulative minimum degree that minimizes the contention and scheduling
delay end-to-end. It is applied to both intra-cluster communications as well as inter-cluster
communications. The performance shows that having a multi-hop connectivity for intra-cluster
communications is more power efficient compared to broadcast of information with maximum power
coverage. Each cluster performs similarly and the algorithm is also used for inter-cluster communications.
Our simulation results show that the proposed graph theoretic routing approach will reduce the overall
delay and improves the physical layer data frame transmission.
Performance Analysis of Mesh-based NoC’s on Routing Algorithms IJECEIAES
The advent of System-on-Chip (SoCs), has brought about a need to increase the scale of multi-core chip networks. Bus Based communications have proved to be limited in terms of performance and ease of scalability, the solution to both bus – based and Point-to-Point (P2P) communication systems is to use a communication infrastructure called Network-on-Chip (NoC). Performance of NoC depends on various factors such as network topology, routing strategy and switching technique and traffic patterns. In this paper, we have taken the initiative to compile together a comparative analysis of different Network on Chip infrastructures based on the classification of routing algorithm, switching technique, and traffic patterns. The goal is to show how varied combinations of the three factors perform differently based on the size of the mesh network, using NOXIM, an open source SystemC Simulator of mesh-based NoC. The analysis has shown tenable evidence highlighting the novelty of XY routing algorithm.
Improved routing scheme with ACO in WSN in comparison to DSDVijsrd.com
Routing is the process of selecting best paths in a network in terms of energy and distance. In adhoc it is critical to collect the information in an efficient manner as it has limitations in terms of centralized congestion. In such case to perform the effective communication there is the requirement of some such routing approach that can provide the routing with optimized path. In this work, ACO based routing approach is defined to generate the optimized path in comparison to DSDV over the network. The presented approach is implemented in matlab environment and obtained results shows the effective results in terms of optimized path.

Comparative and Behavioral Study on VANET Routing ProtocolsIOSR Journals
Further research will focus on different scenario and environment
using different mobility model

APPLICATION OF GENETIC ALGORITHM IN DESIGNING A SECURITY MODEL FOR MOBILE ADH...cscpconf
In recent years, the static shortest path (SP) problem has been well addressed using intelligent
optimization techniques, e.g., artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms (GAs), particle
swarm optimization, etc. However, with the advancement in wireless communications, more and
more mobile wireless networks appear, e.g., mobile networks [mobile ad hoc networks
(MANETs)], wireless sensor networks, etc. One of the most important characteristics in mobile
wireless networks is the topology dynamics, i.e., the network topology changes over time due to
energy conservation or node mobility. Therefore, the SP routing problem in MANETs turns out to
be a dynamic optimization problem. GA's are able to find, if not the shortest, at least an optimal
path between source and destination in mobile ad-hoc network nodes. And we obtain the alternative path or backup path to avoid reroute discovery in the case of link failure or nodeex

In multi-radio wireless mesh networks, one node is eligible to transmit packets over multiple channels to
different destination nodes simultaneously. This feature of multi-radio wireless mesh network makes high

interference and maintaining the constant network performance or increasing the performance the WMN
need to consider the packet aggregation and packet forwarding. Packet aggregation is process of collecting
several packets ready for transmission and sending them to the intended recipient through the channel,
while the packet forwarding holds the hop-by-hop routing. But choosing the correct path among different
available multiple paths is most the important factor in the both case for a routing algorithm. Hence the
most challenging factor is to determine a forwarding strategy which will provide the schedule for each

Nearest Adjacent Node Discovery Scheme for Routing Protocol in Wireless Senso...IOSR Journals
The broad significance of Wireless Sensor Networks is in most emergency and disaster rescue
domain. The routing process is the main challenges in the wireless sensor network due to lack of physical links.
The objective of routing is to find optimum path which is used to transferring packets from source node to
destination node. Routing should generate feasible routes between nodes and send traffic along the selected path
and also achieve high performance. This paper presents a nearest adjacent node scheme based on shortest path

A Professional QoS Provisioning in the Intra Cluster Packet Level Resource Al...GiselleginaGloria
Wireless mesh networking has transpired as a gifted technology for potential broadband wireless access. In a communication network, wireless mesh network plays a vital role in transmission and are structured in a mesh topology. The coordination of mesh routers and mesh clients forms the wireless mesh networks which are routed through the gateways. Wireless mesh networks uses IEEE 802.11 standards and has its wide applications broadband home networking and enterprise networking deployment such as Microsoft wireless mesh and MIT etc. A professional Qos provisioning in intra cluster packet level resource allocation for WMN approach takes power allocation, sub carrier allocation and packet scheduling. This approach combines the merits of a Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) algorithm and a genetic algorithm (GA) based approach. The KKT algorithm uses uniform power allocation over all the subcarriers, based on the optimal allocation criterion. The genetic algorithm is used to generate useful solutions to optimization and search problems and it is also used for search problems. By combining the intrinsic worth of both the approaches, it facilitates effective QOS provisioning at the packet level. It is concluded that, this approach achieves a preferred stability between system implementation and computational convolution.
The document proposes a Crosslayered and Power Conserved Routing Topology (CPCRT) for congestion control in mobile ad hoc networks. CPCRT aims to distinguish between packet loss due to link failure versus other causes like congestion. It takes a cross-layer approach using information from the physical, MAC, and application layers. The proposed method also aims to conserve power during packet transmission by adjusting transmission power levels based on received signal strength. Simulation results show that CPCRT can better utilize resources and conserve power during congestion control compared to other approaches.
Improving Capacity and Load Distribution of a Node Using Circular Sailing Rou...ijafrc
Routing in wireless networks has been heavily studied in the last decade. In mobile ad-hoc network (MANETs) can route travelled by a packet from the source to the destination usually consists of multiple hops where intermediate nodes act as relays. The packets usually follow the shortest path between source and destination in routing protocols to achieve smallest travelled distance. However, this leads to the uneven distribution of traffic load in a network. The wireless nodes in the center of the network will have heavier traffic. Since most of the shortest routes go through them. There are many algorithms available in the load balancing and improving capacity technique. In this paper, describe a novel routing algorithm called Circular Sailing Routing (CSR), which we can distribute the traffic more evenly in the network. Based on our study, found to reduced traffic distribution and capacity of a node in the wireless network compared to any other algorithm. This is because they proposed maps in the network onto a sphere via a simple stereographic projection and then the route decision is made by the distance on the sphere instead of Euclidean distance in the plane.

The document describes a proposed Crosslayered and Power Conserved Routing Topology (CPCRT) for congestion control in mobile ad hoc networks. The CPCRT aims to improve transmission performance by distinguishing between packet loss due to link failure versus other causes, while also conserving power used for packet transmission. It builds upon an earlier Crosslayered Routing Topology (CRT) approach by incorporating power conservation. The CPCRT is intended to identify the root cause of packet loss, avoid unnecessary congestion handling from link failures, allow congestion handling at specific high-traffic nodes rather than all nodes, and optimize resource and power usage for packet routing in mobile ad hoc networks.
This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a new Position Based Opportunistic Routing Protocol (POR) to improve reliable data delivery in mobile ad hoc networks. Existing geographic routing protocols have issues with route failures and delays in discovering new routes when nodes move. The proposed POR protocol selects multiple forwarding candidate nodes to opportunistically forward packets. If the primary forwarder fails, backup candidates can forward packets to avoid transmission interruptions. Simulation results show the POR protocol has lower delay and higher packet delivery ratio compared to existing protocols.

Simulation of Route Optimization with load balancing Using AntNet SystemIOSR Journals
This document summarizes a research paper that simulates route optimization and load balancing in computer networks using the AntNet routing algorithm. The AntNet algorithm is based on the behavior of ants and uses forward and backward ants to collect information and update routing tables. The simulation tested the AntNet algorithm against a generic algorithm without AntNet. The results showed that AntNet performed better in terms of throughput, average packet delivery, distance, delay, and failed packets. Specifically, when the simulation speed was 1000 and total packets were 100, AntNet delivered all packets with less delay and distance compared to the generic algorithm which failed 2 packets. This demonstrates that the AntNet algorithm can effectively optimize routes and balance network load.
Multipath Routing Protocol by Breadth First Search Algorithm in Wireless Mesh...IOSR Journals
This document proposes a multipath routing protocol for wireless mesh networks that uses a parallel layer-based approach and breadth-first search algorithm to discover multiple paths between a source and destination. It organizes nodes into layers based on distance from the destination and performs iterative breadth-first searches to find partial paths connecting nodes in lower layers, storing the partial paths. This process repeats until reaching the destination to find all possible paths. The primary path is then elected using an Expected Forwarding Counter metric to select the most reliable path. The protocol was evaluated in NS-2 and showed improved throughput, delivery ratio, and reduced delay compared to other protocols.
Iaetsd a survey on geographic routing relay selection inIaetsd Iaetsd
The document summarizes research on geographic routing and relay selection in wireless sensor networks. It discusses how geographic routing uses location information to route packets towards a destination but faces challenges around connectivity holes and optimal relay selection. The document reviews several existing approaches and their limitations. It then describes an alternative method called ALBA-R that was proposed to more efficiently route around holes while enhancing relay selection to maximize node lifetime. Simulation results showed ALBA-R outperformed other methods with respect to metrics like overhead and end-to-end delay.
SURVEY AND TAXONOMY OF UNICAST ROUTING PROTOCOLS FOR MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKSgraphhoc
The purpose of this paper is to survey the unicast routing protocols for mobile ad hoc networks
(MANETs) and study their primary route selection principle. In this context, we did an exhaustive survey
of unicast MANET routing protocols proposed in the literature. Qualitatively, based on their primary
route selection principle, we show that all these protocols could be placed under one of two broad route
selection categories: routing based on minimum-weight path and routing based on stability. In addition
to the primary route selection principle, we also identify the underlying routing metric and the routing
philosophy (proactive, reactive, flat, hierarchical, location-awareness, power-sensitiveness and multipath
capability) adopted by the different routing protocols. We believe the survey can be a great source of
information for researchers in ad hoc networks.
This document discusses different encoding mechanisms that can be used to perform secure communication in sensor networks in an energy-efficient manner. It first discusses routing approaches in sensor networks such as unicast routing, multicast routing, global routing and maze routing. It then examines various error detection techniques like repetition schemes, parity schemes and error-correcting codes. The document goes on to explain different encoding techniques - convolution codes, Hamming codes, Reed Solomon encoding. Convolution codes use shift registers and modulo-2 addition to encode input bits into output bits. Hamming codes are block codes that use a generator matrix to encode data bits into codewords. Reed Solomon encoding is a block encoding scheme that forms codewords by adding parity bits to the data using

Throughput Maximization using Spatial Reusability in Multi Hop Wireless Networkijtsrd
Energy is a valuable resource in wireless networks. For many multi hop networking scenarios, nodes require power for performing their operation, so requiring capable power management to make certain connectivity across the network. Though when wireless networks are attached outside power source due to obstruction between lively links the network may demand excessive energy per unit time Power due to this the overall performance is reduced. Since network life time or network capacity is depend on the power efficiency, many efforts to study energy efficient networks in the wireless network community. In multi hop wireless networks well organized routing algorithms are significant for network performance. We dispute that by carefully considering spatial reusability of the wireless communication media, we can reduce the overhead in multi hop wireless networks. To support our argument, propose Broadcast Tree Construction BTC and compare them with existing routing and multi path routing protocols, respectively. Our estimate outcome shows that proposed protocols significantly improve the end to end throughput compared with existing protocols. We also introduce the sleep scheduling approach for energy consumption and hybrid cryptography for security of data that can be prevent the data leakage and jammer attacks. Twinkal P. Power System State Estimation - A ReviewIDES Editor
This document provides a review of power system state estimation techniques. It discusses both static and dynamic state estimation algorithms. For static state estimation, it covers weighted least squares, decoupled, and robust estimation methods. Weighted least squares is commonly used but can have numerical instability issues. Decoupled state estimation approximates the gain matrix for faster computation. Robust estimation uses M-estimators and other techniques to handle outliers and bad data. Dynamic state estimation applies Kalman filtering, leapfrog algorithms, and other methods to continuously monitor system states over time.
Artificial Intelligence Technique based Reactive Power Planning Incorporating...IDES Editor
This document summarizes a research paper that proposes using artificial intelligence techniques and FACTS controllers for reactive power planning in real-time power transmission systems. The paper formulates the reactive power planning problem and incorporates flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) devices like static VAR compensators (SVC), thyristor controlled series capacitors (TCSC), and unified power flow controllers (UPFC). Evolutionary algorithms like evolutionary programming (EP) and differential evolution (DE) are applied to find the optimal locations and settings of the FACTS controllers to minimize losses and costs. Simulation results on IEEE 30-bus and 72-bus Indian test systems show that UPFC performs best in reducing losses compared to SVC and TCSC.
Design and Performance Analysis of Genetic based PID-PSS with SVC in a Multi-...IDES Editor
Damping of power system oscillations with the help
of proposed optimal Proportional Integral Derivative Power
System Stabilizer (PID-PSS) and Static Var Compensator
(SVC)-based controllers are thoroughly investigated in this
paper. This study presents robust tuning of PID-PSS and
SVC-based controllers using Genetic Algorithms (GA) in
multi machine power systems by considering detailed model
of the generators (model 1.1). The effectiveness of FACTSbased
controllers in general and SVC-based controller in
particular depends upon their proper location. Modal
controllability and observability are used to locate SVC–based
controller. The performance of the proposed controllers is
compared with conventional lead-lag power system stabilizer
(CPSS) and demonstrated on 10 machines, 39 bus New England
test system. Simulation studies show that the proposed genetic
based PID-PSS with SVC based controller provides better
performance.
Optimal Placement of DG for Loss Reduction and Voltage Sag Mitigation in Radi...IDES Editor
This paper presents the need to operate the power
system economically and with optimum levels of voltages has
further led to an increase in interest in Distributed
Generation. In order to reduce the power losses and to improve
the voltage in the distribution system, distributed generators
(DGs) are connected to load bus. To reduce the total power
losses in the system, the most important process is to identify
the proper location for fixing and sizing of DGs. It presents a
new methodology using a new population based meta heuristic
approach namely Artificial Bee Colony algorithm(ABC) for
the placement of Distributed Generators(DG) in the radial
distribution systems to reduce the real power losses and to
improve the voltage profile, voltage sag mitigation. The power
loss reduction is important factor for utility companies because
it is directly proportional to the company benefits in a
competitive electricity market, while reaching the better power
quality standards is too important as it has vital effect on
customer orientation. In this paper an ABC algorithm is
developed to gain these goals all together. In order to evaluate
sag mitigation capability of the proposed algorithm, voltage
in voltage sensitive buses is investigated. An existing 20KV
network has been chosen as test network and results are
compared with the proposed method in the radial distribution
system.
Line Losses in the 14-Bus Power System Network using UPFCIDES Editor
Controlling power flow in modern power systems
can be made more flexible by the use of recent developments
in power electronic and computing control technology. The
Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is a Flexible AC
transmission system (FACTS) device that can control all the
three system variables namely line reactance, magnitude and
phase angle difference of voltage across the line. The UPFC
provides a promising means to control power flow in modern
power systems. Essentially the performance depends on proper
control setting achievable through a power flow analysis
program. This paper presents a reliable method to meet the
requirements by developing a Newton-Raphson based load
flow calculation through which control settings of UPFC can
be determined for the pre-specified power flow between the
lines. The proposed method keeps Newton-Raphson Load Flow
(NRLF) algorithm intact and needs (little modification in the
Jacobian matrix). A MATLAB program has been developed to
calculate the control settings of UPFC and the power flow
between the lines after the load flow is converged. Case studies
have been performed on IEEE 5-bus system and 14-bus system
to show that the proposed method is effective. These studies
indicate that the method maintains the basic NRLF properties
such as fast computational speed, high degree of accuracy and
good convergence rate.
Study of Structural Behaviour of Gravity Dam with Various Features of Gallery...IDES Editor
The size and shape of opening in dam causes the
stress concentration, it also causes the stress variation in the
rest of the dam cross section. The gravity method of the analysis
does not consider the size of opening and the elastic property
of dam material. Thus the objective of study is comprises of
the Finite Element Method which considers the size of
opening, elastic property of material, and stress distribution
because of geometric discontinuity in cross section of dam.
Stress concentration inside the dam increases with the opening
in dam which results in the failure of dam. Hence it is
necessary to analyses large opening inside the dam. By making
the percentage area of opening constant and varying size and
shape of opening the analysis is carried out. For this purpose
a section of Koyna Dam is considered. Dam is defined as a
plane strain element in FEM, based on geometry and loading
condition. Thus this available information specified our path
of approach to carry out 2D plane strain analysis. The results
obtained are then compared mutually to get most efficient
way of providing large opening in the gravity dam.
Assessing Uncertainty of Pushover Analysis to Geometric ModelingIDES Editor
Pushover Analysis a popular tool for seismic
performance evaluation of existing and new structures and is
nonlinear Static procedure where in monotonically increasing
loads are applied to the structure till the structure is unable
to resist the further load .During the analysis, whatever the
strength of concrete and steel is adopted for analysis of
structure may not be the same when real structure is
constructed and the pushover analysis results are very sensitive
to material model adopted, geometric model adopted, location
of plastic hinges and in general to procedure followed by the
analyzer. In this paper attempt has been made to assess
uncertainty in pushover analysis results by considering user
defined hinges and frame modeled as bare frame and frame
with slab modeled as rigid diaphragm and results compared
with experimental observations. Uncertain parameters
considered includes the strength of concrete, strength of steel
and cover to the reinforcement which are randomly generated
and incorporated into the analysis. The results are then
compared with experimental observations.

Selfish Node Isolation & Incentivation using Progressive ThresholdsIDES Editor
The problems associated with selfish nodes in
MANET are addressed by a collaborative watchdog approach
which reduces the detection time for selfish nodes thereby
improves the performance and accuracy of watchdogs[1]. In
the related works they make use of credit based systems, reputation
based mechanisms, pathrater and watchdog mechanism
to detect such selfish nodes. In this paper we follow an approach
of collaborative watchdog which reduces the detection
time for selfish nodes and also involves the removal of such
selfish nodes based on some progressively assessed thresholds.
The threshold gives the nodes a chance to stop misbehaving
before it is permanently deleted from the network.
The node passes through several isolation processes before it
is permanently removed. Another version of AODV protocol
is used here which allows the simulation of selfish nodes in
NS2 by adding or modifying log files in the protocol.
Various OSI Layer Attacks and Countermeasure to Enhance the Performance of WS...IDES Editor
Wireless sensor networks are networks having non
wired infrastructure and dynamic topology. In OSI model each
layer is prone to various attacks, which halts the performance
of a network .In this paper several attacks on four layers of
OSI model are discussed and security mechanism is described
to prevent attack in network layer i.e wormhole attack. In
Wormhole attack two or more malicious nodes makes a covert
channel which attracts the traffic towards itself by depicting a
low latency link and then start dropping and replaying packets
in the multi-path route. This paper proposes promiscuous mode
method to detect and isolate the malicious node during
wormhole attack by using Ad-hoc on demand distance vector
routing protocol (AODV) with omnidirectional antenna. The
methodology implemented notifies that the nodes which are
not participating in multi-path routing generates an alarm
message during delay and then detects and isolate the
malicious node from network. We also notice that not only
the same kind of attacks but also the same kind of
countermeasures can appear in multiple layer. For example,
misbehavior detection techniques can be applied to almost all
the layers we discussed.
Responsive Parameter based an AntiWorm Approach to Prevent Wormhole Attack in...IDES Editor
The recent advancements in the wireless technology
and their wide-spread deployment have made remarkable
enhancements in efficiency in the corporate and industrial
and Military sectors The increasing popularity and usage of
wireless technology is creating a need for more secure wireless
Ad hoc networks. This paper aims researched and developed
a new protocol that prevents wormhole attacks on a ad hoc
network. A few existing protocols detect wormhole attacks but
they require highly specialized equipment not found on most
wireless devices. This paper aims to develop a defense against
wormhole attacks as an Anti-worm protocol which is based on
responsive parameters, that does not require as a significant
amount of specialized equipment, trick clock synchronization,
no GPS dependencies.
Cloud Security and Data Integrity with Client Accountability FrameworkIDES Editor
This document summarizes a proposed cloud security and data integrity framework that provides client accountability. The framework aims to address issues like lack of user control over cloud data, need for data transparency and tracking, and ensuring data integrity. It proposes using JAR (Java Archive) files for data sharing due to benefits like portability. The framework incorporates client-side verification using MD5 hashing, digital signature-based authentication of JAR files, and use of HMAC to ensure data integrity. It also uses password-based encryption of log files to keep them tamper-proof. The framework is intended to provide both accountability and security for data sharing in cloud environments.
Genetic Algorithm based Layered Detection and Defense of HTTP BotnetIDES Editor
A System state in HTTP botnet uses HTTP protocol
for the creation of chain of Botnets thereby compromising
other systems. By using HTTP protocol and port number 80,
attacks can not only be hidden but also pass through the
firewall without being detected. The DPR based detection
leads to better analysis of botnet attacks [3]. However, it
provides only probabilistic detection of the attacker and also
time consuming and error prone. This paper proposes a Genetic
algorithm based layered approach for detecting as well as
preventing botnet attacks. The paper reviews p2p firewall
implementation which forms the basis of filtering.
Performance evaluation is done based on precision, F-value
and probability. Layered approach reduces the computation
and overall time requirement [7]. Genetic algorithm promises
a low false positive rate.
Enhancing Data Storage Security in Cloud Computing Through SteganographyIDES Editor
This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a method for enhancing data security in cloud computing through steganography. The method hides user data in digital images stored on cloud servers. When data needs to be accessed, it is extracted from the images. The document outlines the cloud architecture and security issues addressed. It then describes the proposed system architecture, security model, and data storage and retrieval process. Data is partitioned and hidden in multiple images to improve security. The goal is to prevent unauthorized access to user data stored on cloud servers.
The main tasks of a Wireless Sensor Network
(WSN) are data collection from its nodes and communication
of this data to the base station (BS). The protocols used for
communication among the WSN nodes and between the WSN
and the BS, must consider the resource constraints of nodes,
battery energy, computational capabilities and memory. The
WSN applications involve unattended operation of the network
over an extended period of time. In order to extend the lifetime
of a WSN, efficient routing protocols need to be adopted. The
proposed low power routing protocol based on tree-based
network structure reliably forwards the measured data towards
the BS using TDMA. An energy consumption analysis of the
WSN making use of this protocol is also carried out. It is
found that the network is energy efficient with an average
duty cycle of 0:7% for the WSN nodes. The OmNET++
simulation platform along with MiXiM framework is made
use of.
Permutation of Pixels within the Shares of Visual Cryptography using KBRP for...IDES Editor
The security of authentication of internet based
co-banking services should not be susceptible to high risks.
The passwords are highly vulnerable to virus attacks due to
the lack of high end embedding of security methods. In order
for the passwords to be more secure, people are generally
compelled to select jumbled up character based passwords
which are not only less memorable but are also equally prone
to insecurity. Multiple use of distributed shares has been
studied to solve the problem of authentication by algorithms
based on thresholding of pixels in image processing and visual
cryptography concepts where the subset of shares is considered
for the recovery of the original image for authentication using
correlation function[1][2].The main disadvantage in the above
study is the plain storage of shares and also one of the shares
is being supplied to the customer, which will lead to the
possibility of misuse by a third party. This paper proposes a
technique for scrambling of pixels by key based random
permutation (KBRP) within the shares before the
authentication has been attempted. Total number of shares to
be created is dependent on the multiplicity of ownership of
the account. By this method the problem of uncertainty among
the customers with regard to security, storage, retrieval of
holding of half of the shares is minimized.
This paper presents a trifocal Rotman Lens Design
approach. The effects of focal ratio and element spacing on
the performance of Rotman Lens are described. A three beam
prototype feeding 4 element antenna array working in L-band
has been simulated using RLD v1.7 software. Simulated
results show that the simulated lens has a return loss of –
12.4dB at 1.8GHz. Beam to array port phase error variation
with change in the focal ratio and element spacing has also
been investigated.
Band Clustering for the Lossless Compression of AVIRIS Hyperspectral ImagesIDES Editor
Hyperspectral images can be efficiently compressed
through a linear predictive model, as for example the one
used in the SLSQ algorithm. In this paper we exploit this
predictive model on the AVIRIS images by individuating,
through an off-line approach, a common subset of bands, which
are not spectrally related with any other bands. These bands
are not useful as prediction reference for the SLSQ 3-D
predictive model and we need to encode them via other
prediction strategies which consider only spatial correlation.
We have obtained this subset by clustering the AVIRIS bands
via the clustering by compression approach. The main result
of this paper is the list of the bands, not related with the
others, for AVIRIS images. The clustering trees obtained for
AVIRIS and the relationship among bands they depict is also
an interesting starting point for future research.
Microelectronic Circuit Analogous to Hydrogen Bonding Network in Active Site ...IDES Editor
A microelectronic circuit of block-elements
functionally analogous to two hydrogen bonding networks is
investigated. The hydrogen bonding networks are extracted
from â-lactamase protein and are formed in its active site.
Each hydrogen bond of the network is described in equivalent
electrical circuit by three or four-terminal block-element.
Each block-element is coded in Matlab. Static and dynamic
analyses are performed. The resultant microelectronic circuit
analogous to the hydrogen bonding network operates as
current mirror, sine pulse source, triangular pulse source as
well as signal modulator.
Texture Unit based Monocular Real-world Scene Classification using SOM and KN...IDES Editor
In this paper a method is proposed to discriminate
real world scenes in to natural and manmade scenes of similar
depth. Global-roughness of a scene image varies as a function
of image-depth. Increase in image depth leads to increase in
roughness in manmade scenes; on the contrary natural scenes
exhibit smooth behavior at higher image depth. This particular
arrangement of pixels in scene structure can be well explained
by local texture information in a pixel and its neighborhood.
Our proposed method analyses local texture information of a
scene image using texture unit matrix. For final classification
we have used both supervised and unsupervised learning using
K-Nearest Neighbor classifier (KNN) and Self Organizing
Map (SOM) respectively. This technique is useful for online
classification due to very less computational complexity.
