Laundry management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Laundry firms currently use a manual system for the management and maintenance of critical information. The current system requires numerous paper forms, with data stores spread throughout the laundry management infrastructure. Often information is incomplete or does not follow management standards. Records are often lost in transit during computation requiring a comprehensive auditing process to ensure that no vital information is lost. Multiple copies of the same information exist in the laundry firm data and may lead to inconsistencies in data in various data stores.
A significant part of the operation of any laundry firm involves the acquisition, management and timely retrieval of great volumes of information. This information typically involves; customer personal information and clothing records history, user information, price of delivery and received date, users scheduling as regards customers details and dealings in service rendered, also our products package waiting list. All of this information must be managed in an efficient and cost wise fashion so that the organization resources may be effectively utilized.
We present the design and implementation of a laundry database management system (LBMS) used in a laundry establishment. Laundry firms are usually faced with difficulties in keeping detailed records of customers clothing; this little problem as seen to most laundry firms is highly discouraging as customers are filled with disappointments, arising from issues such as customer clothes mix-ups and untimely retrieval of clothes. The aim of this application is to determine the number of clothes collected, in relation to their owners, as this also helps the users fix a date for the collection of their clothes. Also customer’s information is secured, as a specific id is allocated per registration to avoid contrasting information.

Introduction To System:
This System has been developed to manage the Wedding Hall Management
System like room booking, staff management, receipt generation, marriage
ceremony, maintaining records of visited customers and their detailed
information., maintaining room details. As maintaining all these information
in a manual manner is quite hard and a tedious job to do which waste lots of
time and becomes tough to manage.
For administrative purpose we have provided a login screen so, as to provide
a secure environment.
The data created in the above mentioned operations is stored in the database
“project”, which is created by ACCESS and all forms are designed with the
help of Visual Basic.
8. 8
Scope Of System:
The Wedding Hall Management system is totally menu driven and uses
clearly formatted screen displays to enter and process data generates
reports
All the rules and requirements of the Wedding Hall taken into
consideration while developing this system. The scope of the system
as follows:
Provide useful coding structure as per category with proper Recognition.
Maintaining various master tables like Manager, Customers, worker etc.
Providing different types of reports:
Customers Enquiry report
Worker report
Manager report
Customers Bill report
When the system starts it gives current status of data.
9. 9
Proposed System
For retrieving the detailed information about the customer visiting
wedding hole for booking purpose or for keeping track of those
customers, the manager has to search a long register which is very
complicated and tedious job to do.
For checking whether the room is available or not for a specified date or
those many days, the manager has to undergo a long search regarding the
date of booking of dates and departure dates, which need a long time and
doing all these calculations manually is very tough task.
For updating the staff details in case of assigning any new staff member its
details of existing staff members, needs a long verification and manipulating
all the corresponding data which very lengthy procedure as per the doing it
manually.
10. 10
System Analysis
Fact Finding Techniques
Various fact finding techniques were used to collect detail.
Information about each every aspect of the wedding hall management
system. In order to gather.
And analysis the relevant information the following fact finding techniques
were adopted.
On site Observation:
The first hand information about various activities that are carried
out can be studied through observation of general procedures
regarding maintaining the data about Hall information.
The information about Hall Mament is stores in database.
As analyst this technique showed us many missed Facts.
We also found some new ways to improve existing manual
procedure.
Record Review and Document searching:
A study of records maintained manually gave a clear idea as to how
the actual process is carried out various documents which are
handled their usage, formats were studied.
Interviews:
Timely discussions with concerned person were made to understand the
exact requirements of the system. These discussions were also useful in
bringing up new ideas as to make system more effective. This technique is
used to collect information from individuals or from groups.
Through such invaluable techniques, it is possible to find much of the
quality information and also some options and underlying problems.
11. 11
Feasibility Study
Feasibility Study is one of the most important & preliminary aspects of
software development. We hereby specify three basic criteria of our
feasibility study.
Technical Feasibility:-
The study of resources availability that may affect the ability to achieve to
acceptable system. The technical feasibility is frequently the most difficult
area to assure because objectives, functions, and performance somewhat
anything seems possible with technical feasibility includes resources
availability of the origination for which the project is developed.
The system is developed using MS-Access, Visual Basic and it is found that
the hardware and software in the company could easily support the hardware
and software requirements of the system. The system can produce output on
the Ink Jet Printer or other printer supporting normal 80-size text printing,
hence no special printing device is required. The system being user friendly,
data entry and report generation is made easy.
12. 12
Economic Feasibility:-
The expanse of the hardware and software requirements of this system is
found to be very cost effective and beneficial to the origination. The cost
benefit analysis of the system was found to be pro benefit from the following
points-
The technical facilities used in the system reduce the cost.
1.No Specific training is required to the user because the system is user
friendly.
2.As all the system is computerized the cost of paper work and extra
manpower is reduced.
Operational Feasibility:
Consideration about the working after installation in the above
feasibility analysis has already developed.
1. It helps to prepare clearly understandable and faster reports for
management.
2. With appropriate error messages for every screen this makes the
system easy for extreme user and very easy to operate any person.
13. 13
Software And Hardware Requirement:
Software Requirement :
Front End : Visual Basic 6.0
Back End : Microsoft Access
Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP SP2
Hardware Requirement :
Processor : Pentium – 233MHz.
Memory : RAM - 1GB
Storage Device : Hard Disk – 10 GB
