1 Executive summary
1.1 Background
Currently no SAP functionality exists in releases below ERP 2005 (ECC 6.00) to support
Adobe PDF forms for US tax reporting purposes. In the following proposal KDSSC, Inc.
proposes a development for functionality that would allow US tax reporting with legal PDF
forms in SAP release ERP2004.
1.2 Solution Proposal
The proposed solution would be a standalone solution that does not require any modifications
to the current SAP Tax Reporter solution. All components developed through this proposal
shall solely interface with SAP Tax Reporter via standard interfacing and service methods.
Goal of this proposal is to achieve a solution that is simple in its appearance, easy to use and
easy to learn. The scope of PDF Tax Form Services is to allow generic interfacing with the
currently existing SAP Tax Reporter modules as well as it can utilize parts of other SAP
interfacing and services tools to support the data traffic of all underlying business scenarios.
SAP’s US payroll functional areas can be used in a new way which allows existing clients to
participate in PDF Tax Form Services. Such services allow a company to comply with legal
reporting procedures. PDF Tax Form Services will offer multiple functions such as selections,
configuration, and administration of legal PDF tax forms.

The length of the project strongly depends on the detailed features of the final parser version
which will have to be determined.
The development will be performed your SAP systems.
The implementation can be done in multiple phases to enable high priority forms first. A
multiple phased implementation project could have the following phases:

PDF form including development/configuration of the first high priority forms.
