Arvind Datta, the founder and CEO of Marigold Wealth, recently shared his views on X (formerly Twitter) about why he believes the United Arab Emirates (UAE), especially Dubai, is the best place to live. He provided several reasons to support his opinion as well.
“Best place to settle down - UAE and in particular Dubai, Datta wrote.
He explained how to get a golden visa or retirement visa in the UAE. “Buy an AED 2 million (Rs 4.5 crore) property, and you are eligible for a golden visa. Anyone over 55 years old can get a retirement visa if they invest AED 1 million in a property,” he said.
Datta also mentioned Dubai's safety and infrastructure. “No crime. Most safe for women. Best in class infra and many more things,” he added.

People responded with different opinions and a lot of questions.
One person asked, “What about hot weather and no greenery at all?” Datta replied, “Dubai has more greenery than Delhi.”
Another user recommended the Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) area, saying, “Stay in the JLT area. Amazing place with greenery and nice weather with a lake view.”
However, some people were not in agreement with Datta. "No doubt it’s a very safe and best in class infrastructure, but you will always miss your friends and social life," one user stated.
"Everything is perfect except the torrid heat," a user remarked.
A commenter gave personal advice: "Come to India in July and August. That’s when summer is at its peak there. Schools also give holidays. Spent 16 years of my life in nearby Qatar. The Middle East is very much livable, more so than Delhi and Mumbai. In terms of heat, Delhi NCR is just as bad, maybe worse, because most places aren’t air-conditioned. You won’t even miss home because there’s a huge Indian community there.”
Besides praising the UAE, Datta recently shared his great experience with Emirates Airlines. Earlier this month, he talked about a delay at Delhi airport that caused him to miss a connecting flight to Dubai.
"Today due to a technical fault at Delhi, flight was delayed by two hours. Due to delay, missed my connecting flight. There were 80 other pax who too missed," Datta wrote.
He appreciated the Emirates staff at Dubai airport, who managed the situation well by giving new boarding passes, hotel bookings, and visas for affected passengers. “At Dubai airport, Emirates staff was ready with new printed boarding passes and hotel bookings. They provided a visa to go out to the hotel. This service standard sets @emirates apart. Delighting customers always,” he wrote.
Datta also shared that he has preferred Emirates over other airlines for his international travels for the last 16 years because of their excellent customer service.
