Mark Wahlberg has gained and lost weight for roles, but his latest transformation for his upcoming movie gave his wife, Rhea Durham, a “priceless” reaction.

The actor stars in the upcoming action thriller “Flight Risk,” directed by Mel Gibson. The first trailer was released on June 27 and shows a balding Wahlberg as a pilot transporting an air marshal (Michelle Dockery) and fugitive (Topher Grace) to a trial.

As Wahlberg's character flies them across the Alaskan wilderness, the air marshal and fugitive begin to get a sense that the pilot is not who he says. During a dramatic turn of events, the pilot's baseball cap comes off and reveals Wahlberg's partially shaved head.

It turns out, Wahlberg shaved the top of his head every day for the look.

“There was no bald cap. I shaved the middle and left the horseshoe around the sides. We just shaved it,” Wahlberg told People. “They would shave the top as close to the scalp as possible every day, obviously, because we didn’t have any stubble or anything. So I just hid it with a hat.”

Adding, “But the most priceless thing was seeing my wife’s face when I took my hat off after getting the hair cut for work that day.”

Wahlberg told the magazine that he filmed “Flight Risk” in 22 days, so he only had his head shaved for a couple of weeks.

While Durham, who has been married to the actor since 2009, had quite the reaction to his temporary look, Wahlberg said that his children got a kick out of his look.

“My kids — my boys especially — they loved the haircut,” he said. “They got a lot of laughs out of that.”

Wahlberg and Durham have four children together, sons Michael and Brendan and daughters Ella and Grace.

Back in October 2022, Wahlberg told "The Talk" that he moved his family from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to give his kids “a better life.”

“So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams, whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer,” he explained. “This made a lot more sense for us.”

The father of four added, “There’s lot of opportunity here. I’m really excited about the future.”
