▪ Third eye for blinds is an innovation to help blind
people to navigate with greater comfort, speed
and confidence, while making use of ultrasonic
waves to detect nearby obstacles and to notify the
user through vibrations and beeps of a buzzer.The
idea was inspired from bats, which also use sound
waves of high frequency to move. According to an
estimate, there are 285 million visually impaired
people in the world.The loss of one ,the most
important human senses causes them a lot of
hardships in daily life.The affected ones have
been using the traditional white cane for many
years which although being effective, still has a lot
of disadvantages. Another way is, having a pet
animal such as a dog which is not very common,
for being comparatively expensive. So the aim of
this project is to develop a new, cheap, yet more
efficient way to help the visually impaired
navigate with more speed and confidence.

4. NodeMCU(ESP-8266)
The NodeMCU
(Node MicroController Unit) is an

around an inexpensive System-on-a-
Chip (SoC) called the ESP8266.The
ESP8266, designed and

computer: CPU, RAM, networking

5. Ultrasonic Sensors(HC-SR04)
The HC-SR04 Ultrasonic
Distance Sensor is a sensor
used for detecting the
distance to an object using
sonar. It's ideal for any

which require you to avoid
objects, by detecting how
close they are you can steer
away from them!
6. Ultrasonic Sensors(HC-SR04) Working
It all starts when the trigger pin is set
HIGH for 10µs. In response, the
sensor transmits an ultrasonic burst
of eight pulses at 40 kHz.This 8-
pulse pattern is specially designed so
that the receiver can distinguish the
transmitted pulses from ambient
ultrasonic noise.
These eight ultrasonic pulses travel
through the air away from the
transmitter. Meanwhile the echo pin
goes HIGH to initiate the echo-back
signal.

current will flow through it. We
are going to use this to control
how much electricity flows
through the LED and therefore
how brightly it shines.

Any material (except

resistance to the flow of current is
less and vice versa for an insulator. A
Resistor works by using this natural
property of resistivity/conductivity
of any material. It absorbs energy
from the flow of electrons (electric
energy) and dissipates in the form of
heat (thermal energy).

them to be used to connect
two points to each other
without soldering. Jumper
wires are typically used

are pushed into the sockets
on the breadboard and then
extra 'jumper' wires are used

▪ A buzzer or beeper is an audio
signaling device, which may be
mechanical,
electromechanical, or
piezoelectric (piezo for short).
Typical uses of buzzers and
beepers include alarm devices,
timers, train and confirmation
of user input such as a mouse
click or keystroke.
13. Buzzer Working
▪ The working principle of a buzzer
depends on the theory that, once
the voltage is given across a
piezoelectric material, then a
pressure difference is produced. A
piezo type includes piezo crystals
among two conductors.
▪ Once a potential disparity is given
across these crystals, then they
thrust one conductor & drag the
additional conductor through
their internal property. So this
continuous action will produce a
sharp sound signal.
14. Vibrating Motor
▪ The first vibrator motor was developed in the year
1960 which are used for product massaging,
but the motor development has taken a new twist
in the year 1990 as users need vibration calls on
their cell phones. At present, the motor designers,
as well as users, have discovered from mobile
phones, that mobile alerting with vibration is an
outstanding technique to alert mobile operators
to an incident. Nowadays, small vibrating motors
are used in a wide range of applications like
scanners, tools, GPS trackers, control sticks, and
medical instruments.These motors are also the
main actuators for force feedback which is an
economical method to enhance the value of a
product.
15. Vibrating Motor Working
Vibration motor is a coreless DC
motor and the size of this motor is
compact.The main purpose of this
motor is to alert the user from receiving
the call by without sound/vibrating.
These motors are applicable for
different applications like pagers,
handsets, cell phones, etc.The main
feature of this motor is, it has magnetic
properties, lightweight, and motor size
is small. Based on these features, the
motor performance is highly consistent.
The configuration of these motors can
be done in two varieties one is coin
model and another one is a cylinder
model.The vibrator motor
specifications mainly include type, max
operating torque, max.centrifugal force,
weight range, rated current and output.

board used to develop IoT

module. A 16×2 LCD can display

single line and it has a total of
two lines only.

handle electronic system with amazing properties and advantages is
proposed to provide constructive assistant and support for the blind
persons. It is able to scan , sence and detect the obstacles in the areas
like left, right, and in front of the blind person regardless of its height
or depth. so, with the help of our device the blind person can walk
with confidence and without any problem.

problems. Nowadays, there are many instruments and intelligent devices
for visually impaired people for navigation. Still, most of them have specific
issues with carrying, and the major drawbacks are those that need a lot of
training to use. One of the main peculiarities of this innovation is that it is
affordable for everyone.There are no such devices available in the market
that can be worn like cloth and have such a low cost and simplicity. When
used on a large scale, with improvements in the prototype, it will drastically
