This document summarizes a seminar on the Adamic Covenant between God and Adam based on Genesis 3:14-19. It describes the covenant's participants as God and Adam representing humanity. It outlines the provisions, including curses placed on the serpent, Satan, Eve, and Adam. For Adam and humanity, it describes the introduction of physical death, hardship in work, and separation from God. The covenant became the basis for the Dispensation of Conscience and remains in effect today as an unconditional covenant.
This, second lesson in the series on Male-Female Relationships addresses the order between men, women, and children God has given us for the local church.
Genesis 3 describes humanity's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden. Satan, disguised as a serpent, tempts Eve to eat fruit from the forbidden tree by sowing seeds of doubt in God's word. Eve then gives the fruit to Adam, and they immediately realize they are naked and ashamed. God questions Adam and Eve about their actions, but they blame each other and the serpent. God curses the serpent and prophecies that Eve's offspring (Jesus Christ) will one day defeat Satan. Their disobedience separates them from God and introduces sin, fear, and shame into the world.
The document summarizes the biblical account of the fall of man in Genesis chapters 2-3. It describes how Satan in the form of a serpent deceived Eve into eating the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, contrary to God's command. As a result, Adam and Eve disobeyed God and fell from their sinless state. God then confronted and judged Adam and Eve for their sin, but also clothed them and initiated reconciliation. The summary highlights how Satan used lies to tempt humanity to stray from God, and how God sought to bring man back into relationship with Him despite the fall.
Genesis 3 describes humanity's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden through Satan's temptation of Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. God punishes humanity for their disobedience by cursing the ground and instituting physical death. He also curses Satan, promising future conflict between Satan's seed and the woman's seed that will result in Christ defeating Satan. The chapter establishes the fundamental problem of sin and separation from God in humanity and sets the stage for God's plan of salvation through Christ.
The Quest for Holiness: The Origin and Nature of Sincogop4610
The Bible study lesson discusses the origin and nature of sin based on passages from Genesis. It summarizes how God created man in His image but man disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit when beguiled by the serpent. This original sin resulted in punishment for Adam, Eve, and the serpent. It caused death and separation from God for all mankind. The lesson emphasizes that Jesus's sacrifice would redeem humanity and restore relationship with God.
The document summarizes key points from a teaching on Genesis 3:1-15:
1) Satan questions God's authority and prohibition in the garden, challenging the terms of the covenant between God and Adam.
2) Satan convinces Eve to doubt God's motives for the prohibition.
3) God promises enmity between the serpent's seed and Eve's seed, referring collectively to believers and non-believers who will be in conflict, but also narrowing to a singular confrontation between Christ and Satan.
4) Christ, as the second Adam, will obey God and defeat Satan by his death on the cross, reversing the effects of the fall and allowing humanity access to the tree of
This document provides an overview and analysis of key passages from Genesis relating to the Abrahamic covenant and the fall of man. It discusses how Satan questioned God's command to Adam, leading Eve to evaluate God's terms on her own. It analyzes how Adam should have confronted Satan rather than letting Eve speak with him. The document also summarizes how the disobedience of the first Adam plunged mankind into sin and curse, requiring a second, obedient Adam (Jesus) to fulfill the covenant and allow people to return to God's kingdom. Genesis 3:15 contains God's first promise of this by placing enmity between the serpent and Eve's seed, with Jesus ultimately crushing Satan's head through the cross.

The document discusses several biblical passages that reference relationships between God and humanity. It notes Genesis passages about God cursing the serpent and promising enmity between humanity and serpents. It mentions Isaiah passages about the virgin birth and the prophecy of Jesus being called Wonderful Counselor and Prince of Peace. It discusses Jeremiah passages about God making a new covenant and forgiving sins. It outlines several passages from John about Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus about being born again and having eternal life through belief in Jesus as the Son of Man.
This document is an introduction to a book about how to grow with God in the Kingdom of Heaven. It discusses that there are two kingdoms on Earth - the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. It says that by making Jesus Lord of your life, you become a citizen of God's kingdom. The book is intended to help new members of God's kingdom understand what it means to live an abundant life in the kingdom.
The document summarizes the biblical account of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden based on Genesis chapters 1-3. It describes how God created Adam and Eve, placed them in the garden, and commanded them not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It then explains how the serpent deceived Eve into eating the fruit, which she shared with Adam. As a result of their disobedience, God cursed them and banished them from the garden.
The document summarizes chapter 12 of a biblical study. It describes Satan being cast out of heaven after losing a war against Michael and his angels. This prompts Satan to persecute the woman Israel and her child Messiah. However, the male child is born and caught up to God's throne, while the woman flees persecution into the wilderness. Satan then tries to destroy the woman's other offspring, representing believers who keep God's commandments.
The document summarizes key events in Genesis chapters 1-3 relating to the creation of the world, humanity's fall into sin, and the consequences of that fall. It describes how God created the world and declared it "very good," but how sin later entered through Satan deceiving Eve and Adam disobeying God's command. As a result of their sin, they became ashamed, tried to hide from God, blamed each other, and experienced separation from God and hardship in life. The document emphasizes that only through Christ's righteousness can humanity be restored.
Satan used deception and fear to convince Adam and Eve to sin. He deceived Eve by questioning God and implying the forbidden fruit was good, using a talking serpent to sow doubt about God's warning. Eve was deceived but Adam was not, choosing to eat the fruit out of fear of losing Eve and not trusting God had a solution. Satan will use the same tactics of deception through signs and wonders, and coercion through fear of losing basic needs, to deceive people at the end of time in opposing God.
1) The world faces many problems like war, poverty, and injustice that human efforts alone cannot solve. God has a plan to restore order and humanity's relationship with Him.
2) God created humans in His image to be good and to have fellowship with Him, but sin disrupted this. However, God continued to offer grace and protection to humans.
3) God sent Jesus Christ to overcome sin and evil. By accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, individuals can experience God's love and allow His plan of restoration to begin in their lives.
The document outlines key aspects of the plan of salvation according to Seventh-day Adventist theology. It begins with sin separating humanity from God in the Garden of Eden. God then devised the plan of redemption to restore humanity and bring them back into communion with Him. This involved various prophecies and types found in the Old Testament sanctuary services that pointed to Jesus' ministry in the heavenly sanctuary. Jesus' death on the cross and entrance into the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary in 1844 are significant events in cleansing the sanctuary and carrying out the final atonement for God's people. Those who understand and hold to these truths will work to prepare others for Christ's second coming.
This document contains lecture notes on the topic of the Fall from a Christian worldview perspective. It begins by defining the Fall as the biblical story where Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sinned by eating the forbidden fruit when tempted by the serpent. It then discusses key aspects of the story, including how Adam and Eve were tempted in the same ways that Jesus was later tempted in the wilderness. The consequences of the Fall are then listed as expulsion from the garden, a corrupted earth, the introduction of conflict, and humanity becoming sinful and alienated from God. Sin is defined, and different Hebrew and Greek words for sin in the Bible are explained. The lecture concludes by drawing an analogy between the Fall narrative and a
This document provides a summary of key events in Genesis chapters 1-3, including:
1) God's creation of life and humanity's innocence while in His presence in the garden.
2) The introduction of sin and death through the temptation of Adam and Eve by the serpent. This results in their banishment from the garden and God's presence.
3) The consequences of the fall, including God's questioning of Adam, Eve, and the serpent, curses placed on them, and clothing Adam and Eve with skins instead of their fig leaves.
The document provides commentary on Revelation 12 and 13 regarding the woman, the dragon, the beasts, and the false prophet. It summarizes that the woman represents God's people who are persecuted by Satan (the dragon). Satan is defeated in heaven and cast down to earth. Two beasts then arise - one from the sea who blasphemes God and wages war against believers, and one from the earth who supports the first beast and deceives people with signs and wonders, promoting worship of the beasts.
This document provides a summary of Lesson 9 from the Genesis creation account. It discusses how God said it was not good for man to be alone, so he created woman as a helper for Adam. It describes how God brought the animals to Adam to name, but none were found to be a suitable helper for him. So God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep and took one of his ribs to create woman. The lesson examines what can be learned from the process God used to create woman, including that he wanted Adam and Eve to be equal partners and join together. It also discusses how sin affected the marriage relationship by altering the wife's submission and generating abuse, but that marriage remains a divine institution. The ideal marriage relationships

The document discusses the fall of man from God's grace due to sin. It describes how Adam and Eve disobeyed God's command in the Garden of Eden and ate from the forbidden tree, bringing sin into the world. As a result of their sin, they were banished from the garden and humanity became separated from God. However, the document also discusses how God provided a solution by sending Jesus to die for humanity's sins so that all may be reconciled to God through faith in Him.
This document discusses the origins of sin and its consequences for humanity. It explains that Adam and Eve's disobedience separated them from God and introduced sin into the world. As a result, humanity tries unsuccessfully to reach God through their own efforts. The document then discusses how Jesus came down as a perfect sacrifice to take away humanity's sins as their substitute, captain of salvation, and sanctifier. It celebrates that Jesus is the reason for Christmas and the season.
The document discusses Jesus as the "Seed of Woman" from Genesis 3:15. It explains that this was the first gospel promise from God, foretelling that one day the seed of the woman would crush the serpent's head. Throughout the Bible, God continued promising to send a savior from the seed of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David, which was fulfilled in Jesus. As the Seed of Woman, Jesus has the power to conquer Satan and bring pardon to mankind for their sins through his death and resurrection. Believing in Jesus and accepting his promise of salvation allows people to be forgiven and set free from the penalty of sin.
The document provides an overview of spiritual warfare based on the biblical account of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. It summarizes that God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of knowledge but the serpent tempted Eve, contradicting God's word. Eve then ate the fruit and gave some to Adam. As a result, their eyes were opened, they felt shame, and hid from God. When God questions them, they blame each other. God then curses the serpent and humanity. The document explains that Adam's sin caused spiritual death for all humanity and discusses how believers now face spiritual warfare and must choose to follow God and the Holy Spirit rather than live according to human desires.

Genesis chapter 1 describes God's creation of the world over six days. Each day, God brought more order and life to the formless earth. God created light, sky, land, plants, stars, sea life, birds, animals, and finally humans, who God created in His own image. The chapter shows that God carefully and purposefully created an orderly world and all that exists in it.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise boosts blood flow and levels of neurotransmitters and endorphins which elevate and stabilize mood.

The document discusses the concept of free will according to Christian theology. It provides three examples of areas where humans have free will: 1) to decide who or what to serve (God or other gods/idols), 2) to decide whether to obey or disobey God's commands, and 3) to decide between choosing life or death. It then discusses five theological positions associated with Arminianism: that salvation depends on faith, the atonement is sufficient for all but applied to believers, no one can save themselves without God's help, God's grace is the sole source of salvation but can be resisted, and God's grace enables believers to resist sin though salvation can be lost by turning away from God.

2. When?
● Genesis chapter 3 is a difficult chapter to date because
we are not told how long Adam and Eve lived in the
Garden of Eden.
● It could have been 5 days, or it could have been 50 years.
All we can say for sure is that chapter 3 is the first
recorded history following the creation of our universe.
3. Who?
● God - The Creator of the universe, earth, animals, men,
and women.
● The First Man – In this chapter, we are told the man’s
name was Adam.
● The First Woman – Adam named his wife Eve “because
she was the mother of all living” (3:20).
● The Serpent – A crafty deceiver who convinced Eve to
disobey God.
4. MANS FIRST TEMPTATION AND THE FIRST SIN (3:1-7)
Chapter 3 introduces us to a new character, a serpent.
● Who is he?
● Revelation 12:7-9 NIV
“Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought
against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But
he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The
great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the
devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled
to the earth, and his angels with him.”
5. 2 Corinthians 11:1-3 NIV
“I hope you will put up with me in a little foolishness. Yes,
please put up with me! I am jealous for you with a godly
jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I
might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid
that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your
minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and
pure devotion to Christ.”l,
6. ● Genesis does not mention Satan by name
● Nor does it specifically state that Satan or any other
demonic being controlled the serpent
● Satan is called “that serpent of old” in Revelation
○ Do to the time between Genesis 3 and Revelation 12
7. THE FIRST TEMPTATION AND THE FIRST SIN
(3:1-7):
● The serpent came to the woman and asked her about
God’s rules regarding which trees they were eat from.
● The woman told the serpent they could eat from every
tree except the in the middle of the garden. For if they
ate of that tree they would die.
● The serpent told her she was mistaken. For if she ate
from the fruit of the tree. Her and Adam would “be like
God, knowing good and evil.”
8. The Order
God's Order
● Adam first, as the head, then
his wife, as helper(2:18-25)
● God gave Adam the
responsibility of the garden
and all living things(2:15)
● When God came calling, he
called to Adam(3:9)
Satan’s Order
● The serpent wanted to
subvert God’s order
● First approach Eve rather
then Adam(3:1)
● Eve spoke the the
serpent(3:2)
● Eve ate first(3:6)
9. The woman ate the fruit and then gave some to
her husband to eat.
Unintentional Sin
● Eve's sin was being
deceived
(unintentional)
● Leviticus 4:27-28
Intentional Sin
● Adam’s sin was that he
knowingly chose
(intentional) to follow
his wife to another god
● 1 Kings 11
10. Leviticus 4:27-28 NIV
““ ‘If any member of the community sins unintentionally and
does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, when
they realize their guilt and the sin they have committed becomes
known, they must bring as their offering for the sin they
committed a female goat without defect.”
11. 1 Kings 11:9-10 NIV
“The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart
had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had
appeared to him twice. Although he had forbidden Solomon
to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s
command.”
12. 1 Kings 11:11-12 NIV
“So the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude
and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which
I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom
away from you and give it to one of your subordinates.
Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do
it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your
son.”
13. “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they
realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves
together and made coverings for themselves.” Gen. 3:7
● Genesis 2:25 NIV “Adam and his wife were both naked, and
they felt no shame.” Genesis 3:7 helps us understand how
powerful is the condition of innocence really is.
● Before their sin they felt no need for covering their bodies
because there was no sin. After their sin they became aware
of their guilt, shame, and that they were exposed. They tried
covering up their guilt and shame on their own.
14. GOD CONFRONTS THE ADAM AND EVE ABOUT
THEIR DISOBEDIENCE (3:8-13):
● The man and woman tried in vain to hide from God in
the garden in the cool of the day.
● When God found them, He discovered they had eaten
the forbidden fruit.
● Adam blamed first God for Eve’s creation than Eve for
giving him the fruit. 3:12
● Eve blamed the serpent for deceiving her.
15. Godly Headship
● God gave headship over the family to Adam
○ therefore Adam was responsible for Eve
○ the command not to eat from the forbidden tree was
given to Adam
● Today we have the same crisis in our homes
○ we as men are allowing women in there houses to
have headship
16. Godly Headship
Why does this happen?
● T.V. Has made it a norm with programing
● In most First Word Nations reverse headship is the
norm
● The welfare state where people are taught from a young
age that you don’t need a Man and Woman as parents in
a family
17. Godly Headship
How do we maintain Godly Headship over our homes and
family?
● Ephesians 5:21-33
● This is the instructions for Christian Household
18. Ephesians 5:21-24 NIV
“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives,
submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the
Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the
head of the church, his body, of which he is the
Savior.”“Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives
should submit to their husbands in everything.”
19. Ephesians 5:25-27 NIV
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and
gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the
washing with water through the word, and to present her to
himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other
blemish, but holy and blameless.”
20. Ephesians 5:28-30 NIV
“In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their
own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one
ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body,
just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body.”
21. Godly Headship
● Men as the leaders in the house responsible for all things that
happen in the house
● Crisis that happen are our responsibility
● Don’t be like Adam and try passing on the Buck
22. THE CURSE OF SIN (3:14-19):
● God cursed the serpent “above all livestock and above all
beasts.”
● In a prophesy about the future, God said to the serpent
(Genesis 3:15 NIV)““And I will put enmity between you and
the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will
crush your head, and you will strike his heel.””
23. THE CURSE OF SIN (3:14-19):
Woman
God told the woman she
would have pain in
childbearing and her
husband would rule over her.
Man
God told the man the ground
was going to be cursed because
of his sin. He would have to
labor with difficulty to grow
food and eventually he would
return to the ground and dust
from which he was created.
24. THE MAN AND WOMAN ARE REMOVED FROM THE
GARDEN (3:20-24):
● The man named his wife Eve “because she was the mother of
all living.”
● God made the man (Adam) and Eve garments to wear from
animal skins.
● He removed them from the Garden of Eden so they would
no longer have access to the tree of life, which allowed them
to live forever.
25. Todays Relevance
● Not following Gods design leads to sin that separates us from
Him
● Just like Adam and Eve were removed from the garden (a life
of ease) and thrust out into a world of difficulty. The same
came happen to us
● Don’t listen to the lies of Satan, because disobeying Gods
commands leads to death.
