Generative AI
● Generative AI refers to a type of artiﬁcial intelligence that is able to
generate new content, such as text, images, or music, based on a set
of inputs or a training dataset.
● Generative models are able to learn the patterns and features of the
training data and use this knowledge to generate new, previously
unseen examples that are similar to the training data.
● These generated examples can be used for a variety of purposes,
including creating new content, completing tasks, or enhancing
existing systems.

What is ChatGPT ?
● ChatGPT is speciﬁcally designed to assist with generating
human-like text in a chatbot or conversational setting.
● It has been trained on a large dataset of chat and conversation
transcripts, and is able to generate responses that are appropriate
and relevant to the input it receives.
● ChatGPT, which is a variant of the popular language model GPT-3
(Generative Pre-training Transformer 3)

Relation to GPT-3
● ChatGPT is a variant of the GPT-3 language model.
● Designed and trained to assist with generating human-like text in a
chatbot or conversational setting.
● ChatGPT is a specialized version of GPT-3 that has been tailored for
use in chatbot applications.

Models
● GPT-3:
○ Our GPT-3 models can understand and generate natural
language. (latest model - text-davinvi-003)
● Codex:
○ The Codex models are descendants of our GPT-3 models that
can understand and generate code.
● Content Filter:
○ The ﬁlter aims to detect generated text that could be sensitive
or unsafe coming from the API.

ChatGPT against Google Search
● It’ll be an uphill climb to unseat Google. By some estimates,
ChatGPT has more than 90% of the current search market.
● Language models improve as more users test them out.
● Monetizing an AI product is going to be a key part.
● According to “The New York Times”, it’s release led Google’s
management to declare a “code red.”
