Loren Wang

Loren Lo-Wen Wang is a computer engineering student at the University of Michigan seeking experience in computer engineering. He has interned at Intel twice, working on automation testing frameworks and debugging mobile chips. He has also conducted research at the Institute of Semiconductors in China on semiconductor projects and assisted with robotics testing at Tsinghua University. Additionally, he serves as a board member for the UM Badminton Club.

Education High School: Harrow International School Beijing 2006-2012 University: University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (College of Engineering) GPA: 3.07/4.00 Major: Computer Engineering Minor: Statistics 2012-Present Field related classes: EECS 473: Advanced Embedded Systems, EECS 492: Intro to AI EECS 445: Intro to Machine Learning, EECS 467: Autonomous Robotics Skills: Python, C/C++, Verilog, Assembly, ARM, Arduino, Linux Terminal, PowerShell Work Experience and Research Intel 2015  Interned in the System Validations Group. Modified existing automation framework and introduced a new structure to run tests.  Wrote wrapper scripts to enable the automation of several tests. Integrated these tests into the automation framework. Intel (Mobile Communications Group) 2013  Interned in the System Debuggers Group. Tested mobile chips and their corresponding software; ran debugging tests to help resolve problems and bugs  Maintained and pushed tests onto the office’s automated testing software. Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Science 2014  Collaborated with grad students in their design and implementation of several semiconductor-based projects, including the UI for a radar device and a very precise humidity sensor.  Assisted lab personnel in tests of newly produced semiconductors. Tsinghua University RoboCup Team 2012  Administered tests of robots’ abilities (walking, shooting, goalkeeping), worked with grad students and professors to implement improvements. Achieved 2nd place in China’s largest Robocup tournament. Other Activities Board Member of the UM Badminton Club March 2014-Current  Revived casual club with waning popularity and established it as a formal club sport  Participated in the daily administrative, financial, and recruiting duties of the club  Found coaches and organized weekly training sessions for the members
