Jiffy Lube® International is a wholly owned, indirect subsidiary of Shell Oil Company.
Jiffy Lube® pioneered the fast oil change industry in 1979 by establishing the first
drive-through service bay, providing customers with fast and professional maintenance
service for their vehicles. There are over 20 legacy applications in the Fast Lubes (JLI)

systems, and are not integrated with JLI Point of Sale (POS) system. These
applications were developed either in PowerBuilder 4.0/6.5 or VB.net 2003 with SQL
2000 database. The outdated technology and low maintainability of these systems
have been barriers to ongoing support and maintenance.

optimization) and download to the PCS task queue. At blend runtime, it is requested, verified
as ready with associated feed tasks being built based on formulation/BOM details and written
back into the PCS for blending.
At the completion of the blend, ABB Report reads blend specific records for each step,
associates it to the planned steps and generates a report, which is stored in the CAP database
and printed. This data is used for task reconciliation by the PTM Suite.

away for a number of countries (20-30) and 14 countries are not within the GSAP scope.
Automate network demand process to ensure 100% of demand passes between selling country
and source locations freeing up planner’s time.
Project #6
Title : FLBIW (Fast Lube Data Warehouse)
Client : Shell (US)
Team size : 5
Software : SSAS, SQL Server 2008, ProClarity 6.3
Duration : Feb 2011 to Aug 2011
Role : Senior Programmer
Responsibilities:
• Understanding the client requirements
• Design and Deployment of Cubes
Description:
The main objective of this system is to allow users to create reports with valuable business
information by using Microsoft Access, SQL queries or ProClarity Desktop. It accomplishes this
goal by integrating information from several sources, applying business logic to standardize it
and processing and loading it into Analysis Services cubes, which allow the users to exploit all
of the information.
The system consists of four tiers, each represented by a server that plays a specific role in the
overall solution. The reporting layer serves users with information by creating specific reports
using ProClarity Analytics 6.3. The reporting layer communicates with the BI layer where the
information cubes are hosted in SQL Server Analysis Services 2008 R2 and provide all the data
needed to create the requested reports. The BI layer uses information stored in the database
tier where SQL Server 2008 R2 hosts the required databases and allows data to be selected
and processed for the BI cubes. The last tier in the system is the integration tier which applies
business transformation logic to the information pulled from three interfaces, these being
Customer IO Survey, National History Database and STATS.
Project #7
Title : Bulk Inventory Management (BIM)
Client : Shell (Global)
Team size : 3
Software : C#.NET, SQL Server 2005
Duration : April 2010 to Jan 2011
Role : Developer
Responsibilities:
• Understanding the client requirements
• Front-end programming
• Unit testing and Code review
Description:
BIM is a tool that forecasts inventory requirements based on a number of factors including
shipment history, tank allocation and average daily usage. As shipment history is built over
time (up to 12 months of history could be taken into account in worst case 3months in a
typical case), forecasting accuracy becomes more reliable. Forecasted inventory requirements
are then evaluated using the order simulation feature. Simulated orders will be extracted in
xml format by BizTalk by executing a stored procedure in BIM database and sends it to GSAP.
Additionally, BIM provides a variety of useful reports including the Customer Shipment History
report, which can be used as a consultative selling tool. Initial customer contract is held in BIM.

  • 7. Role : Senior Programmer Responsibilities: • Understanding the client requirements • Design and Deployment of Cubes Description: The main objective of this system is to allow users to create reports with valuable business information by using Microsoft Access, SQL queries or ProClarity Desktop. It accomplishes this goal by integrating information from several sources, applying business logic to standardize it and processing and loading it into Analysis Services cubes, which allow the users to exploit all of the information. The system consists of four tiers, each represented by a server that plays a specific role in the overall solution. The reporting layer serves users with information by creating specific reports using ProClarity Analytics 6.3. The reporting layer communicates with the BI layer where the information cubes are hosted in SQL Server Analysis Services 2008 R2 and provide all the data needed to create the requested reports. The BI layer uses information stored in the database tier where SQL Server 2008 R2 hosts the required databases and allows data to be selected and processed for the BI cubes. The last tier in the system is the integration tier which applies business transformation logic to the information pulled from three interfaces, these being Customer IO Survey, National History Database and STATS. Forecasted inventory requirements are then evaluated using the order simulation feature. Simulated orders will be extracted in xml format by BizTalk by executing a stored procedure in BIM database and sends it to GSAP. Additionally, BIM provides a variety of useful reports including the Customer Shipment History report, which can be used as a consultative selling tool. Initial customer contract is held in BIM.
