TikTok Notes
TikTok is currently working on a dedicated photo app called TikTok Notes. Some users have already been prompted with a pop-up that says their photos will be posted on this new platform unless they opt-out.
New Guide on How to Maximise its ‘Promote’ Ad Option
TikTok has published some advice on amplifying content by giving it a paid boost to reach a broader audience.
The guide covers how Promote works, its ins and outs, best practices, and how to achieve success using different industry examples.
Instagram’s Notify Sticker
To maximise fan connections, Instagram has launched a new sticker that creators can add to their Stories, allowing users to subscribe to notifications.
Notifications were already an available feature accessible through the main profile, but due to Instagram wanting to push Stories this year, it makes sense that they wanted to add more ways for audiences to stay up-to-date with new content.
TESTING - Short Videos in the Search Menu Bar
Google is testing adding a Shorts Videos option in the search menu bar so users can filter search results by shorter videos. This feed would direct users to short videos published on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram & more.
New YouTube Shopping Features
YouTube has released some updates to its Shopping features to push revenue on the platform:
Facebook’s Updated Video Feed
Facebook has rolled out a new, full-screen video player to display videos in a TikTok format.
Facebook is also adding a simplified Reactions UI, an improved slider along the bottom to scan through clips, and easy jump-back and forward options.
Meta’s AI Labelling Policy
Meta is updating its AI content labels to ensure that a broader range of synthetic content is being tagged. The company will start labelling a more comprehensive range of video, audio and image content as “Made with AI” when they detect industry-standard AI image indicators or when people disclose that they’re uploading AI-generated content.
