Michael Easton is leaving "General Hospital."

The actor announced his exit from the long-running ABC soap in a June 26 selfie video on Instagram.

“I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye. That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone,” said Easton. “But I thought you all deserved better, so I just wanted to let you know that I just filmed my final scenes here at 'General Hospital.'"

Easton first appeared on "General Hospital" in 2012 when he brought his "One Life to Live" character, Detective John McBain, to Port Charles in a crossover episode.

After portraying McBain and other characters for several years on "GH," he originated the role of infectious disease specialist Dr. Hamilton Finn, in 2016.

Easton was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for his work on "GH" in 2018.

“I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here," Easton said in his goodbye video before thanking the soap's cast and crew "for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years."

“Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you’ve shown me and my family. I won’t ever forget you. And as I walk out here for the last time, and with apologies to the great Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the Earth," said Easton, quoting baseball legend Gehrig's famous 1939 retirement speech.

Easton captioned his video, "Thank you for your kindness. My heart is filled with love and gratitude. #gh #goodbye."

News of Easton's exit from "General Hospital" comes just one day after Jonathan Jackson announced he would be returning to the soap after a nearly a decade's absence.

The former "Nashville" star said in an Instagram video that he was "super excited" to resume his role as Lucky Spencer, the son of Luke and Laura Spencer.
