The Galaxy S24 series brought Galaxy AI, a suite of AI-powered features that can come very handy in day-to-day usage. One of the main features of Galaxy AI is Google’s Circle to Search (CtS). It allows you to search about anything on the screen by just drawing a circle around it. Well, Google is now working on making Circle to Search even better by giving it the ability to identify songs or popular audio clips.

According to a post from @AssembleDebug on X/Twitter, the latest beta version of the Google app (the app that offers Circle to Search on Samsung phones and tablets) has a new button with the design of an audio tune, beside the button for translating text on the screen, as you can see in the screenshot below. This button does not appear by default and the app researcher had to activate it manually.

What does it do?

Currently, the button is not functional and there’s no official information on what it does. However, going by the design of the audio tune, it looks like when you click on it, Circle to Search could use the phone’s microphone to listen to what’s going on around you, and if it detects a song or a popular audio clip, it will show you info about it. It could also let you hum a song and tell you the song that you are looking for.

The story continues after the video…

The new feature will make it easier for Samsung phone/tablet users to identify a song or search information about a popular audio clip. Hopefully, we will get to know more about it in the next beta version of the Google app, which could activate the button’s functionalities. Until then, you can watch our video above to check out the five productive features that Samsung phones offer but Apple's don’t.
