(gavel banging) - Intellectual property is one of the hottest subjects in the business and legal community today, and there's a good reason for that. 50 years ago, the typical American company had about 20% of its assets in intellectual property or intangible assets. Today that number is more like 80%. That means almost every company in America is dealing in intellectual property every day. It's their biggest asset. I'm Dana Robinson. I'm an intellectual property attorney and law professor. I've spent almost 25 years working with IP clients, both large and small. In this course, I'd like to share the basics of intellectual property law. It's my goal for you to become conversant in this fascinating subject. So let's dig in.
