Director of Talent Acquisition at SBH Plus/SBH Fashion
CPG focused Packaging agency based in NYC is hiring a Senior Strategist to join their team. In office 2x a week.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities are included but not limited to:
Creates the bridge between account and creative disciplines – is able to clarify objectives and translate insights for design/expression
Sees the ‘big picture’ of a client engagement, making connections between product design, portfolio architecture, and brand positioning/purpose
Delights in finding the connective thread across an engagement, able to use storytelling to build a narrative logic flow in decks/presentations
Owns relationships with key insights clients, partners with client service leads to establish relationships with key marketing clients (plus, design management if available)
Design Related
Partners with designers to identify brand/category codes, territories and design stories
Can easily ‘visualize’ words and phrases for design translation
Takes responsibility for design strategy decisions (in partnership with creative)
Brand Related
Familiar with qualitative research (specs/screener/guide development), added bonus if proficient in conducting in-depth/one-on-one interviews
Conversant in quant methodology – able to identify problem to be solved and brief a vendor
Can readily identify the most compelling insights around culture/category/consumer
Loves language and enjoys identifying the ‘perfect’ words or phrases to describe a brand promise and characteristics/personality
Owns the articulation of brand-on-a-page documents
Lead the development of strategy decks/discovery phases of design projects
Development Related
Thinks laterally; is able to identify brand ‘stretch’ for architecture or innovation opportunities/pipeline development
Thinks about where brands can grow and where they can go – especially with regards to new business
Enjoys thinking through a discovery phase and recommending strategic steps for proposal development
Wants to help build our department’s reputation within and outside the office
Has opinions and wants to partner with marketing to get thought pieces published
Engages in development of strategy tools and setting strategy expectations

Has emotional intelligence, can sense if teams are getting what they need, establishing partnerships built on trust and inspiration
Is familiar and comfortable with client-facing engagements; becoming known as the ‘smartest one in the room’ and someone the client depends on/asks for

A few Qualifications that will help:
B.A. Degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Design or Psychology. MBA a plus
3-5 years experience in marketing, branding or strategic planning roles
Demonstrated leadership and growth capabilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office. Keynote
Experience in communicating strategic direction to creative teams
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
