Role Mandate

The Senior Director, Talent Acquisition & Development is responsible for the creation and execution of comprehensive talent strategies and programs in support of driving a high-performance culture. This role partners with HR leadership, business partners and executives to lead all talent development and talent acquisition activities, including talent planning, talent development, training, recruitment, onboarding and employer branding. This role will be responsible for the management and development of a team of direct reports.

  • Provide leadership to the talent team by creating a culture of accountability with a focus on delivering measurable results.
  • Provide input and oversight, guidance, and strategic direction on all activities related to talent acquisition, including internship programs, new hire orientation and onboarding, and employer branding.
  • Provide input and oversight, guidance, and strategic direction on all activities related to talent development, including succession planning, performance management, career management, training, employee engagement, leadership development, etc.
  • Lead organizational diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Have dotted line responsibility for the global Talent Acquisition function to ensure all approved positions are filled in a timely manner with qualified candidates in a cost-effective manner.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership and HR Business Partners to ensure talent acquisition and development activities are aligned with the needs of the business.
  • Develop staffing strategies and implement plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organization for building a sustainable talent pipeline.
  • Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidate sourcing for all levels within the company; oversee vendor and agency selection, contract negotiations, and relationships.
  • Influence action by hiring managers and executives to ensure that vacancies are filled in a timely manner with qualified candidates.
  • Develop data-driven headcount and workforce planning processes to ensure the right people are in the right roles with a clear view of talent supply and demand.
  • Identify and/or develop assessment techniques to enhance the reliability and validity of talent acquisition and internal promotion processes to enhance retention and performance.
  • Design, develop and deliver hiring manager training programs and tools to help bring objectivity and efficacy in the hiring process and assist leaders in making high quality and objective hiring decisions.


Year One Critical Success Factors

  • The Senior Director, Talent Acquisition & Development will be responsible for cutting through complexity to identify and execute against key priorities and accelerate Revlon’s turnaround efforts in North America. S/he will be able to act with decisiveness, mindful of speed to execution and return on investments.
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners to develop a clear and coherent short and long-term strategy for each brand to deliver on near-term financial targets, while positioning the business for sustainable long-term growth.
  • Champion complex multi-channel strategy, establish clear KPIs and keep the team accountable to specific targets, making thoughtful resource allocation decisions.
  • Act as a coach and mentor, developing talent and overall organizational capability, inspiring team members all levels of the organization.


The Candidate

Experience Requirements

  • 8-10 years’ experience in a senior Human Resources position, with a minimum of 5 years working in a Recruiting/Talent Acquisition capacity across multiple functional areas and geographies.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading and managing people at various layers of an organization and across multiple locations.
  • Significant experience driving and managing solutions in the following areas: workforce planning, succession planning, talent acquisition, learning and development, career development, competency models and performance management.
  • Experience creating and implementing projects and process changes from inception to completion.

  • Proficient in creating and managing a budget and implementing metrics to effectively track cost-per-hire, time to fill, sourcing effectiveness, quality of hire, and other recruitment related metrics.
  • Expertise in helping to build and manage a strong employer brand.
  • Outstanding internal customer service skills.
  • Sense of urgency, can do attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Self-directed and able to work autonomously.
  • Strong leadership qualities and skills with the ability to build trust and motivate and inspire staff.
  • Strong communication skills: must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.


Education

An undergraduate degree is required; Masters/MBA degree is nice to have.
