Data Mesh for all ages
Data Mesh for all ages explains the core principles driving the Data Mesh paradigm for babies to the elderly using simple analogies to the world. The book starts by explaining that everything is data. It then illustrates the four principles of Data Mesh: domain ownership, federated (computational) governance, data as a product, and the self-service platform.

Spark in Action, Second Edition
Manning Publications, Co.
In Spark in Action, Second Edition, you’ll learn to take advantage of Spark’s core features and incredible processing speed, with applications including real-time computation, delayed evaluation, and machine learning. Spark skills are a hot commodity in enterprises worldwide, and with Spark’s powerful and flexible Java APIs, you can reap all the benefits without first learning Scala or Hadoop.
I would say that this is the best book on Spark I've read.

I liked the fact that the author picked hard messy problems, where the raw data can be fuzzy and require some finessing to get sorted out. The Dublin library example was a nice example of the parsing required to clean up the data. This book should be a good one-stop-shop for getting started with Apache Spark. It doesn't shy away from difficult problems and has definitely holds your hand through some of the trickier bits.

I've learned so much about the topic, tried the brilliant examples, and dove deep into it.

Informix 12.10 on Mac 10.12 with a dash of Java 8
Covers a detailed installation of Informix 12.x on a Mac, load demo data sets. We will learn how we access the data and metadata using Java with JDBC (Java Database Connectivity). Along the way, we will see how we can automate some tasks, use tools like OAT (OpenAdmin Tool), and, if we need to, trouble shoot our engine. Detailed examples of Java applications are included.

Development Tools in 2006: any Room for a 4GL-style Language?: An independent study by Jean Georges Perrin, IIUG Board Member
In March 2006, I started a survey Informix 4GL and its possible replacements. The survey was run from March to July 2006. 95 people replied. Replies came from all around the world. The idea was to get a general feeling about how people were using 4GL, why they used it, on which platforms and against which databases and what are the trends.
