Introducing our first community-based Splashlight Spotlight, artist collective Textured Memos. Textured Memos comes together with Splashlight Studios to create "REBIRTH!: the five senses," a joint zine and immersive gallery exhibit, featuring work from twenty artists of both groups. As an exploration of the five senses, this collaboration investigates questions around the idea of rebirth and the innate human experience of the senses. Last week was a whirlwind with incredible updates (hello Canva Create), but I want to give a special shout out to the phenomenal Amer Jandali and his Future Meets Present crew, along with the amazing Data Vandals, Jason Forrest & Jen Ray and María Fernanda Callejón for the wonderful scrollytelling experience! We had the privilege of supporting two fantastic events in NY and introducing Flourish as part of the Canva family to storytellers from multiple industries, with a special focus on climate change and sustainability. If there ever was a sweet spot for data storytelling, then this is it! 🌟 The Climate Sparks Unconference was an incredible half-day event that brought together professionals from all sectors, to talk, network & workshop innovative solutions and collabs to tackle climate change. We were super lucky to have Data Vandals host a data storytelling show-and-tell during a special track dedicated to climate media and communications. Followed by the Splashing into Sustainability NYCxDesign Week panel, led by the legendary Patrick Duffy, with incredible lineup: Sophie Bensamou, Neil Yeoh and Justin Wolff, and hosted by Beatrice Dupire, Benoit Lagarde and the Splashlight Studios team. It’s not just the insights, but also their incredible projects left us all really inspired and hopeful. Also can I just say, what a phenomenal space!
