Kalki 2898 AD Movie review and release Updates: Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer earns Rs 180 crore on day 1

A video circulating on internet shows Prabhas' fans travelling to Mumbai from Alibaugh to watch the film's FDFS on its release day. The fan speaking in the video expressed his happiness and shared, “We travelled here from Alibaug. We are huge fans of Prabhas.” Another fan said, "Prabhas is good in the film. Such big films come in 2-3 years. It is a good film."

Bujji - the specially developed AI car in the film became a show stopper and now a life-sized model of the futuristic car has been parked outside Prasad Multiplex in Hyderabad. The car was voiced by Keerthy Suresh in the movie and it served as a sidekick to Prabhas' Bhairava.

The Prabhas starrer seals its OTT deal with the OTT platform Amazon prime for its digital premiere. It will premiere on the platform post its theatrical run, likely after a month as per the norms.

Amidst the speculation of a sequel, fans request audience to not msis the post credits of the film. A X user said that Nag Ashwin is going the Marvel Cinematic Universe way and has included a post-credit scene to amp up the excitement for the sequel.

Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj took to X to wish the entire team “blockbuster success.” His post also read “Sure this film is gonna be a benchmark in Indian Cinema”

The film's climax ends explosively giving the audience a tease to the sequel. The second part of the film will have Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan fighitng head on with the new story that left the fans in the first part wanting to know more about Prabhas' character.

The 'Kalki 2898 AD' film was released yesterday in 2D, 3D and IMAX format. However, at the last minute many shows with the IMAX versions were cancelled and the audience were disappointed as their tickets costed over Rs 1000 and they were not able to watch the film. Multiple videos of fans stranded in theatres as the IMAX shows were cancelled is doing rounds on social media.

Actress Deepika Padukone who plays Sum-80 in the film explained that Nag Ashwin had used AI in the right manner for the film. The actress also highlighted that Nag Ashwin, kept the performances' soul despite relying heavily on artificial intelligence. “With AI and things like that, I think you can lose the soul of the performances... The fact that we have a director who has used it so intelligently,” the actress said.
