The rights of DC Comics are starting to become as volatile as those of Marvel in the 2000s, and now Amazon Prime Video has the power to work with Batman. They will do so with Batman: Caped Crusader, an unusual animated series where Hamish Linklater (Midnight Mass) will voice the protagonist.
Now, Batman: Caped Crusader has just released its first trailer, in which we can see the unique look that the series will have. From what we have seen so far, it will have a much more gothic and less saturated look than what we have seen before, in addition to having a classic animation style that draws more from the comics and suits the character wonderfully. Below, we leave you with the first teaser trailer that has been revealed:
Batman, darker than ever
The series is a major collaboration in the entertainment industry, led by J.J. Abrams, Bruce Timm, and Matt Reeves. The creators are excited to bring back the Dark Knight in a new animated series exploring Batman’s noir roots with a sophisticated narrative and complex characters. In a way, it will serve as a counterpart to the Spider-Man Noir that we will also see very soon.
