A recent beta of WhatsApp has introduced channel categories in the search bar. Users can now easily find channels in categories such as Business, Entertainment, and News, among others, using built-in filters in the app’s search bar. The improvements in channel search add to other updates in the beta versions of WhatsApp, including improvements in the drawing editor and the voice call interface.
WhatsApp betas usually anticipate the new features that will arrive in the stable version of the app and usually optimize existing functionalities. According to WABetaInfo, version 2.24.10.20 of the WhatsApp beta for Android has introduced seven categories to refine channel search, which are integrated as filters in the search bar. This simplifies the search for channels in the following categories: Business, Entertainment, Lifestyle, News & information, Organizations, People, and Sports.
WhatsApp continues to release new features in its beta versions. In the latest beta version of the app, 2.24.10.22, an improved drawing editor has been included with new brushes and preset tones, and in version 2.24.10.18 a new voice call interface has been launched that allows actions such as muting or ending a call directly from the top bar of apps.
